Great service and food.
The food was okay but unremarkable. I had the spicy tuna roll and the crab cakes (appetizer size). I had heard that the paella was very good, but, as a senior citizen, I did not want the portion size offered. Unfortunately, the server told me that I could not order a half portion. I was seated outside by choice, and it was a nice evening (but then most evenings in San Diego are nice).
We’re in town for our son’s college orientation and making the most of our weekend here. Everything about Sally’s was fabulous. The location is perfect and we sat on the patio with a beautiful sunset view. Chris, our server, was the best! We would definitely come here again!
We really enjoyed our luncheon but the music was too loud and the service was slow.
For the quality of food, this place is way overpriced. Everything was decent to good, but nowhere near the cost of each item we ordered. Great location, ambiance, view etc. but the food just wasn't worth it at the end of the day. I'd only come back for happy hour drinks.
For the price and elegant ambiance, the sushi menu was very disappointing.
Great location. Food, though, was a little disappointing. Dinner prices were quite high - to be expected w the location - but my grilled swordfish was a bit dry and over cooked as was my husband’s sea bass. The preparation was a little too ‘fussy’ for the quality of preparation perhaps... Best part of the meal was the warm bread and butter.
I did have the clam chowder for lunch a different time, and it was good. Above average. Again, the bread made it. Prices more realistic at lunch for what you get in this area.
I’d recommend for lunch, but not dinner.
My wife had a bad oyster, which we sent back, but apparently one of the ones that was not sent back was not ok either because she spent the entire night feeling sick. Except for that incident the food was creative and the service was fine.
Great staff wonderfully delicious food...always make this place a must for a visit when in San Diego
Very loud and very slow service. Our food was fine, but overpriced
Great food, nice views..
Food is great but portions are small considering the price. Did not appreciate the 3% fee to cover “minimum wage increases.”
Food was great. Our waiter was less than attentive. Only saw him twice, once to take our order and then to deliver the bill.
We love coming to Sally’s! Lunch outside on the patio with the beautiful view and the nice breeze is always a treat. We’re never disappointed with the food or the service. Today we had the crab cake and crab and avocado apps as well as the fish and chips. Everything was amazingly delicious! The servers are always kind and courteous Til next time Sally’s!
My first visit to Sally's. A very comfortable environment. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is great. I had the clam chowder and paella. Both were so tasty. They were very generous with the seafood in the paella and I think one serving could actually feed two if you start out with an appetizer or soup or salad. We had a chocolate dome like dessert with ice cream sitting on stop of a brownie surrounded with a chocolate dome and then hot fudge poured over it melting the dome and exposing the ice cream and brownie. Decadent is the only word to describe it. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
Went for lunch today and fish tacos were fantastic. Made reservations to go back for dinner!
Excellent service and delicious lunch. Add view and what more could you ask for?
Excellent dining experience! Creative and delicious food. Wonderful service! Great combo of kid friendly yet romantic setting! Two thumbs up from the entire family.
Very accommodating. Our 2 person reservation grew to 4. No problem. Great variety of fish plus meat too
Audreana was fantastic! We will be back again soon! Thanks for a great experience. The next day. Bryan was extra amazing. Thanks for the great service. Love you guys!
Wonderful service and delicious food. We were so happy to have chosen this patio to spend our last night in San Diego!
The salmon with horseradish cream was a new preparation for us and we loved it! Always great ambiance and staff. Our go to place in San Diego
We originally had booked for 7 people but they were able to accommodate us when we had 2 more join us at the last moment. Attentive but not overbearing staff. Seafood was good. Nice selection of craft beers. Overall, a very nice experience.
Slow service waited over 15 minutes before anyone came to the table. Given wrong bill at the end of the meal. Staff seemed more interested in socializing with each other than waiting on the customers!
Great outdoor space for diners that want to bring their 4 legged family members. The foods were very fresh, delicious and interesting. We had the small seafood tower, scallops crudo, and the clam chowder. Everything was delicious and served at the right temperature. This is one of the few places in San Diego where they served a full size lobster with the small order of seafood tower. The clam chowder was full of clams, perfectly seasoned, tasted delicious but feel light, not heavy at all. It was probably one of the best clam chowder we ever had. The staff was very friendly and tentative, and the dogs get their own individual water bowl upon arrival. Definitely recommended and we will come back again in the future.
Nice view. Close to everything. Service tries hard but may be over burdened. But the food is nothing more than acceptable. It's not a place to go if you want a meal to really enjoy.
Very pricey restaurant. Be prepared to pay $100 for a cocktail and meal for 2. I paired the crab cakes and an order of Brussel Sprouts for my entree. The portion size of the latter was huge-easily shared by 2 or 3. Eating overlooking the marina was nice.
We had an excellent meal, some great wine and our wait person was fantastic.
The seafood tower is like none other! Lobster, crab, shrimp and oysters fresh from the sea. The sushi was fantastic as well and the waterfront view is gorgeous.
Wouldn't recommend for an anniversary, food was not great, our server came once, and the guy took my plate before I was finished
Was good food. Daughter got clam chowder and Mac and cheese. Tasted great. I got some salmon. Fish was good, but coming from Seattle, the portion was small. The potato’s that came with it were good. Just not a fan of the giant plate, tiny portion concept. We paid over $120 for food that would have been either twice the portions or half the price in Seattle. San Diego is not that cool.
Great spot on marina! Food was excellent! The Ultimate Bloody Mary was on point! Could of used on of the heaters, but it was all good!
I had the special seafood fish of the day - swordfish. I'd have to say that it was overcooked. I should have sent it back.
Very pricey for what was served: A salad and fish and chips with ice teas for 2 was $75.
San Diego tourism is really predatory, even for us locals.
Excellent location and very good food. Service was slow and we had to send one of the dishes back as the kitchen had not followed the allergy request. Otherwise very good.
Fish was cooked perfectly! Great service by Chris! Meal served hot. Descent wine selection. Nice outdoor seating.
Took my girlfriend there for her 30th birthday dinner based on other great reviews.. Unfortunately, our experience was poor.
The atmosphere was excellent with the view to the bay and nice yachts. All the staff were friendly from start to finish.
The appetizers came out fast but portion size were small. Grilled octopus came with just 4 small legs for ~$12 (tasted great tho). Shrimp cocktail came with 5 shrimps at $15. Prosciutto salad was small at $15...
I ordered braised short ribs ($37) but that took solid 25 minutes to get to us. Then it was one strip of meat that was overcook and dry. The manager apologized profusely and took it off the check.
I didn't order another entre since it was getting late.
All in all, we spent $80 including tip for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers and a dinner salad. Lol
I would have been fine spending more but the small portion size, time it took and being not worth the wait... We decided to just leave.
Hope our experience & feedback will help them improve their service and food quality.
Food was horrible - will never set foot in there again - cocktails were above average though
Best swordfish I have every had! Beautiful view. Can’t go wrong!
The Halibut open-faced sandwich on Octopus Ink Foccacia was fabulous!
