Salt & Iron Ratings and Reviews
Great food! Excellent service! I am unable to eat garlic and the chef not only prepared my clams and linguine with no garlic as requested, but also did not add the pesto that was supposed to be in the dish as it contains a lot of garlic. The waiter offered to serve the pesto on the side if the chef had assumed incorrectly. I greatly appreciated the chef acting on his instinct. I did not miss the pesto! My linguine was superb and I thanked the chef!
We had a wonderful dinner. We had a bad experience once before and Tiffany gave us a gift cert. and we used it to try again. That first experience is long forgotten after this dinner. I ordered the pork chop and it was the best pork chop I have ever had and I had the white bean soup which was delicious. My friend had the hanger steak and she said it was cooked to perfection, she also had the S.I. green salad and that was so tasty also. Thanks for the great food and wonderful experience
A friendly and homey atmosphere, upscale without the attitude. Our server was top notch with a great sense of pace, there when we needed something but not hovering or rushing. She also was able to work with the member in the party with food sensitivities to throughly vet menu items.
Service was excellent, as was the food. Our server made a very good and moderately priced wine recommendation that went well with the different things we ordered. I liked the fact that my fish was served with interesting vegetable sides and no starch (rice or potato) although I could have ordered a starch side had I wanted one.
Salt N Iron serves food like a Michelin Star restaurant in NYC! Exquisitely plated and a fusion of flavors that are amazing. The atmosphere can be casual or a bit fancy - whatever you want to make it. Whatever you order won’t disappoint - we had scallops that were juicy and divine. We had steak - cooked to perfection. And we had the day’s special, boneless pork with a Middle Eastern flair. They feel free to give things a try, and we are all better off because they do!
Food and table service are good, but pricey.
What is not good is haughty hostess staff that act like they are doing you a favor to seat you. Arrogant is the word that comes to mind.
We have eaten here several times and this is not the first time it has happened, even with reservations.
Someone needs to do a better job of training the hostess staff.
Celebrating a birthday. Had the unfortunate experience of an over cooked filet mignon. Asked for medium rare but it was served as medium it was dry and bland but at least it was tender. I let our waitress know and showed her my steak, she agreed but told me it was because it was a 4oz ? I wasn’t in the mood to argue in front of my date!! He ordered the pork tenderloin which he said was delicious. Overall it was a nice evening but not memorable..,,,
Great staff - knowledgeable and attentive. Felt like the small plates were rushed and made in large batches before we ordered - too expensive for that! Scallops were seared gorgeous on one side and not really cooked on the other so scallops weren’t all the way cooked - but the quality was high so I ate them. Risotto wasn’t all the way done. The fresh plate rabbit Mac n Cheese was great. Pear salad was tasty and proportionate. Excellent wine list and good pairing suggestions.
I’m a big fan of their brunch - Eggs Benedict is perfection. Great price points. Feel like you are getting more than you paid.
2nd time this month! So good I came here for another girl's get together! Keep in mind I live in West Seattle, so it's a trek, but totally worth it! Make reservations for seating in the bar! Try the Sunny Avocado toast. Yum! And ask for a Brass Monkey. Mmmmm . So strange, yet SO refreshing.
We’ll be back . Service and ambience were great . Despite a hiccup with a bland serving of risotto as a side we loved the restaurant. The server handled the issue immediately and another side was brought out immediately. Happy hour was busy and had many options .
It was a good meal but I would say over-rated. I did not like the metal chairs on a cold evening, which subtracted from my ambiance score. Our orders were mixed successes...pork chops, mushrooms, octopus good but lamb chops and risotto only fair. I would probably not return.
If you had an option for “maybe” to recommend I would have selected it. We had a reservation but overall the service was SLOW. We waited a rediculous amount of time just to order drinks (bottle of wine) and receive them. The menu seems to have even fewer options from my previous visits. Le Bain was disgusting. Over flowing garbage and overly dirty (blood on toilet rim I wiped off) every time I have eaten there I have had a mediocre experience. Even your burger, which is fantastic, will not make me return anytime soon.
My wife and I had dinner here before heading to Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Dinner was fantastic and I would highly recommend the S&I Salad and Octopus for starters. The salad is completely un-assuming but delicious and the octopus is perfectly cooked. We paired it with a less expensive Pinot Noir from New Zealand which I would recommend in a heartbeat.
Twice now we’ve used open table and got bad seats both times. Friday night we had a small table for two in the middle of an aisle, they gave a better 4 person table to a walk in infront of us. If you’re going to make a reservation for a special occasion, add a note. My wife and I were bummed to have traffic going around us all night
Have been here for Happy Hour twice and been pleased. Went here for a birthday dinner and my wife and I both ordered the lamb. Decent flavor, but as tough as nails. More than disappointing. Mentioned it to the server and she comp'd the corkage fee. Bone marrow appetizer was very good. I'll be back for happy hour, but dinner, not likely.
We have been there for dinner and lunch excellent food excellent service and just an overall wonderful place in the neighborhood setting downtown Edmonds has so many little shops to peek into after lunch it's a wonderful place to explore in the dinner time one can go down to the Waterfront and take a stroll this was a wonderful find in the Edmonds area. We shall return.😊
