Salt & Iron is one of our favorite places to dine. The food is always delicious and the service top-notch. The dining experience is always one we look forward to.
As always, the food was great and so was the service!
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our one year anniversary and were so glad we picked here to do it! We were quickly seated and served. When the food came out it was hot and delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. The waiter also knew it was our one year and brought us out a dessert to celebrate. Overall, amazing meal for a great price, and a lovely ambiance to top it off. Will be coming back again!
Fantastic service and delicious food in quaint downtown setting. Portions are smaller so don't expect to over indulge on single plates. Parking is challenging so be prepared to walk a block to get to the restaurant. Very popular with the locals so I recommend reservations.
Attentive and excellent service. One of the best offerings for Seattle Restaurant Week. Very much enjoyed first time visit!
Enjoyed an early dinner and took advantage of the Seattle Restaurant Week 3-course option. The food was fantastic! Servers and sommelier were friendly and made great recommendations.
I have a knack for dining out during Seattle Restaurant Week and my last dinner date at Salt & Iron was no different. My friend and I sampled the 3-Course Dinner Menu and enjoyed every dish. We had lobster crostini and roast asparagus starters, roast game hen and seared scallop main and lemon panna cotta and affogato for dessert. The dishes are a good size for the price and the flavor pairings are always creative and delicious. I will be back.
The food portions were very small. I ordered the 3 course meal for Seattle restaurant week. I’m only 100 pounds, and don’t eat very much. However, I should have ordered 2! The other people at the table ordered off the regular menu. We all left the restaurant hungry.
The overall experience was good. I would go back but not beat feet back. I wouldn't steer friends away but I wouldn't urge them to go. The chowder was delicious, the hamburger was not cooked as I ordered and had little taste even though it looked fabulous. The side salad was ample but the dressing had no taste. Orange sponge cake was disappointing but caramel salted gelato was very good. Coffee, bitter. The food needs to be consistently better. Our waitress was excellent and prices were good.
Went for Seattle Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint! Service was fantastic and the food was even better. Can't wait to go back.
We’ve eaten brunch here twice and can’t wait to eat through the menu. The atmosphere is great and service was excellent. Highly recommend
We were seated at a table in the hallway which was a bit awkward. Plenty of tables and I had a reservation. I guess the ambiance isnt as nice to me in the hall way. Much cuter seating in their main room. Great food, this was my second visit, I like the Chillaquilles. Drinks are over priced IMO, so I didnt order one this last time.
The corned beef hash is something special- my husband dislikes dining out but for that dish he makes an exception!
We go there often because we live close by. We went in last Friday thinking it was Seattle Restaurant week and was told by the waiter it was only Sunday through Thursday. We were OK with that because we don’t really like dessert anyway which is normally the 3rd course. The waiter approached us with a warm and welcoming greeting. But once we asked about Seattle restaurant week and it was not on that day... I feel he was no longer warm and didn’t really check up on us. That’s my opinion to why he was acting the way he was. If not, if it was because he was busy, then he’s not the greatest server. The bartender came by and asked if we wanted a second round of drinks, we obliged. That was great of him, I didn’t think it was his job since we weren’t sitting at the bar. The runners were great. Food was good.
Edmonds is changing it’s not just seniors anymore. Younger people are moving out of the eastside and Seattle. We have money too and are happy to spend it. Just a suggestion, make sure the staff knows the people who are dining out all the time, opposed to occasionally. Those frequent diners are people in their late twenties to late thirties. Ask me if I want a second cocktail, I’ll get it. If not I’ll go elsewhere to another restaurant who wants my business. Remember me, get to know me. Check in on me while I’m eating there. Just a suggestion.
For your restaurant, have you ever thought about making the whole back area happy hour? At least just for the early or the late HH. Just to fit more people. Sometimes I’m just craving oysters and love it on your HH menu.
We went to salt and iron for my birthday celebration plus it's a neighborhood restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. Service was flawless and very quite to carry on conversation. Very disappointed with food. It is just below average food for the high price that are charged. I ordered black cod and it was cooked in a soup not pan-seared or baked. It has no flavor and small amount of fish for $32. I was still hungry after my dinner. The portion was really small. We won't recommend this dish to anyone. It was not worth it for what we had paid for....
The wait staff was AMAZING. Paid attention to every detail and super engaging at just the right moments, but not intrusive on our table's conversation.
Seattle Restaurant Week menu options were good. Portions were small to moderate but sufficient. Would come again.
Our server Kali was friendly & professional and our courses were well-paced. We didn’t feel rushed and were able to enjoy our food at our own pace.
Waiter was really busy with other table so service wasn’t great but the food came fast and was outstanding. The wine was too cold, not a proper drinking temp.
My wife and I live in Seattle, so this was a bit of a drive for us. It was worth it! The food and service were outstanding. Edmonds has a real treat here - and Seattlites shouldn't be put off by the location.
Salt & Iron Fries were the best version of poutine that I’ve ever had! Yum-O! We’ll be back!
Service was pleasant and timely. Loud atmosphere but fun. Kind of on tbe pricey side so best for a couples special occassion or small group . Food was very good. Should you choose to share appetizers and sides, you could keep the final bill alittle more diner friendly
This place is so good! Has a great brunch menu!
We enjoyed our evening! We had wine, dinner and dessert! It was great!
I dont know why they have over 4 star reviews. The food was decent, but i have been to many other fancy restaurants and for the price i paid here, i had allot bigger/better dishes.
We went for Seattle restaurant week. They had put together very nice choices for the three course meal and the food we chose was delicious.
Asparagus was cooked perfectly! Scallops were succulent and divinely braised!! Wonderful restaurant week specials. Thank you Salt & Iron!
Everything was delicious! Loved the potato crisps and french fries. The sherry from Jerez brought back some great memories. Service and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Our first time at this restaurant. Great food and good service. will return again in the near future.
Our first visit for Easter dinner. We were seated in the hallway right by the door. Very busy location as the Servers were coming and going. Extremely loud noises and banging seated that close to the kitchen and bar. Not exactly a cozy Easter evening.
However the meal was very good but a rather limited menu and sort of pricey as everything is ala carte.
Great food great ambience food on the pricey side and portion is small but overall good experience
Our server was excellent. The food was outstanding. A minor issue was with the rib eye steak. It was a bit unevenly cooked and seasoned. With that said it was still one of the best rib eyes I have ever had. I would go back again and again - especially if we could have the same server. I am sure they all are excellent.
My Fiancé and I had an early Easter Brunch here with my parents. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The aesthetic of the restaurant is lovely and above all the food was outstanding! All 4 of us ordered completely different dishes and were all very impressed with how good each one was! Definitely plan to go back for dinner sometime! Would highly recommend!
Very poor customer service from the hostesses...clearly there were open tables and we were told we had to wait, so I made a reservation on Open Table. We were told we still had to wait and then eventually we’re seated at a table that had been free the whole time and that was visible to all. Not the ideal.
It's good. Some really great dishes on the menu. I love the steak tartar and the spinach duck salad.
My first & it was better than average.
The hostess was so rude, we would not go back. In fact we left before ordering.
We loved this spot! Very beautiful on the inside and fabulous food. Great service. We tried the seafood pot. It was amazing!
Was bummed that they changed their burger. Used to be the best burger in the world, now it’s just go-hum. Bring back the mama lil’s aioli.
