   I was excited to see a Saltgrass in S Lake Tahoe. I only knew of this place from when I used to go to Texas for work. It was easy to make a reservation on Open Table. The staff was beyond friendly. Our server was happy to make recommendations and he made good ones. Portions were generous. We had the fried pickles, salmon Caesar salad and filet cooked rare. The steak was cooked properly. We’ll definitely return.

   6 people.. all meals except 2 were not correct. All steaks were cooked wrong. Sent 1 back. Told waitress ..she said the cooks need some practice on temperature and how you want it cooked. I couldn’t eat half or my steak it was so rare. I ordered medium well, it was rare. Told waitress and she said, you’re right that’s not cooked right. Offered no assistance.. A male worker brought out dinners and gave wrong food to each person. When waitress came out, she explained where the food went then the male got mad and walked off. Not very nice. Then all bills were messed up. Waitress had to correct them 3 times. Still not sure if she got it correct. Do not recommend this Saltgrass.

   We had gift coupons to use and our server did not use them and told us she didn’t know how. One coupon was expiring on 4/1/25 and today is 3/29- need I say more

   The staff was amazing. My food was really over cooked but the manager handled it and didn’t make me feel bad. I can’t wait to try more of the menu!!

   We ordered the Urban Cowboy meal (New York strip steak w grilled shrimp on top) medium rare which was perfectly done and perfectly delicious. We had a side of baked potato and a green salad. As a couple in our 50's, we don't have the enormous appetite that we used to, so we shared the steak, the potato and salad, and a delicious desert called the Pecan Ball (ice cream covered in pecans and caramel syrup and chocolate syrup). This was perfect for us. I know a waiter must not be too thrilled to hear that everything will be shared, but he was a perfect waiter and very attentive. The location of Saltgrass is just inside the doors of the Golden Nugget Casino. The ambience is great -- well decorated and spacious with comfortable seating. The air is clear and not smokey at all, if you're concerned about "Casino Air." I will definitely return and highly recommend Saltgrass!

   Luis was our server and he was great! Friendly and on top of service. The food was really salty. There was a man sitting at the bar who was yelling at someone profoundly and left followed by security. Overall I’m not sure I would go back.

   The food was delicious and our server was okay , but otherwise not as good. We had our reservations made through OpenTable about a month ahead of time. The hostess took us to a table in the middle of the floor, next to a large table full of teenagers. My wife asked the hostess if we could have one of the several empty booths (about four or five empty booths) and was told by the hostess that those booths were for people with reservations. I ordered a drink and my wife wanted to taste it before she ordered. The drink came and was good. Awhile later the server came to the table to take our food order and my wife said she wanted a drink also. The server walked away without taking the food order. The restaurant has several televisions and they were showing various March Madness basketball games. My wife has a favorite team and positioned herself to be able to watch the game. After about ten minutes the television channel was switched to another game that was already showing on another television. We asked the server to have the channel switched back. The server said that someone must’ve requested the game and walked away. It just didn’t make sense to me that we would have to request a game stay on a television when the game it was switched to was already showing on another television. I’m mostly a meat and potatoes type of person, so I ordered a filet, baked potato, and sautéed shrimp. The shrimp did not arrive with the rest of the food. I asked the server about the shrimp and he said that he forgot to put it in. The food and drinks we did get were good. The overall service not as much.

   SSH is located in the Golden Nugget Casino, ask to have parking validated. Service was good, the manger stopped by the table to check on us and the food was very good. We would return if we are back in the area.m
