I only had 1 thing - the avocado toast - but it was perfection. The service was excellent.
Company in town from Phoenix. They are foodies and
They loved it. Our waiter, Gin, was the best!!!
We always ferry across from Kingston and we enjoy it
The food at Salt and Iron will satisfy most diners. I cannot eat fish or seafood but still find plenty to choose from. The filet and burger are absolutely delicious, even though I am not able to eat the burger with fries or the onions as they are fried in the same oil as fish.
Salt and Iron is our go to place for dates, special occasions, and anytime we just want to indulge in great food. Without fail, it always gets a 5 star rating. However, on our last trip, for the first time our experience was average. The service was slow and the ambiance dull. The food, as always, was outstanding. It was my wife’s birthday and I was hoping for it to be a little more special.
We had filet mignon and a chimichurri sauce and mushrooms on the side ..everything was very good however I cook filet mignon all the time myself, and the bottom portion of it was overcooked and was like beef jerky, same thing with my friends he ordered his rare, blue and it was medium rare and the bottom was like beef jerky, stringy and also very tough. It was very busy in there for $40 steak, it could have been cooked correctly. Also it was a very hot day and we are sitting in the aisle section on the way back to the restaurants kitchen and it was absolutely crazy and uncomfortably hot in there. The mushrooms were absolutely amazing.
Enjoyed happy hour menu although there was some confusion about seating - believe you can only get happy hour if you are seated in bar. Love the food here always!
My friend and I always enjoy eating here. The duck and spinach salad and grilled asparagus with the sauvigon blanc was superb. My friend was very happy with the flat iron steak and Caesar salad. We shared the chocolate rosemary bar. It was a flavor sensation. The servers always provide a wonderful experience.
Great food and great service in a beautiful location. Will definitely revisit!
Great selection and quality - will go again soon -
Too noisy inside so we had a seat outside, which was nice.
Food was average. Steak was prepared as ordered but the taste was average. Others at my table had mussels and they were good. The hanger steaks were not very good. I like the location, service was good. I come often but really wished hey could go for the wow factor!
I was in Lynnwood for work and had no idea how close I was to a great dining experience here. Edmonds is a great town and Salt & Iron is as metropolitan an experience as I’d expect in Seattle. Bravo!
Go any time, but brunch at Salt & Iron is one of the best. Corned beef hash is outstanding, and the frittatas are delicious as well. Never had a bad meal here.
Enjoyed a great family birthday celebration brunch meal with nice eggs benedict and oysters benedict, etc. Our server was superb, attentive, accomodating and friendly even though he was quite busy. Our seating was at the entrance to the kitchen...ok, but nit the best for privacy.
I like the place a fun feel. It was our first time there. We were a party of 6. 3 of us ordered the NY Steak..it had more grissel than meat on all 3 of our steaks. Good flavor but never have I had a steak like that at a restaurant that I had to remove pieces from my mouth.. everything else was good though.
steak and the seafood chowder were outstanding! Great server recommended a nice wine and loved the dinner salad
The food and service was as expected, which is why it's one of our favorite stops during the week, even when you miss happy hour. The oysters are always a hit!
Outstanding service, food, drinks and atmosphere. My wife and I will definitely be going back.
A very pleasant meal and setting. The food was excellent and well presented. Service was good and attentive. All in all a good experience. I would recommend them for a good weekday experience.
My new favorite steakhouse! What a very pleasant surprise. I thought this would be a spot meant to bring in tourists and not worry about repeat business. Clearly that isn’t the case with Salt and Iron. Their warmth and hospitality is on display by each staff member. There is clearly support from the locals as many folks entering appeared to be well-known and well-liked. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, not stuffy at all.
The food. OMG the food!
I had the grilled pear salad with chevre and sliced almonds on arugula with a lovely balsamic that really framed the flavors well. The sweetness of the pears. The creaminess of the cheese. The peppery arugula. All perfect and perfect together with the balsamic.
