The ambiance, extraordinary service and fascinating menu creates a cosmopolitan atmosphere producing a dining destination unlike any other in the region. Salar is proud to be a Green Certified restaurant.
This is our second visit to Salar since it reopened and we chose it specifically for our anniversary. The food, the atmosphere, the friendly service (their attention to our anniversary!) all made this such a memorable evening. While its not the cheapest restaurant in town, it is certainly among the best. We'll be back for our next special occasion.
Salar never disappoints so glad they have reopened. Food was magnificent, drinks superb and service wonderful
Best place in town! Pull up to the bar and watch them do their thing. Don’t miss out on the empanadas!
Outstanding service and food. Bartenders were attentive and had solid recommendations. Seared scallops are some of the best Ive ever had.
Great food and cocktails, and excellent service. We love eating at Salar!
One of my favorite places to dine in downtown Dayton.
Professional service from Mark
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, served hot with spicey tomato based sauce.
Our waitress Maureen, I think, she was beautiful inside & out. All the ladies in my party commented about her personality & beauty.
The hostess was great and thanks for taking our picture.
Great food, very popular. So glad it has reopened since the fire damage. Fish was cooked perfectly and cocktails were made just right.
Enjoyed Salar very much. My wife and I went there with some friends for NYE dinner. Everything as terrific! Everything that the chef tried on the menu worked well. We will definitely go back.
This is our favorite Dayton restaurant! We enjoyed our meal on New Year's Eve.
One of the best meals we’ve had. The reboot if anything is better than the original.
Our first time at Salar on New Year’s Eve was fantastically. Sat near the bar, had great service, delicious original cocktails. We highly recommend the seafood empanadas. The Filet Minion and the pork chop were delicious. Reasonable priced for a fine dining restaurant. We will be back again.
Six of us dined at Salar on New Year’s Eve and had a wonderful experience. Their menu offered a wide variety of excellent eclectic choices making it very difficult to choose. We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes. Service was excellent. Noise level moderate. Seats against the wall in the area with black cushions are not very comfortable. Some type of pillows are needed for patrons. Other than that...a great night. Thank you.
New Years Eve
Very nice. Lovely remodel. Very accomodating for my request for table in quiet area due to hearing impairment. Put us in bar area near front of restaurant. Salmon and beef empinadas delicious. Wonderful cocktails! Will be back!
Service was fantastic. Our server was very helpful with food and drink recommendations. We had a nice little table in the back where it wasn’t too crowded.
Excellent meals with great suggestions from the waiter. Smaller rooms with quiet atmosphere. Will go there again soon.
So excited to see that Salar was open again! It was one of our favorite places for food and drinks prior to the temporary closing. However, this time around the place didn't have the same feel and energy as before. Not sure if it was because we went on a Friday evening instead of a Saturday. Perhaps all the fans aren't aware that it has reopened. We are thinking it was perhaps just an off night.
I am definitely going to go back to Salar and highly recommended others visit as well.
Loved this restaurant previously but feel the food quality and overall menu is just not the same since it reopened. Disappointed
Delicious! Such creative and AMAZING food, great drinks, nice atmosphere, wonderful service. It was perfect for our date night. Will definitely be back!
Great personal staff. Very friendly more than accommodating. When I am in town, always my go to for drinks and dinner(my work travels world wide)
Perfect!!!!! Had a wonderful evening with wonderful service during a very crowded holiday weekend!!! I have loved this place since day 1, and fell head over heels again after the remodel!!! Dayton is the coolest little city, and Salar is one of the reading why I love it here!
I had a wonderful time there for my birthday and my server was amazing. Will visit again.
I'm not sure why I made an advance reservation for Salar. They seated us in the bar. Our "server" was also the bar-back. He was nice and tried his best but our food took forever and was cold when it finally arrived. I would expect a forty dollar surf and turf entree to at least be hot. I guess we weren't snooty enough to be treated well here? Our reservations were early (5:30) and it wasn't particularly crowded when we arrived. Total waste of almost two hundred dollars for a dinner for two and NOT the special 50th birthday dinner that I tried to plan for my wife. We were having fun and getting great service down the street at the Trolley Stop earlier that day and we should have just stayed there. I wish I could have the money and the time back.
Excellent night with amazing food
We are so happy that it has finally re-opened. Have been several times, such interesting flavors.
It was a great evening, but for some reason they sat us in a hallway. They said we requested the table. We didn’t, unless Open Tables reservation automatically does that. Overall it’s a beautiful restaurant and has a beautiful atmosphere. The food was fantastic!
Food was fabulous! Service fantastic! Pecan and sage crusted salmon is the best!
Had a "girls" Christmas dinner there.
Had a wonderful time. Everyone enjoyed their dinners.
First visit since they reopened the restaurant after renovations. Loved the food from the appetizer of Empanadas to the Surf & Turf to the dessert Tre Leches Cake. Shrimp, Scallops and Steak were cooked to perfection. My wife and I just love this place.
I wanted a quieter spot for a birthday dinner for 8 and they put us in the bar. When I objected to the tv sports they were quick to turn it into a fireplace on the screen and dimmed the chandelier. We were by ourselves until around 7:30, but were done with dinner by then. Super staff, very hospitable. Food is always superb.
Salar is beautiful! I would definitely recommend it for the food, drinks and the ambiance! Our server was very accommodating and delightful!
All good! Fun spot. Beautiful decor.
Excellent tofu specialty dish.
My wife and I went out for a date night. The food was amazing and service was spectacular. We had reservations for 7:45. When we got there at 7 to have a drink and appetizer at the bar, our table was already ready! The table was a high-top in the bar area, so it was probably a bit louder than the main dining room. I believe most the tables in that area were for two. I had a Manhattan to start the night, very good, but next time I go I will definitely be getting the Hickory Torch, when you go, you'll know what I'm talking about. We shared an appetizer, both got salads, and shared a main. We were full, but didn't take any food home. A little on the pricier side, but worth it for the night out. I don't feel like we over paid, I also don't feel like we got a deal. I can't wait to go back to try some of the other food...well worth it.
Had seen lots of great reviews so tried it out. Very loud inside and close tables so hard to have an intimate dinner. Food was good but not the quality I'd expect for a $39 dish. Service was spotty...waitress very nice but the busy night seemed to keep her from managing time to our table.
We loved the ambience. Best sea bass ever and the pork chop was to die for! We will definitely be back!!!
Overall it was good. Service was a little slow and our soup course was lukewarm. Restaurant was very busy so slowness was understandable. The empanadas were very good
