Yummy food, the plantains were fantastic! It was nice having those since they filled you up more then sushi on its own does. The sushi rolls were a little spendy, but they were good! Nice for a date night
Used to be one of the best Sushi spots in DC, not anymore. Menu and pricing haven't changed, but the sushi quality sure has... service was also poor and many of the saki selections were out of stock. This was the sixth and unfortunately, last time I will dine here.
Was in DC for the night and decided to stop by after seeing all the great reviews. And they were 100% right. The food and drinks were amazing the atmosphere was nice as well. Our server Paul was super helpful as well. Overall 10/10 experience and we definitely plan on returning next time we’re in DC!
So delicious, great service and amazing sushi. cute decor and a nice birthday treat
One of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had
Stellar service and food
Went for our friend’s birthday and sat on the rooftop. Waited over 1.5 hours for our sushi to come. Sushi was pretty average, not worth the expensive price.
My fav place in the city right now. I love it! Great service, great food and I love the rooftop.
Amazing sushi, best I've had in DC so far. The upper level is stunning, go during good weather so that the roof is open. Service was attentive and nice. A great spot for a a nice dinner or date night
Food was good and the ambience is really nice and cosy.
Service not really at expectations.
Delicious food and the best service in perfect ambiance. Carlos was THE best!! Professional and accommodating, while also personable and engaging.
Overall a poor experience!
Waiter was distracted
Good was middle of the road
Things we ordered were forgotten
No one seemed to really give a crap about it either. Super casual about the crappy service.
Too many places in DC to have dinner to endure crappy service for the price. Won’t be back.
Amazing food, especially the sushi wish was delicious and very fresh. Great service too.
Not much of a variety of food, menu is very limited and size of portions are very small
Food was ok - not bad - just like it was “trying to hard” to be different. The sushi was great. fresh, and cut right. The rolls however were so so. Service was solid and the bathrooms and rest of the place was very clean and well organized.
We sat upstairs, it was a beautiful night so the roof was open. The ambience was great! Food was delicious, and the cocktails were great too! It's a quiet date spot but we were a group of 6 and had a great time!
specialty drinks and rolls were great, rooftop environment was incredible.
The Kazan roll , Big Crunch Theory roll, cashew Lime edamame, tostones and churrasca are AMAZING !!!
The elote was really good! The service was alright and the food was the same, Great ambiance!
I had been looking forward to dining at Sakerum for a very long time and unfortunately it did not meet my expectations, which weren’t super high to begin with. My main expectation was great Sushi and it did not deliver. For the steep DC prices, food was average. Super cute restaurant with great ambiance but food was nothing special. Waitress had zero personality and drinks were also bad. I really wanted to love this place but it was a one and done place for me unfortunately.
Drinks menu wasn’t updated. Rolls are cut kid size and 6 pieces not 8.
Good atmosphere. Good food. Waiter spilled soy sauce all over pants but cleaned it and comped drinks. Overall good experience.
Awesome food and spectacular service. I can’t wait to return.
amazing ambience and service was excellent
Love the food, a little pricey but def worth it. I just wish the waitress was a little more attentive, we didn’t get refills on our drinks and it took a little bit for her to come to us.
Wonderful experience. Will definitely be back!
Upstairs roof leaks when it rains
Complimentary sake for our anniversary was very appreciated! Loved the ambiance.
Just not enough value - WAY overpriced. would have expected more from a tasting menu of nearly $100
Went on a Sunday evening, super low key! Sushi was fantastic, hot dishes were served perfectly warm and the drinks were great. New favorite sushi spot in dc
Good neighborhood spot
Upstairs is nice in the sun
In the early evening on weekdays, even when it's 90 degrees outside, evidently they only have their upper terrace open, which the sun hits directly in the summer evening time (think 630pm), and they don't seat people downstairs in the air conditioning until 8pm "if the business picks up," as we were told condescendingly by the manager. They offered to pull down part of their canopy which wouldn't have blocked the sun at the angle it was beating down, and the only ventilation were tiny fans that were angled in such a way as to offer no help.
14th street near U street corridor has many better and more accommodating options, so I voted with my feet and left. Hopefully they'll figure out their customer service model isn't working correctly right now; I had been there before and enjoyed the food. I just don't particularly find the idea of eating raw fish in the blazing hot sun particularly appealing.
great food, service, and ambiance
Great food! Sushi was fantastic but waiters are slow so don’t go for a quick bite.
Food was underwhelming. The biggest turn off was the blue dyed tempura flakes in the sushi for “Pride Month”. It looked gross and was just a huge turn off on sushi. Not a great idea. 2 of the three rolls ordered were yummy though. Brussel sprouts were salty and oily. Calamari was underwhelming.
Great spot. We were sitting upstairs..beautiful!
This was ultimately a disappointment. Food is over priced, and the restaurant was out of two of the particular dishes that I wanted. The rolls and poke we had were good, but for the expectation, the restaurant did not live up to the hype.
The food was Exceptional. And the service was great! Friendly and fast
Came here for my graduation dinner; we booked hours before and were able to get a good table. The food was out of this world, the ambiance was really fun (very loud, though), and it was an overall enjoyable experience. Would def recommend for a weekend night dinner in a small group or date setting.
Service was not great - waited a very long time for our wine and cocktails- and then they cleaned the bathroom with very strong smelling bleach which filled the whole space. Food was good though
