Our story dates back to the 1800s, when millions of Longhorns roamed freely throughout Texas. With the taste for beef becoming a newfound favorite in the North, Texas ranchers prospered as never before.

Each winter, the Longhorn were driven to the Texas Gulf Coast to graze on the rich coastal salt grass. And when they headed for market, they followed the legendary Salt Grass Trail, known far and wide for creating the best beef in the Lone Star State.

In 1952, this historic trail ride was revived by four riders to publicize the opening of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Today, the ride has become an annual celebration of the original Texas spirit. The first Saltgrass Steak House still stands along this historic trail.

Saltgrass Steak House recaptures the flavor of the open campfire. Steaks, chicken and seafood, chargrilled to perfection. Complete with breads, soups and desserts, made from scratch daily. Come see us soon.

    Natasha did a great job timing our meal. The entrees paired nicely with our wine and we each tried a different salad (Wedge/Spinach/Caesar). My daughter said the Gluten Sensitive bread was the best she’s had.

    Our tenderloins were cooked to perfection. The beer bread was good. My sides were potato soup and flash green beans which were both very good but I would have like the sides to be warmer. Our waiter was great. There was no music which was heavenly. I could actually hear my spouse.

    Service was good. Might be great normally but Thanksgiving is sometimes hard to evaluate service. Food was terrific. Everything came cooked to our liking, food seemed fresh and leftovers were consumed the day after. Not for everyone but it did not appear that they offered pecan pie for desert. Honestly, I did not ask if they had it and went with a New York cheesecake. But I think if you’re grillin’ like they do In Texas, this should be an option. Overall experience was terrific and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good steak house. We will be back to experience the restaurant under more “normal” circumstances than Turkey Day!

    Very pleasant experience at Thanksgiving. Enjoyed that we had the option of a traditional Thanksgiving plate or the regular steak house menu and our service was excellent.

    Our Thanksgiving dinner was very good. The restaurant is large with lots of seating options, servers were efficient and cordial, and plenty of parking. The menu is varied with something for everyone. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

    Our waiter left us, and we had to flag down a random waiter to take our food and drink orders. When our waiter eventually appeared, he seemed irritated. We were seated right next to the kitchen and it was loud

    We visited Sweetgrass twice during our 3 day visit to Parker. The food on the first night was great (shrimp dinner and ribeye dinner). On our return visit, my husband and I each got the prime rib and were very disappointed. The prime rib was stringy and difficult to cut even with a steak knife. I will recommend this restaurant due to many other great things about it but just not the prime rib.

    This place is so loud, we couldn't even have a decent conversation over our meal. The seats are terribly cramped. The food was decent and the service as well. Just don't go here if you want to be able to enjoy your companions!

    Food was at its worst this trip, our waiter was was great , people l e at restaurant just have no manners they have forgotten how to use inside voices everyone has to talk super loud its ridiculous , don't think I'll be returning. Again.

    I ordered a medium rare filet, which was medium well. It was the worse steak I ever had at salt grass. My girlfriend is in the serving business, so she didn’t want me to send it back.

    Arrived a few minutes early for our reservation but didn’t have to wait to be seated and service was very good. Everyone’s meal was good, served hot. Had a great time. We’ll be back.

    Nothing really exciting about Saltgrass. Food was very meh, felt like the food was not really seasoned at all, rather bland. Don’t really feel it was worth the $100 we spent on dinner, definitely won’t be returning.

    Great service and prompt. Glad they brought the chicken tortilla soup back. Soo good. Steak was cooked good temp but burned the crust. Baked potato was cold didn’t melt the cheese

    I like a steakhouse that offers other food options and SaltGrass’s menu was perfect. The portions were good. The Cobb steak salad is a perfect meal. I had the ribeye, very tasty and cooked the way I liked. I will absolutely go there again

    There were four off us and we all had a good meal. Some of the items are a little overpriced but not enough to keep us away. Our waiter was excellent, sorry forgot his name, but maybe you can tell where we were sitting. We were thereon the 31st of July.

    The two items that we wanted and were on the OpenTable menu, weren't available and the server said hadn't been for months. Steak ordered rare plus came out medium plus at best. Mashed potatoes came out cold. Very disappointing as this once was one of our favorite restaurants.
