We love Sala. Friday nights there are especially energetic, but food, service, ambiance - everything stays first rate!
Celebrated my birthday with all the important ladies in my family. The food was amazing and service was on point. Highly recommended.
A nice place to hang for drinks or appetizers with friends. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and classy. The fish dishes were the best overall by consensus in our group though the veggies that accompanied the dishes were smothered in an overwhelming sauce (maybe soy or something similar).
Sala remains a favorite restaurant that never has disappointed us !
Great food and atmosphere! Our waitress was super sweet and accommodated our large loud party.
We went for Coolinary and both had the fish dish. Food was just okay. Service was great and the restaurant itself was nice.
I live very close to the restaurant and for some reason always forgot about it when planning to go out. I wish I had known how good it was sooner. We got there for a 7:30 resv and it was interesting because in about an hour of time it transitioned from lots of families with young kids to an adult night out clientele. I had the Cucumber rose martini and it was fabulous. My husband enjoyed his old fashioned. We both had the coolinary salmon dish and it was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Overall the food was good, the wait staff needs training. We where seated very quickly and that was good, out wait staff came very quickly. I food did not 45 minutes no apologies where given and we had ask the server when we would get our food. We where served the St. James cheese and it just put on the table no explanation as to what was on the tray and the cracker came another 10 minutes later. one of the individuals in my party order an additional glass of wine and it took another 20 minutes. I believe management should have came out and spoke to us after we asked our server where I food. I understand when you under staff, but the a manager should have spoke to us and offer a glass of wine or something. Would not recommend
We ordered appetizers we cancelled that portion of the meal. At the end of our meal the waitress brought us a piece of chocolate cake. We did not order dessert, but the waitress "assumed" that we wanted it! The food was good but the service was not acceptable.
Had a good brunch experience at Sala, enjoying their excellent brunch menu choices and great preparation. Only downsides were a lengthy wait past our reservation time and their failure to do anything recognizing our celebration of one guest’s birthday even though notified in advance. Those items kept this visit from being a five star.
Food was great, service was on point, enjoyable experience as expected from this restaurant group.
We really enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent and the food devine. We will be back to this casual gem in Lakeview.
Duck empanadas were delicious and so was shrimp sandwich- not a potato salad person but overall happy with lunch!
I had a spinach salad with shrimp, so not the best dish to truly sample their cooking. It was good. Shrimp were cooked well. Spinach was fresh. Will be back to try more dishes!
Awesome restaurant and service. This was our third time returning. Excellent value
Had a great time with family. Will return. Good variety on menu & lots of parking.
Reserved a table for 8 for my birthday dinner. Only 5, including myself arrived. Venue was nice and classy. It was quiet Waiter only checked up on us just when necessary.
I chose this restaurant due to a lot of reviews saying they were there for a special occasion & pics made ambience seem classy/casual enough for a birthday dinner. I somewhat expected a little something to make me feel special considering it was my bday. Not sure if restaurant provides some sort of birthday dessert or birthday chant or ANYthing but if it does i wasn’t provided with anything nor addressed as the birthday lady by our waiter/staff.
Food was ok, but wasn’t seasoned enough and everybody in our party agreed their dish needed more seasoning; so we had to doctor it up ourselves using salt/pepper.
I think I would only return again but only as a party of 2 maybe and not with a bigger group of people & not for a special occasion.
2 big parties and very loud. Guest need to have better manners or choose a place that you expect to be loud.
We came from Mandeville to eat here for my husband’s birthday dinner.
Very good food and house wine!!
Our server was friendly and helpful. I forget him name... cute blonde, young guy. Lol
I love the fun and comfortable atmosphere .
We will definitely be back!😊
We always enjoy Sala. The food, service, drinks, everything ----is great!
Everything from service to the food and drinks, never disappointed!
We always love Sala. Never disappointed with the food, drinks or service!
Consistently good food and service. It was very busy for Father's Day, yet we were served promptly and our waiter was attentive.
Love Sala! Went for Father’s Day Sunday Brunch, large crowd, a happy buzz going on, families enjoying the good food in a lovely environment. Our waiter was very pleasant, great service, new menu items added since our last visit. Our food was excellent; we ate every bite. Two thumbs up!
Great value, small plates are good and generous.
Thursday drinks are great value.
Came with a group of 8 colleagues. Very good food, and even though there was a large party in the restaurant, service was also great.
My husband and I purchased a cocktail card a few months back and Sala was the first place on the list. We like going out to the lake for dinner so decided to try it. We were not disappointed. Our server was very friendly and attentive, the food was the perfect size for us to share, we got the spinach artichoke dip and the mixed seafood plate. Oh and the cocktails were very good and strong!
It was nothing to get excited about. I requested a table in the bar area and wasn't sat there. Server didn't explain anything that came on the cheese board we ordered. We had to ask. Cocktails weren't flavorful. Such as a strawberry mojito..has fresh mint but a strawberry syrup in it. Pineapple cilantro margarita was bits of cilantro and pineapple juice. Not impressed at all and I don't have to return
Would go again but not for the Mimosa Brunch!!!
Tasty food, great space. Waiter didn't write down order and of course got it wrong; he fixed it quickly, though. Prices seem a bit high for some dishes, but DO order the cured salmon--huge board of deliciousness for a very reasonable price. Quiet music; we went for a late lunch, and were almost the only party there.
Group of 5. Everything was awesome. We were there before the dinner crowd so the bar was packed but the dining room was pretty empty. Big plus is they have a vegan item in their menu and it was absolutely delicious.
The food at Sala is consistently excellent! It is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans.
The food was excellent. Seasoned just right. We had enough left over for another meal.
Lovely, it was delicious
A little loud for me, but overall the food was very good. It wasn't crowded, easy to park, close to home...it's a nice cozy restaurant.
Delicious food!! Celebrated graduation here!! Then took pics st the lakefront st sunset!
The host and our server were absolutely great and very accommodating. The host, especially, was so friendly and funny (so sad I didn’t get his name). The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant itself was super cute, clean and quiet. We went on a Thursday night and it wasn’t packed at all, which I loved.
The only thing I found weird was that the doors to the bathroom stalls are invasively short. Other than that, I absolutely adored everything about it. Definitely will be returning soon to try more things on the menu.
We went to celebrate Mother’s Day. Other people have had good experiences but we had a bad experience - the service was really bad, didn’t check up on the table and only came when necessary
We ordered an appetizer which took very long to come, and no communication from anyone in the meanwhile. The appetizer finally came 2 minutes before the main meal (apparently it was an issue with many tables) and there was no apology or anything until we asked to speak to the owner
When the food came, one of the fish dishes we ordered cake out uncooked. We had asked other dishes for items to be put on the side, but those were just omitted. The opener kept saying it was a communication issue but it seems to be larger issue of mismanagement and poor service. Overall it was poor experience and one that I Hope NEVER to repeat
Sala - it was our second time dining. Our first time was excellent and actually I had the soft shell crab and I was hoping to have it again and they did but I went with the veal and crawfish sauce and it was absolutely amazing. So we will be back. Thank you. I got so carried away on the food the server was impeccable