I also had the filet which was cooked perfectly. The chef had skillfully coaxed out all the wonderful flavors. It was served with an herb butter and an onion stack which ramped up the flavors already. What added to the experience was the red wine demi...to die for!!! I added the herb risotto which was wonderful as well. Perfectly done.
Kali was my server. She did a great job answering my questions, and her service was perfectly timed.
I will enjoy returning to Salt and Iron often!
Place is way too loud. Apitizer was forgotten delivered with the meal. Main dish scallops too salty and muscles were rick hard.
We were a group of 4 and most of our food was very good. I had the halibut and it was over cooked.
I had never been to this restaurant before, so I made a reservation for our lunch hoping that would get us a nice table. Instead we were placed at the intersection of kitchen, and service traffic with a lovely view of the door of the bathroom. My pet peeve is dirty dishes sitting in front of me when I am finished eating. Our server and bus person passed us numerous times until I grabbed one and asked them to remove the dirty dishes. That said, the food was very good and quite creative.
Food was outstanding, and service is superb
Can’t wait to go back!! The Happy Hour was wonderful!
Although I have eaten at Salt and Iron several times during lunch, this was our first Sunday brunch experience and it was awful. Most disappointing! Every dish tasted as if it had been prepared much earlier and then just barely reheated before serving. I had a toast in which the bread tasted as if fried in old oil and can't imagine how you can serve a cold fried egg. Another person had an Oyster Benedict in which the English muffin was soggy, barely toasted and cold. Potatoes on all dishes were cold.
Food was good. Server was nice. It was just way too noisy...to the point that I could hear the table on the back and the kitchen over my husband.
We had an awesome server that gave great recommendations. The food was outstanding as always.
We shall return! the food is well prepared and lots to choose from the menu.
I've been here several times for happy hour, loved it, and was excited to bring my husband here. The whole experience exceeded our expectations!! From the perfect oysters, to the catch of the day (HALIBUT), and my husband's amazing hamburger. Chad totally rocked it, connecting with us immediately. Can't wait till the next time!
Great lunch spot. After lunch, browsing downtown Edmonds is the perfect afternoon.
The service was great and the food was good! My family & I had a cozy brunch in honor of Mother's Day!
Changed menu. Nice to see new dishes and platings.
I made a reservation for my boyfriend and I for his birthday. I ended up having to push the reservation time TWICE due to our poor time management. They were able to keep our table reserved. When we arrived, we then asked them if they thought it was possible for us to be in and out within an hour, since we had a show to get to. They said they would do what they could, and they truly did! Every staff member who spoke to us was friendly, attentive and eager to help. The food came out so fast (per our request), and our server did a wonderful job of checking in. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I come here a lot and I love it! Mother's Day was no exception, however I was a little disappointed in the scallop special. For 30 dollars, I got what was basically an appetizer-sized amount of scallops and risotto (3 scallops and maybe a quarter cup risotto). It was delicious, but I wish there was more (or it could be put on the menu that it is not meant as an entree) as I was still hungry after I ate it, and had to eat some of my husband's food.
The food was amazing. The drinks well done. The ambience was perfect. Our server, Chad, did a fantastic job. This went on the places to come back to in the future.
Food was great, but our server Jennifer was amazing. She made the dinner over the top, even though some rude lady was complaining about pot smoke from a passer by. She's a top notch waitress and will be the reason we come again.
Amazing food, great menu
Loved the service. Our server was very attentive to us and helped with any needs. The hostess was very friendly as well and seated us right away. They also did not make us feel terrible for being a little late for our reservation.
We always enjoy Salt and Iron and this was no exception. It was a celebration of a birthday and they comped a great birthday cake w/ candle. It was much appreciated. It did seem especially noisy on this night but we requested a seat in the bar which is near the kitchen. Seats in the main dining area are much quieter for those needing a less "energetic" environment.
