Fresh Oysters on the Half*
We didn’t have good service. The food was excellent!
Service was mediocre at best. Our table was next to the bathroom which is the only table near it. Food was great and it would have been 5 stars had it been for better service and not isolated near a bathroom.
Food is delicious and the service is impeccable. It is on the pricey side, but probably worth it.
Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The service was excellent and very timely, while the food was outstanding. Our server, Angela, was also very kind.
The food was well prepared, wonderful flavors. The oysters were delicate and delicious, the octopus dine Percy LY and the saffron aioli was on point. I had the seafood pot (small) which was very generous. Hubby had the Petrale soul. We both took home boxes and enjoyed the leftovers today. Split a lovely caramel macchiato trifle for dessert.
Great service, great food! Food came surprisingly quickly, given it being Mother’s Day. Will be returning!
I made a reservation for 3, weeks in advance for an outside table It was Mother’s Day but also happened to be my husbands birthday. We were greeted nicely and led to a table that was not one of the tables I had been picturing? The nice picnic benches on the street? It was a table pushed against the building with no leg room on either end AND with a view of the back side of the people sitting inside. They were higher than us so we were staring at their butts. When we asked if we could move we were told no, that the other tables were reserved for groups of 6 or more. We then proceeded to watch 3 tables of 4 arrive. Then we were given one menu for the table. Told to scan it using our phones. When I explained it wasn’t working for us she just laughed. So we had to share the single menu.
When the food arrived my husbands Mexican breakfast was strange at best. Soaked tortilla chips with a fried egg on top. Not what was described. And my Dungenous Crab quiche was just egg and crab. No seasoning whatsoever. So it tasted just like plain poached eggs, and the salad that came with it again had a dressing with no seasonings except for salt? It was very odd. It all tasted like nothing.
Our server was not very friendly and even though we all ordered drinks (2 bloody Mary’s $25 and a lemonade) and deserts ($10 x 3) she charged us a “service fee” of $3 because my daughter order a side of steak for $8- apparently not expensive enough. She also tried to get us to leave even though we were planning on desert. Had already printed out of check. So we had to ask about desert. Awkward.
The check was $130 for a very bland slightly uncomfortable experience. We were our nice and easy selves as usual. Tipped her 22% but will never go back.
A wonderful Mother’s Day brunch! The Dungeness Crab Quiche was the best I’ve ever eaten - light, flaky crust and filling almost all crabmeat. Exceptional, looking forward to returning soon.
Wonderful food, great service and outdoor heated seating.
Haven't been to S&I since pre-covid and we absolutely scored the best table & server (Isabella) on a gorgeous day, celebrating Mom! We enjoyed some kumies and burgers with perfectly chilled rose. Can't wait to do it again -- wish you guys were open earlier and hope to get back to normal business hours ASAP. Thank you for even being open, tho!! :)
Salt and Iron never disappoints! I took my Mom out for Mother’s Day brunch. Made a reservation to sit outside. It was very peasant and the eggs Benedict was nomnom.
Lovely time with my boyfriends family coming in from out of town! Perfect ambiance, the outdoor patio is amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
Five stars on everything. All of us were very impressed. I’d go back again for sure.
This was our first experience eating at a restaurant since the start of the pandemic. We sat outside and there was a physical barrier between each table which made us feel very safe. The food was well prepared, the staff was friendly and courteous.
Love the Chowder and Salt & Iron plate. End it with a Lemon cake for dessert you won't regret it. Cocktails are great you can't go wrong with the lemon drop or como se dice drink.
We were taking our kids out to celebrate their anniversary. Our daughter suggested this place. I made the reservation and looked at the menu, first thought was it was going to be a bit stuffy. We arrived early, the kids were running late. The hostess had the table ready so she sat us early and we ordered drinks. Our server Oscar was wonderful and took care of us from the start. Not claustrophobic attentive but there when just the moment you thought the glass needed more water. Food was so great without being pretentious. Was more than enough food. The drinks were flavorful. I do not drink much but if you go try the Chai Old Fashion, I could drink that every night. My husband said his Manhattan was one of the best he has had. Considering that he orders this everywhere that says a lot. Can't wait for another reason to drive to Edmonds and have dinner there again.
Great outdoor experience ☺️
We made reservations 1 week in advance. The front staff was wonderful but we didn’t get seated until 45 minutes past our reservation time of 7:30 and had to cut our night short to get back home to relive a babysitter. Busy night!
Loved teh oysters on the half shell, fresh and nice variety. Delicious with our cocktails that were crafted quite cleverly. The filet as perfect. Salt and Iron-- yes I got the whole thing. It was so yum to have a few scallops and shrimp perfectly pan seared to grace the plate. My table of family were all very happy. Must do again soon.
We ordered oysters and they were very good. My wife ordered Steak frites which she enjoyed the salads were excellent. I had Octopus which was excellent Our drinks were very good Servise was professional and efficient without being bothersome. We had a very good expereince
This is my new favorite place in Edmonds. Great servers and quality food
One of the best meals I've had in a long time! Could not recommend enough!
Our server Dana was wonderful. The food was outstanding. We will visit again
Amazing! Great service and great food. I will definitely come back again
Isabela was wonderful!! Cheerful, bright, funny such a joy!! Fantastic brunch items!!! Everything was delicious!!!
We were seated next to the door again which is why I put a lower ambience score. Otherwise, it was great!
This used to be my favorite restaurant, but this last time I went the food was literally inedible. The octopus used to be the best in the Seattle area, but was chewy and covered in a strange neon yellow sauce. The portion was about double of what it used to be, but quality has plummeted. After that we feared trying anything else on the menu and left for Barkada.
I attended for brunch, with outdoor seating as due to Covid, the restaurant has migrated a lot of seating onto the sidewalk area.. The seating outside is pleasant but it could be warm on a very warm day. The service is impeccable - very pleasant, and knowledgeable, as well as attentive and efficient. The brunch menu has some wonderful items from French Toast to “gratin” with mushrooms, kale, leeks and bechamel sauce, with a side of toasted bread and a small salad - it was all delicious and unusual. People seated nearby raved about their burgers. I have been to this restaurant many times and they never miss. One caution, though .... whether inside or outside, the seating lacks cushions so I suggest bringing your own if soft seating is needed.
The food is always phenomenal! Service is always friendly. One of our favorite places to go.
We absolutely loved our dining experience at Salt and Iron!!! The food was superb. Wonderful mix of flavors with nice presentations. Our drinks had flowers in them. Their selection of drinks is well thought-out. I have never been disappointed with the service and food here. Definitely will keep coming back. Kudos to the chef and staff for an amazing job.
One of our favorites! We came for Seattle Restaurant Week and enjoyed every aspect of our meal, and dining experience!
It's a great place for celebrating a special occasion.
The salt and Iron fliet was excellent!0ur waitress gave us a great rundown on our oysters choices. Fantastic meal all the way around!
Excellent food, steak was done to perfection and the green beans with almonds were fantastic!
Great experience! Would visit again and again!
We were there for brunch. Food was tasty and great service. I would go back again for dinner some time.
Food was great, but two of four dishes were served cold; had to sen back. As a result, we didn't get to eat together; diminished experience.
Also, what's with the 3% for management. If that's covering credit card processing, it should be included in overhead, not shared with customers. Get that off the menu and website.
We were seated by the door but everything else was great
Food was delicious! Service was great and it wasn’t too noisy.
