Went to the restaurant over the weekend for the first time and unfortunately I will not be returning. For the price of the food I expected better I ordered the special salmon and it had so much brown sugar on it I couldn’t even finish my dish. I never had brown sugar on fish and the waitress never told me the dish came like that the brown sugar melted all over my potatoes and vegetables so nothing was actually edible since it was so sweet.

I love saltines, there was no music in the background so it was really quiet. We had a party of 8 and the lobster was excellent

Good food and nice presentation. Wait step helpful and accommodating. My only problem was the difficulty in finding the right door to get into the hotel from the parking garage. Had to walk up several levels to get to the door for restaurant guests as opposed to hotel guests.

Really good food in a beautiful hotel. We will come back on future visits to Norfolk

Saltines is my GO TO place for a great evening. The Governor Northam is letting us out again and my first choice was Saltines. Softshell crabs were excellent. If you've never order a Sazerac cocktail from the bar your in for a real treat. They make the best outside New Orleans. Parking is easy and bring the ticket to be validated.

Saltine's specializes in Seafood, but they have lots to choose from. Their Pork Chop is amazing too!

Service was a little slow but it was a casual lunch and we weren’t in a hurry. Food was great. Patio was lovely.

Limited food selections maybe because of covid. Got salmon salad salmon was great but the salad was a quarter portion of the bowl it came in which was disappointing. Its like I got salmon with a side salad

This was the first time we have been out to eat since the coronavirus pandemic. Everyone at Saltine was amazing, gracious, and prepared to provide us with a welcoming and safe experience. Our server, Cameron the bartender, was amazing and even helped us celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and bought gift cards for Father's Day on the way out.

I would have given Saltine 5 stars but when we first arrived we were seated inside as opposed to the patio where I had reserved several days in advance. I told the waitress that I specified outdoor seating on my reservation and she simply blew me off by saying “we have nothing available”. Moments later I asked to speak to a manager and suddenly same waitress came apologetically and said there was a large table available.... hmmmm interesting. Anyways, once we were seated in the patio, we started with the Alaskan crab legs and the baked oysters. The oysters were bland and not what we expected. We thought this was setting the tone for a bad meal however we were blown away with the entrees. I ordered the black bean tostada with tuna and my husband ordered the salmon soba. Both were delicious!!! These entrees completely changed everything. And lastly, we had the raspberry cheesecake which was phenomenal, perfect ending to a satisfying meal.

My ribeye steak was a little heavy on the salt. But the drinks and our server were on point.

Given the pandemic - outdoor dining went well. Service was good. Food was good too.

Good food. Great service. By the glass rose was particularly good. Food is good but nothing super special. Solid dining experience for a nice night out.

Very slow service. My kids chicken nuggets were burnt. Fortunately they didn’t charge us for them.

Quality of food was good, service was good though a real peeve is mine is when server collect plates before the whole table has finished their meal. Location is not great so close to a road cars revving past and random crowds walking past smoking etc.... Same as other hotel restaurants do have to pay more because it is at a hotel.

saltine’s did an excellent job with social distancing. We felt safe and had a great time.

Love the main. Upset the waitress told me raw bar was closed then to find out it was not....

Loved every bit of it celebrating my wife's birthday. Everything about it was top notch and the food was worth every penny. We will be back again soon!

Excellent service by waiter. Bread was not to my liking. Very chewy. Toast with oysters also soft and chewy. Salt entrusted rockfish was very good

My wife and I decided to try Saltine because it's advertised as a very good seafood restaurant. In summary, it does not stand up to other local offerings. We were initially seated at a table adjacent to a wait station, which had us request a relocation (Open Table reservations used to get some priority). Our waitress appeared to lose us for fifteen minutes, finally appeared, took a wine order and essentially hovered over us until we placed our order. Our appetizer was delivered to another table (that had been seated well after us), further impacting timing. And when our appetizer finally arrived, our dinners came out before we had finished the app. Everything was rushed. That seemed to be the standard, because we overheard the couple at an adjacent table indicate that the food was coming out too fast. Either the cooks or the waitress wanted to get us in and out asap. The restaurant was never full and when we left, there was no one waiting for a table. Not sure what the rush was, but it ruined the evening. Food was passable, but by no means "the best in the area." And since the restaurant adjoins the bar/raw bar, the noise was extreme. This may be a good location for an after-work gathering for drinks and oysters. But it strikes out as an enjoyable seafood restaurant. This is a restaurant in a conference hotel.

A bit pricey but overall food was good. Entree came while we were still eating our appetizers so we sent them back. When they were served not exceptionally hot

The food was good. Tasty oysters and stone crab. The restaurant lacks service quality for the price of the food. The service is just ok.

My wife and I have been there several times and have always enjoyed it.

A return trip to Saltine for us. Our server was attentive and very helpful in getting us to the right choices for our dinners. Wine was excellent - the one time when getting a bottle was less expensive than getting 2 glasses. Highly recommend! Get a reservation so they can plan for your visit!

Food was delicious! Server was very attentive and friendly with great interaction. Lobster hush puppies were amazing....so was the crispy sweet chili red snapper. I've been on the weekend when it was busier and enjoyed it, but going on a random Tuesday night was even better.
