Salaam Namaste Ratings and Reviews
We (two families) are from Sweden and celebrated a part of New Years eve at Salaam Namaste. Although we did make a reservation this way, the restaurant didn´t know we were coming. But they emediately arranged a table for 9 anyway. And we had a wonderful evening with a suberb service and wonderful indian cuisine. Just as we wanted. Thank You :-).
high priced rip-off. Of the Christmas menu options, only the most expensive one was available. The food/ambiance was not worth £40 each and service tax of 12.5% for a party of 3. Small restaurant with congsetd seating, priced at 5* levels.
Food was good but again not worth the price.
Delicious food: flavorful, aromatic, beautifully presented.
But the service and the overall experience was subpar:
1) Had to wait 30 minutes outside despite having a reservation. Restaurant manager didn't care about having to make us wait. We asked him to help us ordering a cab when we left, and he pretty much ignored the request.
2) Advertised four set menus for Christmas Day, starting at 24.95GBP. Only one was available, priced 39.95GBP. Deceptive advertising is definitely a no-no.
We had a lovely meal here. The menu is varied with some unusual and adventurous dishes. The ambience is very relaxed, the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing and most importantly the food was delicious. The Indian Cab Sav we tried is nothing special but it's good that they support the growing wine choice available.
Food tasted like something out of ready made meal. Everything was too pasty, covered in a thick layer. The whole thing is over priced.
Not one to recommend or revisit.
Good points.Starters was decent though.
And the waitress there was attentive and good with service.
A meal in two halves booked via open table with a £27 voucher
Starters was ok and arrived pretty quickly
And then the mains after a long wait due partly the amount of takeaway trade they do arrived oh no over cooked dry chicken and the portion smaller than the starters but twice the price
So then we went to pay using the voucher only to be told they didn’t deal with open table even though we booked via the app
Will we return No
Would I recommend No
We selected this restaurant based on OT reviews as it a part of London we don't know well, but we were meeting a friend staying near Kings Cross. They offer an excellent menu choice going far beyond the usual Indian restaurant selection as well as a few favourites with a twist.
Service was quite slow and there was some confusion over the bill at the end recognising the OT special offer, but they sorted this out swiftly.
We would certainly go again if we are in that part of London.
We had a great meal!! I was very pleased with all our dishes everything tasted great! And a good variety menu! However when it came time to pay we had a 20% off voucher for our meal. But the staff did not clarify you had to purchase a entree and main per person so we did not get the discount... although we spent a lot more and ordered a lot plus each of us a dessert they didn’t discount. We left a little disappointed we did not get the discount and that they did not help try to discount our dinner
