Great food, great everything. I would go back
Salt and iron has never disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. Everybody is friendly and attentive from the moment you walk in. Menu isn’t extensive, but there is plenty to make everybody happy and every entree is well prepared and delicious. My favorite restaurant in Edmonds.
The breakfast is one of the best around - and there are many delicious choices to make, which may be the hardest part - everyone in our party had something different, and everyone raved about their choices.
This has been one of the most consistently wonderful dining experiences my husband and I have had singing moving to the Seattle area 3 years ago. The food NEVER disappoints! really great food, wonderful wine list (and very reasonable prices), and the service is outstanding. The servers are genuine and strive to surpass expectations. the atmosphere is refined for a special occasion or romantic for date night - and we recently brought our 8 year old and had such a great evening!!!
Salt and Iron is an awesome restaurant located in the heart of Edmonds. Great food, outstanding staff, and a fun atmosphere. My only complaint is that it was very loud. We were seated in the main restaurant area on a Friday night with two other tables of very loud parties. At times it was hard to hear each other speak.
I've been here for weekend brunch as well and again, excellent food, wonderfully attentive staff, and pleasant atmosphere. It was much quieter then :)
There were shells in 4 of our 12 oysters. The server had the personality of dry toast. Cocktail were yummy. So was the steak tartar and the duck spinach salad.
Went there for my anniversary and the ambiance was perfect. Mood lighting, excellent service by all the friendly staff. Group that sat next to us was slightly noisy, just because the seating made us a foot apart. Food was exceptional, but a little pricey so watch out! Love this place, my go-to for date nights and special occasions.
Very very expensive. Food was ok but not outstanding to match prices. One and done.
The seafood chowder was probably one of the best I’ve ever had.
Great alcohol selection and delicious cocktails !
Fantastic service !
I had previously been to Salt & Iron for dinner for my husband’s birthday and we did not have a very good experience. Neither of us were blown away by our food and we walked away feeling like we had wasted $150.
Some friends wanted to meet for brunch and suggested we go here. I looked over the brunch menu, read some reviews, and decided we would give them another chance. I’m glad we did because it was really good. I got the BLTE. It had four thick pieces of bacon on it along with a perfectly cooked egg. We all had the crispy potatoes which where fantastic. Everyone else at the table had the breakfast burrito, Eggs Benedict, and the veggie frittata. All were enjoyed. I had a mimosa and my friend had a Bloody Mary.
Here, you are paying for the location and ambiance as much as the food. Our service was good, but nothing spectacular. The bill with tip was about $120. Which is a little high, but the good food made it worth it. We’re glad we tried brunch here, and will probably come back again.
I love the corn beef hash, have to order it every time.
Awesome service. Awesome food. Love the brunch!! Chicken and grits is amazing. Always love the Benedict. Others in my party quite enjoyed the Bloody Mary.
Terrible customer service. Really good food, but combined with the bad service and how noisy it is, I don't know that I would recommend it.
We have been wanting to go here for a while now and decided to try it out for my mother’s birthday. I was immediately impressed when we walked in. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and I thought the interior of the restaurant was really cute. We brought our 6 year old son with us and he was given a kids menu and crayons to color. The kid meals include an entree, side item, beverage, and ice cream for dessert. Which is awesome. We ended up sharing a bunch of small plate items. We order the brussell sprouts, charred romanesco, small filet, side of scallops, herb risotto, and whipped potatoes. The scallops were incredible and was the overall favorite, but everything was delicious. We got the cream puffs for dessert, they were filled with a coffee flavored cream and came with a salted caramel sauce underneath them. Super yummy. I highly recommend visiting here if you haven’t already. We all had a great time and Sean, our server was fantastic. He was extremely friendly and very attentive. :)
Awesome food, great service. Can’t wait to come back!
Four of us had brunch on a Sunday. We had some very fresh oysters for starters. The Mexican egg dish was delicious. Perfect eggs over a salsa/chicken stock base, with tortilla strips and lots of sliced avocado .There was a generous amount of crab on the Benedict, which had a twist on hollandaise using puréed jalapeños. If you love delicate smoked salmon, try the salmon toast with goat cheese. Good service even though the restaurant was very busy.
Always delicious food. Good ambiance. We always try and get a table in the back room, otherwise the table locations can be a bit awkward. But the food and service make it worth it no matter where you sit.
Food was good and the server was very nice. Unfortunately, they forgot several of our items which delayed or experience and of item never arrived. Definitely come here, just make sure you stay on top of your server yup make sure you get everything you ordered.
