Sake Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation at Sake and arrived a few minutes early. However, they said our table was ready, and the restaurant was not very busy. After sitting at our table for 20 minutes, no one had bothered to come to our table, not even to ask if we wanted water. We pay a babysitter by the hour, so this was very frustrating for us. We decided to leave and go to our favorite sushi restaurant, where we knew we would get good service.
Decided to try this because I love sushi and there aren't many good, fun sushi restaurants in Olathe. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu selection, and everything we ordered was delicious!!! The Wildcat and King Salmon rolls are great. Friendly and competent bar staff too.
The service however was sub-par. The hostess was not friendly as she welcomed us and showed us to the table. There was also a step up to the booth which you can't see very well, and she failed to warn us about that. I tripped because of it and she didn't even say so much as sorry or are you ok. The waiter was also unattentive.
All in all...I would go back just because of the food! I'll learn to deal with the service :)
This was our first visit to this restaurant. The staff was very helpful on what was popular and made recommendations on what to order. The food was good, a few that we didn't like as much as others in terms of sushi rolls, but we tried a few different ones. Will go back to try other items as well as get some we really enjoyed.
Sake Lounge is the best sushi place in the Metro as far as I am concerned. The service is top-notch and the food is fresh. The sushi is skillfully sliced and arranged. Try the volcano roll, super white tuna or just get one of the large assortments and try it all!
I am not able to say enough good things about this fantastic place. The food, service, and the food is just amazing and yes I said food twice because it's that good. The owner Sean has done an amazing job with this and I always look forward to going back to this place.
My friends and I wanted a spot for a late dinner to catch up with each other. The service was great, attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu, made great recommendations she was awesome. I don't really enjoy fish, but my friends love it and even though it's a sushi place there was something for me too. Overall can't wait to go back.
The sushi was really good, however the service was really slow. I'm not sure if this was because they were busier than normal, since it was a holiday, but it didn't look that crowded. It took at least 30 minutes just to get our drinks! However, once the food came, we were pleasantly surprised. Nice assortment of sushi and the vegetable tempura was delish!
This was our second visit which is because the first was very good. Server was not attentive nor did they pay attention to details. Specifically we ordered a molten lava cake for desert which came to our table almost frozen and the appetizer my wife had still had cold sections as if the item had not been cooked/warmed all the way. Since this is the first bad experience of the two times, we will give the restaurant another try. It's nice to have something like it in the neighborhood. Hopefully we can get the waitress we had the first time.
Was looking for a place close to our Overland Park house for sushi other than the Leawood establishments and found Sake on my phone with Urbanspoon. We had an enjoyable evening. My husband and I shared a sushi boat and found both the nigiri and rolls to be quite tasty. We had sake sangrias from the bar. The restaurant has a club vibe.
Nice place to have dinner dates. We had a group of 6 and reserved our table with OpenTable. It wasn't very busy so reservations were not needed but it was nice to walk in and have the table already set up for our group.
The prices of the food are very reasonable. The sushi is excellent. Service was amazing, our drinks were never empty and our requests were filled promptly.
My wife and I had dinner at Sake. It was our first time there and hoped that we found a good sushi bar. We were not disappointed. I had a seaweed salad and the sashimi platter. All I can say is WOW!! The seaweed salad was properly dressed and not oily like served at many spots. The sashimi plate was an artistic delight and the sashimi was as if I was on a dock eating fish straight from the sea. The portions were large. My wife had three different rolls and she raved about each one delighting in their composition The service was excellent. Our server had abit of a problem explaining a dish but quickly sought out an explanation for us. We have been trying to find a sushi bar with top notch fish(a tough thing in KC) and we succeeded
You will not be disappointed!!! The owner is extremely focused on making this a premier place to enjoy in Kansas City area. The food looks and tastes great. As fresh as you can possibly get in the midwest and rivals if not beats most of the WAY more expensive places I have ate at all over the country.
