   Unfortunately the quality has gone down exponentially at Salt & Ash. Some of our longtime menu favourites have been altered and are no longer edible. For example, one of my favourites used to be their fish & chips. It was 2 medium sized pieces of deliciously flaky haddock in a light tempura style batter, with a hefty portion of their amazing salt and vinegar fries. Now, you get a fillet that is comically large which usually I wouldn’t complain about size, however in this case, less is more. It was a giant, greasy piece of fish that when cut in two to be manageable fell apart completely. The fish inside was moderately translucent (underdone) and the fish tasted as though it had been brined as it was inedible salty. The fries on my plate were for the most part a nice light brown. My mother who ordered the exact same thing got burnt fries with hers and the same inedible fish. It’s so disheartening to take this one off my list of go to’s because I genuinely used to love it. The service has always been hit or miss with lots of awkward misplacing of dishes and drinks, forgetting of items, but the friendliness of the staff and deliciousness of the food usually off puts that. However now it’s no longer worth visiting.

   The restaurant was very loud, it was difficult to hear my date but that’s not the restaurants fault. Our server was lovely although she appeared to be nervous but that’s normal, no fault. Loved the corn bread, the wine, the cheeseburger and fries were incredible but the margarita pizza was very bland and just tasted like plain tomato sauce with not much seasoning to it at all. Overall had a great time, and will be coming back!

   Waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Didn't feel like they had very many food options. Only special was pizza. Very loud. Hard to read menus with the type of lighting. We didn't leave upset but it didn't hold up to the hype.

It’s disappointing to hear that we weren’t able to offer you the brunch you were expecting, especially after making a reservation. We completely understand how frustrating that must have been. Our Brunch ended at 3 PM, and unfortunately we had a very busy weekend and began to run out of our easter items around 2 PM. We’ll be reviewing our processes to ensure that this doesn’t happen again in the future.    We had a lovely Easter Brunch. The food was extremely tasty and the staff very attentive. I'm vegetarian and it was lovely to see that many menu items could be adjusted to accommodate this. It was my first time at Salt and Ash and I found the decor very interesting - I can visualise how it will feel very "beachy" when summer comes but right now it is warm and cozy.

    It use to be my favourite restaurant in the city but I wasn’t impressed with the menu this time around. It lacked variety and the food was just okay for the price point.
