Sakoon - Santa Clara
The food flavor & quality both lacked and is no way closer to the branch in Mountain view. Someone rightly said, its bombay garden with a different name. I visited this place for the 1st time and for sure it will be the last. I generally enjoy Sakoon at Mountain view and that place haven't disappointed in terms of food in last 5 yrs. I came in for a Sunday buffet lunch and was seated at the back. Non-vegeterian items were just a so-so and I felt bad that I had to waste everything since it was not worth. The price of buffet is same as Mountain view one but the food and service was way behind.
Overall, never again. Just a waste of money
Everything was perfect. Just thought the entrees were slightly over priced
Awesome restaurent. Love the quality of food and service and ambience and etc etc.
nice food and service. good place for family gathering
Food was really great a little crowded even on a weekday , may be because of the popularity
Great food, good ambiance
Good for get togethers
A little slow service
This is the second time for me at Sakoon, unfortunately it was disastrous.
# Chilli Chiken in starter - cold, chewy, distasteful
# Naan/Bread service at table - 20 mins after we sat down which is extremely slow and this happened twice. We had to refill our food as it was ll cold by then
# Yakhni pulao had no meat.
# Lack of biryani in buffet menu
Bunny our server was great - took excellent care of us and the food was perfect. We were celebrating Fathers Day and could not have picked a better venue.
Stale food! Stay Away!!
There are only two stations for lunch buffet - Non-veg & Veg. There were long lines at both the stations.
Most of the vegetarian curries tasted as if they were made a while ago & slathered with oil, cream to hide staleness. Even rice was oily. That's not normal.
Chicken Tandoori, desserts were decent.
I have also tried Sakoon, Mtn View for dinner. Again the food was too salty & oily with too much cream.
Great food and service. We enjoyed the ambience. A bit expensive though.
Sakoon is an authentic Indian restaurant in Bay Area. It’s good quality is very consistent and is amongst the very few places that hold the standard.
Fabulous food! DO NOT MISS THE GULAB JAMUNS! They are India level - soft and warm and melt in your mouth. We also had Dahi kabab, dal makhani, palak paneer, different types of naan and rumali roti(not as thin as India but decent), Raita, Raj kachori(not as good as India but decent). All the rest were good. Portions of dishes are large! Order accordingly. Food comes fast so can always order more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Way way better than Amber and other local North Indian eateries
Bombay garden with a different name , food is not even close to Sakoon in Mountain View. It was normal/regular buffet with a big price tag.
They ran out of food even before closing time
I went on Mother's day and the had lot of folks and were bit overwhelmed with the demand. So I would have rated them all 5 starts. The food was excellent and very tasty. Would be visiting them often.
Buffet lines we’re unacceptably long. Couldn’t go for seconds. Won’t be back.
It was a fun time at the restaurant with couple friends from work. We tried the buffet and loved it. There could have been more variety in the main course spread. Suggestion: Please add Chicken biryani, Mutton biryani to the buffet menu everyday.
OpenTable reservation was not accepted here. Had to book table after reaching restaurant. 30 mins wait time.
The ambience was great. Great place to go with family and friends. Has both veg and non-veg options with sweets in the end. The manager was very good. I went with an infant and he provided us a very spacious place.
Amazing food for a decent price! I am a Vegetarian, so would defeinitely recommend Vegetarians to try out.
It's a good place to have a family dinner. Food was not too spectacular but decently good.
Decor and ambiance is pretty good and they have remodeled the place.
Everything was beyond our expectations, great exoerience
When I reached the restaurant they said they can’t take us as many people booked through open table and they were not conveyed. Also there were so many people waiting if they wanted they could have followed up with open table and contact each people that they can’t accomodate us. The receptionist also was very rude and was not apologetic at all for this mess. They screwed up my Valentine’s Day.
Excellent buffet. The service was good and quick. They also offered to replace one of the buffet curries with another one coz of dietary restrictions. They offer Jain food which was a plus for the group. Overall nice ambience.
