Salome on Main
Our bar has the largest and most eclectic array of Agave Spirits our region has seen in recent years. Our cocktails are hand crafted and feature fresh squeezed juices from our valley’s finest citrus and produce. Our wine list celebrates Mexican and Mexican–American wine makers that are making their impression on the wine world by expressing their talent and that of generations of viticulturists that shaped the landscape of California, Baja and beyond.
We invite you to be transported and experience the nostalgic flavors of México.
First time at "Salome on Main", treated my partner to a nice dinner. So Place is very nice, Service was great, Food was very Fabulous. The only thing needs attention is the tortilla size is super small for the amount of food being served. Might want to rethink the tortilla size!
But plan to be back and will try it again.
Auténtica y rica comida mexicana ... y el postre una delicia ❤️
Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend
Exquisite food...impeccable service. The flavors were incredible and the wine selection great.
Everything is amazing. The only thing they need to work on is the noise. The acoustics are really bad inside. It’s very loud even though it was not full.
I would recommend Salome to friends but suggest that they move outside. Holding a conversation at a normal speaking level was impossible because it was so noisy on the Monday evening that I was there. Other than that, the space is beautiful and the staff was very helpful. The food was really good.
Extremely good food, small menu but hard to choose because everything looks so good. Great service and amazing environment.
Food was great, service could improve
Very nice place, highly recommend it. Lovely outdoor dining. Food is tasty
Outstanding introduction to some of the original foods of Mexico. Our server made excellent recommendations and the meal was incredible. Don't miss trying the wines from Mexico either, excellent quality.
Salomé is one of the best restaurants in the entire region. The food is delicious and authentic Pre-Hispanic cuisine with just the right contemporary twist. Terrific flavor combinations that reminded me of Pujol, one of the great restaurants of Mexico City. Add Salomé to your itinerary.
Good, but not what I expected.
It was an awesome experience to dine in Salome. The food was amazing, the service was off the charts and the ambience/scenery was perfect. I truly enjoyed every aspect of my night there at Salome. Eva was very helpful in giving us an insight on each dish that was there. Will return and I already told my friends that they need to try it out!!!
Beautiful venue and the food and service is excellent!! If you prefer a quite dining experience I would sit outside on the lovely patio, inside is a bit too noisy.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly and helpful staff. The menu is both traditional and creative at the same time. The wine list is very good. Good for special occasions.
Every time we come it’s a new experience. This time we were regaled and entertained by Chef Delgado himself and he was so generous with his time. He gave us the history of the restaurant and Madame Salome. He even made us sample some yummy grubs and grasshoppers! Exquisite!
Been several times. Always amazing.
Poor service. And in the middle of the dinner they don’t have enough Diet Coke and a lot of bottle of wines they don’t had. I love the place. But I don’t know if I will be return for the service
The place is gorgeous and so is the ambiance. The food is fresh and definitely has a twist, however it was not what we expected. Maybe we did not order the featured items. The octopus was really good, though.
The restaurant is a credit to the community and a great showcase of the culinary talent in the Rio Grande Valley. The ownership team is very engaged in the day to day operations of the business and it shows in the quality of the product and service levels. As Director of the new Hospitality and Tourism Management program at UTRGV this a great place for students to train and guests visiting the Valley. As someone who has been in the Hospitality Business for over 40 years and traveled extensively, I am very comfortable endorsing this restaurant. Our daughter who lives in New York was with us and is carrying back great memories of our family evening together. Congratulations to Team Salome. You know the secret sauce: Happy Employees make Happy Customers!
They have to work with the acustic, it’s to much noise inside.
Other thing my recommendation is to change the square tales for some round; so they can feed more people.
Very good food and somewhat expensive for McAllen. We enjoyed the oysters but it lacks some heat. The chicken with mole was delicious , cochinita pibil also as was the lamb barbacoa and the tortillas were too good. Only issue was the lomo which was a to go order that was “chewy” and lacked tenderizing. Service and ambiance was excellent.
Will definitely go back
We loved the ambiance of the restaurant plus the service was first class all the way. The food was amazing with flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine. We will be back.
Non-impressive, overpriced Mexican food. The actual restaurant has nice vibe, but the food fell short of expectation, and to make matters worse there was a hair mixed with the tortilla itself. Disappointing, especially for the price!
Delightful setting, unique menu, good service, super nice outdoor dining. Hard to ask for more...We love it!
Excellent food! Bit noisy but overall great place!
Refined Mexican cuisine puts this spot on the map. Flavors from the interior of Mexico fused with something new really made this special. the mole tasting is a must with lucheon tacos and memelas. Enjoy my friends
The dining experience is definitely a unique one. Every dish was new and unfamiliar to me. But every dish tried was great. The service was very good and Stephanie attentive to our requests. The only problem was the noise level in the room we were in. It was difficult to carry on conversations. I would not hesitate to recommend this great new dining venue.
It was an unbelievable experience.
The ambiance was divine. The food, I can’t explain it.
Explosion of flavors that all came together.
Bravo to everyone!
Authentically terrible. I grew up traveling up down Mexico from the frontera to the Yucatán. Ridiculously priced for the portions. No authentic Mexican family would let you go home hungry. This is the dud of the 3 restaurants.
I loved their beautiful patio! The food was great and the staff was very helpful. My friends and I really enjoyed their drink menu.
The menu is really unique. We ordered the oysters on the half-shell as an appetizer...The cilantro mignonette lime-caviar sauce was beyond scrumptious. Ray had the filet special and I had the pork chop. Both very good. The outdoor patio is so inviting. We will be back soon, for sure.
Chefs Larry & Jessica did it again!! Another unbelievable restaurant, especially the decor. You feel like you should see water from a cliff side.....just amazing. Thank you guys for giving the RGV these great options for dining and socializing.
We really enjoyed Salome! The food was amazing (especially the conchita pibil and coconut mousse). Atmosphere is very elegant yet relaxed. The only drawback was how loud it was inside so I’d recommend outside seating if the weather is nice.
From the moment you walk in you feel at home; service is on point.
We took my mother that was in for the weekend and she loved it.
Food was amazing—flavor brought back memories to our younger days. We loved it!
And the drinks are phenomenal, I’m sure will be back!
Excellent food in a beautiful restored home.
Portions are maybe too large.
Absolutely loved it! The ambiance, architectural design, drinks, food, and service was delightful. The owners truly have restraunting down. Their third location is excellent!
Excellent service, Karma made great suggestions! The food and drinks were delicious, we will be back.