The food was very good but our server was terrible and the noise level made it difficult to relax and savor the experience. When the server says that your drinks will be right up and 15 minutes later you have to leave the table to find your server on her iPhone in the back in order to get your drinks, you question the value of going out.
We've been here a few times. Very Good. The food is a little rich, kinda messy. Great cocktails. The one IPA they had on tap, Stoup kinda boring. Tasted like a lager. Salish Brewing is just down the street, would love if they had one of their IPAs. The dining room feels a little plain, kinda odd.
Amazing experience, unique food done very well and a staff that is friendly patient and prompt.
We were seated at a table directly in front of the door, which was annoying considering I had made a reservation for a friend's birthday several days in advance. Our server was adequate although she didn't know anything about the wine we wanted to order and completely forgot our orders and had to come back to the table so everyone could reiterate them. The food was mostly good, although the prices seemed high and the a la carte menu and wine by the glass prices put a dent in my wallet. Probably won't be back again.
Been here many a time. Posting a review for the first time. Food is generally good. This time was awesome. My wife and I both a steak, maybe that's the ticket. Overall a great evening, only negative on this review was that I pointed out it was my wife's B-Day and no candle came with dessert. Server even said there was a note. They were busy, so maybe it got lost in things. It's a great localr
My husband and I decided to have date night here this weekend. Loved the warm spinach salad on the specials menu and my filet mignon off the small plates menu tasted good and was cooked perfectly. Hubby had the pear and greens salad and seafood chowder. Both were good. My lemon drop was tasty and my glass of Syrah was yummy. I wish the menu had more choices of seafood (not oysters) and vegetarian dishes. My only complaint was the waiter. Slow and not extremely knowledgeable.
Exceptional service. I took my husband for his birthday and we could not have been happier with our meal and our waitress. Will definitely be returning - the food was outstanding.
Brunch is where it's at for Salt n Iron. The drinks also contain real booze, which is nice when you're spending $12 for a bloody--also comes with a prawn!
Food was great - server was attentive. Took our 12 month old and we were seated in an area that was comfortable for a high chair. It didn't feel like we were "in the way" or constantly getting bumped into. Bloody Mary was amazing! Overall, had a great time!
Salt and iron has the best oysters in the Northwest! They take great care in handling and prep of all their food. The menu is varied with something for everyone. We have vEr been disappointed here.
Overall a good spot. Edmonds definitely is an older crowd so if you’re 40 be prepared to bring the median age down. I had the burger.....very good. My date had the bean salad and it was also delicious. We split the kale salad for an appetizer and that was excellent as well. Overall a great experience
Truly excellent food, which I prefer to a longer menu. The wine list is shorter than it looks, and more expensive than it needs to be, but we found a reasonably priced wine that worked for us. A little noisy, which does interfere with conversation among those of us with hearing aids. The service was much better than expected, even superb. We shall return!
Wonderful as usual, food outstanding, service great, location great, all and all it is truly the best place in Edmonds. Love it!
The food was amazing and our server was very friendly and helpful. I just can’t say enough positive things about the experience. We all shared a bit of our brunch selection. French toast, corn beef hash, a very tasty hamburger and a Mexican dish with eggs. Of course the bloody Marys were very good as well.
Great service and great food!! Always a favorite.
The menu was mediocre. Not a lot of choices to choose from. I felt like the food was overpriced for what we ordered. We ordered the market Fish and the scallops with risotto. I don’t know but I just thought it wasn’t worth what we spent and I don’t think we will be coming back anytime soon for a date night again.
Always delicious with a great menu. A welcome addition to the local dining scene.
Excellent place to share plates
Good food \ good service/ noise level was a bit much
We had an early reservation for Valentines Day and were seated at a table very near the kitchen and bar. Although I had made the reservation several weeks in advance, I wasn't informed that there would be a fixed menu for Valentines Day. The cost was close to $90 per person. There was also an optional $35 wine pairing available. Although the food was fine, we found the cost to be excessive and the service adequate but not overly friendly.
Very attentive service from Chris, good ambience. We'll probably come back again.
Salt & Iron is our go-to for out-of-town guests (especially those who love oysters), and birthdays (their dessert is always a great perk for the occasion). The food is consistently good, the atmosphere fun and friendly, and you can go classy or casual and fit in either way. The food is comparable to The Big City, without the congestion or expensive parking. Definitely worth checking out!
