Delicious entrees- inventive, with layered textures and flavors. Loved the bass dish. Fresh bread with homemade salted butter was divine. Staff were friendly. Many were young and new to job, so there were some details that were subpar: entrees being served before the appetizers had been finished, no water refills when glass was empty. Overall, food was memorable and I’ll be back.

Amazing dinner every course. Thought the artichoke appetizer was a bit on the small size but the flavour was amazing. Our waiter was informative about the food as well as the local sights. Had an amazing 60th birthday there and it was worth the $$$$

We have dined three times at Salt Wood. Each time there has been some aspect of the meal that was off. The staff have gone out of their way each time to make it right, but honestly for the price of the food here there should not be any issues. Our last meal on December 28th was the straw that broke the camels back. My husband and son ordered the flank steak and honestly it was served looking like the chef had had a knife fight with the steak. It was mangled! After chewing on the "steak" for about three minutes, my husband said "I can't eat this" our son then said "it's gross, I was just trying bc I didn't want to make a scene" The waiter took the steaks off the bill and bought us four smoked duck legs on the house. Our bill was almost 400 dollars. So at the end of the meal we had had two dozen oysters, one bottle of Champagne, one charred, and I mean charred octopus appetizer, one bottle of rose wine, and one salmon dinner, (which was delicious). Again for the price, this should not be the situation. The "chef" here needs a renewed commitment to quality ingredients, presentation, and price point awareness. The setting is fun, but we are going to wait awhile before going back.

For $75 per person, this is the worst buffet I ever had. The almond crusted salmon was dry and very fishy. The pork had very little flavor. The items were limited. The chef and proprietor need to make a trip to any Vegas buffet and be enlightened. The food is mediocre at best.

Well, I hardly write a rewiew, but I have to do it this time. It was my boyfriend's birthday on this past Decided 23rd, I had a reservation at Salt Wood restaurant since it next to the Sanctuary Beach Resort which was a dog friendly hotel because we had our dog with us. We knew ahead of time that we could seat in the patio with our dog. We arrived at the the restaurant, the host took us to the outdoor patio which had the heated charcoal counter which by the way was the place the we could put our food. Anyway, we had to eat our dinner in a awkward position because the benches we were sitting on were higher the the counter top, we were like literally bending down eating. Eventhough we were offered by the host with blankets for a supper cold night sitting outside, but it was still very cold my boyfriend ended up got sick after that. The food was supper delicious and the waitress was really nice but I thought they should have a better accommodation for people with dogs because after all, they were next to a dogs friendly hotel. My advice for people that want to eat there with the fur babies, do it in the summer time or leave them home or at the hotel.

I had eaten there before and had a wonderful meal but this time my flank steak was so salty I could barely eat it- I should have sent it back but I kept hoping the next bite wouldn't be as bad. My Old Fashioned cocktail was tasty but has so many small ice cubes filling the glass I think there was 2 sips of actual cocktail in it. The waitress and even the manager came by to apologize for the salt bomb...but we were still charged for it (only left a little on plate). I would try again though and ask to be careful about the salt!

Can’t wait to come back. Outstanding service and great food. We arrived early and chose to sit in the bar for the happy hour. This restaurant is a gem. The cheese plate was fantastic. Server Michael was friendly and attentive. Dinner did not disappoint either. Flavors are exceptional. The chef and management know what they are doing. Make your reservation soon.

Restaurant was half empty and we asked for a warm spot on a cold rainy night. Escorted to a table remote from the fireplace and freezing cold. Took 45 minutes for food to be served after placing our order. Food was mainly excellent except salmon which tasted like it had bbq sauce.

This was the first time we had reservations. We’ve come here several times, but without reservations, and always had to eat at the bar because they were so busy. Salt Wood is fantastic in every way. They’re a little spendy, but we’ll worth it. I recommend the ox-tail fettuccini. Have some oysters first! They have really good drinks too.

Always A great experience. Service is flawless and the food is always good. I do look forward to the day when I get to sit either at the bar or right by the fireplace. I also recommend coming here on a day when you’re able to sit outside.

Sixth and last time we will eat here. It was our Anniversary. We walked to the restaurant which is close by. Oysters were great...that was it. We ordered chicken and a pork chop. Chicken was not done (almost raw actually) and smothered in some stupid sauce (I don't know how you can screw up chicken and why it's necessary to cover up the great taste of chicken with a sauce). That dinner came with a biscuit which was as hard as hockey puck. My dinner was the pork chop also covered up to hid the fact that most of the "pork chop" was just fat (90% inedible). The very kind and professional waitress ask us how our meal was so we told her. After that, some guy (the devil incarnate) showed up dressed in all black and just gave my wife the evil eye and a grimace when she politely explained the problem. You could also see the pile of fat on my plate.

There are just too many complaints about this restaurant concerning staff, poor quality food, and HIGH prices. Salt Wood is a great space and ownership needs to step in, step it up, and make this place and the City of Marina proud.

We use to love Salt Wood. However this visit we had a dish that was not up to par. We ordered the black cod and it came severely under cooked and had a funny smell, like it was spoiled. We asked the waitress to take it back and they cooked it more but it still had a bad smell. The manager asked my wife if it was better and when she told him it was spoiled, he said, that never happens" and walked away.

They made no attempt to make it right and charged us full price $34.00 for the cod.

We have loved this restaurant for some time but unfortunately it is off our recommeneded dining spots from now on.

We have eaten at Salt Wood a number of times and have always had great food and service. It is a little pricey but my husband loves the chicken, I love the burger, he always gets oysters and we share the grilled octopus. We will be back next time we are in the area!!

We enjoyed our dinner at Saltwood Kitchen. The food was good, and the service was even better. It seemed a little overpriced, but it is probably right for the area it is in. Lots of energy in the restaurant, and well attended.

Moving to the area and decided to try a restaurant nearby. We found a gem. Expertly shucked fresh cold oysters with some saltwater still in the shell. Charcuterie board was fantastic offering a velvety chicken mousse that was a real treat. Wine list is varied with some very nice wines by the glass available. Staff and chef were visible and caring. We will be back.

We absolutely love this place! The people, the manager, the food... so good! Would Highly recommend this to anyone...especially for dinner and their Sunday Brunch!!
