Not a vegan restaurant, but the best tasting vegan food (on Vegan Wednesdays) I've had around Ann Arbor so far, not to mention the great beer - this is an outstanding find for vegans.
Went there with friends. Fortunately we had reservations or there would have been a wait.
Service was chaotic. Several missed requests. Appetizers were slow coming and arrive along with the rest of the meal. Food and beer were good. The management was apologetic because of the service and knocked off a round of drinks from our tab.
We have a rather talkative and loud 4 yr old as well as a 1 yr old with the occasional excited scream. This place is perfect to bring them to or to leave that at home with a sitter. The did is great. The staff is friendly and fast. We went on Friday night at 8 pm. (With a reservation) we enjoyed it as a family.
This was our first visit and it was sensational. The food and service was wonderful. We will visit again soon
My husband and I met another couple for dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly, but in the middle of the room, on trivia night. We should have looked at their events because we would likely have chosen another place. It was quite loud which made conversation difficult. A friend had given it a generally positive review but had said it's a little pricey. We agreed with her assessment about price, but the food is well presented and quite good. Our server was pleased and answered the couple of questions we had as well.
Everything tasted extra delicious this time, our server was great. Food came out quickly. Wonderful evening!
The gathering was to celebrate a retirement among a small group of friends. They accommodated my request for a side nook that was semi-private. No rush, but attentive service in an interesting setting.
We had a reservation and they put us in a special side room. Amazing setting. But service was soooo slow. Took a long time to get our beer and then our food. And our reservation was not at prime lunch time.
Great time with my husband and our son! Food was great and the beer was delicious. Our server was attentive without being overbearing
Great place to celebrate a birthday or that special day.
Love love love the food and incredible beer selection. We also love the ever changing menu. Always exciting to see more and more local and interesting food!
Love this place. Great food and relaxing atmosphere.
Table was not ready even though we had a quite early dining time. Chef worked well with food allergies and special requests. Salmon was wonderful. Asparagus was slimy and stringy, the only food disappointment.
absolutely delicious food, great service and good beer.
We were greeted quickly and friendly! We had a great two person table and had amazing service!
Great atmosphere. Excellent service and nice dishes.
Service was polite and quick. Craft brews were interesting, a mixed bag...light porter? Dark IPA? Maybe the server confused the two that I requested tasting.
Food was nothing special.
Not a large menu selection, but always great tasting food and the selections change frequently.
This place has wonderful food and great service. It’s very family friendly as well as they have a kids menu. This is definitely a neighborhood find.
Honestly, probably the best meal I've had in years. The pizza dough was a bit sloppy from the tomatoes, but it was fresh. I'd eat there every day..
I agree with previous comments about the hostess needing training. She had us stand there for 10 minutes while she had a conversation with a server, and then walked away to follow him/continue the discussion. We had a reservation, but there were plenty of open tables. After acknowledging us she disappeared for a few more minutes to set up a table.
The service was slow and not very attentive, although friendly.
The food was average. The dining room had a strong sauerkraut odor, and was drafty. Perhaps the service and food will get better with time.
It did take almost 10 minutes for us to be greeted at our table, but it turned out that our server was also taking care of a larger party and was occupied with them at the time. It may be nice on busier nights to have someone else to greet tables and bring them water. The food was very good and our server was nice and courteous.
Great renovated church with original wood-work and stained glass features. Food was excellent with exceptional service. Atmosphere was a little lively with fairly close seating so not quite suitable if interested in a quiet romantic date. Will definitely go again, especially when outdoor seating is available again.
We love Salt and eat there all the time!!!
Went there before movie at Emangine theatre. It’s in an old church - extremely friendly staff, delicious food and great selection of beers. It’s a bit noisy so don’t go hoping for a quiet meal but we will definitely be back!
What a fun restaurant! Great addition to Saline. The soup of the day was delicious- the pork sandwich too. Women's bathrooms needed attention though.
Most people focus on the beer at a brewpub and the beer is indeed good. They have a variety of styles and that changes over time. I liked the IPA options.
The food was good for bar food. I really like the mushroom flatbread/pizza. I was less enthused about the pierogis but I frequently spend time in Hamtramck.
The location is really pretty being an old church. It is pretty noisy so don't expect a serene atmosphere. Reservations are definitely needed for peak times.
They do crowlers which are canned growlers of draft beer. A good option as they keep well.
Honestly, this is my favorite spot in Washtenaw County. The beer is good, the food is fantastic, the service is great. Today was my birthday and I picked Salt Springs for my birthday brunch and my family was impressed and highly satisfied.
truffle fries were outstanding but next time I'm def trying the tacos!
Great place for our girls night out! Booking our online reservation was user friendly and easy to do. We had a great experience starting with beer samples to a Poutine appetizer. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Will definitely recommend and return!
Here for business and it's probably not the best place for that, but it was still fine - since it was a Thursday night. Seating was tight, so it's easy to "participate" in your neighbors' conversations. However, the food was delicious and imaginative and the service was outstanding. I will be back, though not with a business guest where we need to have a serious, private conversation.
Did the bar tour with Ed. He was very knowledgeable. We had a very nice date. Food was fantastic. The building is beautiful
We had a reservation at 6:30, we got there 10 minutes early and even though there were several (more than 5) open tables we were told to wait 10 minutes and come back at 6:30. We came back 10 minutes later and the same open tables were still open. The hostess did not seem to know how to handle lines of people, it was VERY slow. Once we were seated the waitstaff did a great job but the food was just ok and not really worth the price. Beer was good!
Great beer and food, but a little too loud for easy conversation.
Great night out with the family. The waitstaff was fabulous with our two young children!
We have eaten at Salt Springs numerous times and fall deeper in love with this place every time we eat there. My son, after eating there for the first time said, "If God ate food, I bet he would eat here."
We didn’t know it was trivia night. There was a really loud dj that would interrupt the music every 2 minutes to shout trivia questions over a loud speaker. It was really distracting. I wish that would have been posted on this site as we would have selected another night.
Very loud. Food good. good waitress . Had a great steak wife said good fish. Hard to have a conversation or would have rated higher.
2nd visit, even better than the first time! Truffle fries are a must-try, and the pierogies filled with mushrooms and goat cheese were incredible. Friend and I each had a flight of 4 beers and we loved the local sourcing on pumpkins for the pumpkin ale offering (so much better than average "spicy" pumpkin ale...), we both thought the Saison was superlative. Great place for our birthday dinner, food and atmosphere is the best!
We ate here for the first time Friday night. Essential to have a reservation as they were telling people a 45-minute wait at 6:30 pm. The menu is not big, but each item has been thought through and is a little differentiated from standard fare. Quality of the food is very high and we thought worth the price premium. Beers are made on premises and there is a very good choice. Not a good choice at all for wine - kind of a "one of each" approach. Our waiter was nice and friendly, very casual. The atmosphere is great - renovated church is unique - high ceilings, stained glass etc. But beware that all the surfaces are bare and the noise level is amplified as a result. They might try moving tables around so they're not in a row - we were 18 inches from the next table of a VERY rowdy Girls Night Out group of 4 and the language flying was pretty disgusting. On the other hand, people with babies were on the other side of us. I would just ask not to sit next to a group that's been drinking hard next time. We will go back.
