You don't need to be a whisky stalwart to appreciate this super chic whisky bar on the Edgware Road. Home to over 200 whiskies and bourbons, as well as bespoke champagne cocktails, Salt has sped to the top of the stylish venue list for product launches, private screenings and so on. If you think it would suit your event, and you have 20 to 90 guests, then it's definitely worth enquiring about exclusive hire. Terry Durack of the Independent on Sunday liked Salt rather a lot (it made him feel good), and we certainly do too.

It’s a bit scruffy, the food is very overpriced, tandoori platter was especially disappointing. Whisky selection is great though, but this still wouldn’t persuade me to go back.

Great food, more of a club than a restaurant. Server was inattentive

The food here , esp Indian starters are delicious. i always ask for aloo tikki chat and pav bhaji and consistently it has been tasty. this time we asked for chilli paneer starter and it was tasty too. the main course if fine too. Salt has an amazing list of whiskeys which i like and also lots of other alcohol. we were 5 who went for dinner and would have liked a table outside because 2 of our friends like shisha. but they wouldn't give us a table outside because wanted us to take 2 shishas atleast to get a table outside. surely if we are having dinner and then one shisha that should have been considered because it is not the case that we were just going to order one shisha and block a table for hours. we were also ordering food. they should consider this going forward because we come to Salt bar for food and shisha but not everyone does shisha. So dont make us choose between only food or shisha!

I love the ambience of this place, has got both outdoor and indoor seating. Very nice selection of Whisky, the largest I have ever seen. I'd definitely come back to try more options.
We tried the Vegetarian dishes and can definitely recommend them, especially the Veg Thaali. One of the best gulab-jamun I have had in Central London!

An enjoyable 'Girls night out' - v good selection of cocktails & mocktails. Tasty Indian food, right for sharing.
Had a table inside & the ambience was a little lacking/quiet - probably because it was a Monday.

Sampled a few of the huge range of Mal Whiskies that are on offer at this establishment - the food that we ordered to accompany was very tasty.
Service was attentive and friendly.
I would not hesitate to come here again!

Great whisky bar in London, the place while not what you would call chic does farely well. We were well attended, they recommended different whisky tasting experiences. The food is Indian cuisine and was good too.

Bottom line, is you love whisky, this is a place you must visit, at least a 10 page menu variety awaits.

Very good food and drinks. There's a good variety on the menu which would suit both vegetarians and non. The chicken lollypop and tikka were soft and succulent with a wonderful array of spices - a definite must. The extensive drinks menu was fantastic, in particular the passion vanilla kiss cocktail is to die for. As were many others.
Service on the other hand was average - the lack of staff may have had something to do with that. So easy to rack up the bill!!!

This is not a restaurant but a cafe bar not the place for a special occasion, there are no table cloth's, the menu is not very comprehensive, it is the place where you come to inhale upon those pipes which seem to be all the rage at the moment. so if you want a cafe bar which offer's a huge range of whisky, a smoke on those pipes and some nice food, but not a very comprehensive menu, this place is ideal! if you want a nice smart restaurant with a good choice of authentic Indian food, with a nice ambiance, look elsewhere!!!

We had a good night at Salt aided by our fantastic waitress Claudia. Being a Friday night it was clearly targetting the young professional drinkers as the music was too loud to hear my partner speak.

Fox@Excel. Good clean and comtemporary surroundings but very loud noise coming from bar area made it difficult to hear each other speak. Service and food were both fine. Price was ok. Choices on menu were somewhat limited and could be improved with a little imagination. Overall - a fair experience but could be considerably better with less noise and more choice.

We went to Fox @ Excel for the 3rd time for a birthday celebration. The food and service was great and good value for money. However the music was rather loud and the music videos being shown on the large screens were inappropriate. This hasn’t been a problem in the past and it won’t put us off going again. I know that we were not the only diners to have noticed this. Maybe it was just an 'off' night.

We tried the Salt Whisky Bar for the first time. They have a HUGE drinks menu to choose from. A Malt whiskey and a plum vodka later... it was too smokey to stay, roll on smoke free July! (-: Then we’ll be back.
