The food was very tasty. We were the only guests in the restaurant at the time and they got 1/3 of our sushi orders incorrect, but my boyfriend said it was good still. The restaurant is in a commercial office building so it’s nice ambiance given that factor. I’d absolutely return for the tasty food.
Unfortunately on Valentines day one of the sushi bar employees was not honoring seating hierarchy for reservations. Our hostess was very apologetic and kind, and gave us a discount for the trouble. Amazing food, amazing service (despite that one inconvenience), great ambiance, very charming decor. Definitely one of my top favorite sushi spots!
My review does not speak to the food as we never ate. We showed up on time for our reservation for a party of 7 but they clearly were not expecting us and told us that they never looked at their Open Table reservations. In fairness, I think they were new to the system. We waited about 15 minutes while they tried to accommodate us. We finally sat down but waited another 15 minutes for a server that never showed up so we left.
High quality sushi restaurant. Definitely better, fresher fish than you find at most sushi restaurants. Great rolls. Spoonful of Happiness is one of my all time favorite dishes, bar none. Nice ambiance in this family run restaurant.
As with most above average sushi shops, you need to bring an extra wallet.
Five of us sharked down seven rolls, six miso soups and one teriyaki chicken dinner.
Fun atmosphere, as well. It's usually busy to hit Open Table for a reservation.
No service after being seated for our reservation for 20 minutes. Then another 30 minutes until our first courses, one of which was wrong. My wife is allergic to spices, waitress was told, and still delivered the wrong item. This is the third and last time. Had to ask for final item, which was forgotten. Left without finishing our food. People at table adjacent were drunk and obnoxious.
Since Sakura is new to OpenTable, the prices on the OpenTable site should match the prices on the menu. The actual menu prices were much higher than what was shown on OpenTable. If you are going to offer mushrooms option in the Miso soup, it should be mentioned that there will be an additional charge and not let us know that it’s in the fine print on the back of the menu when the bill arrives. It was an alright Japanese restaurant but, nothing special and I probably won’t go back unless it’s to try the sushi. We both had entrees.
