Food is so good and the musics is always on point!!
The food is over priced for what it is. American soul food should not be over $30 per meal. It was delicious but pricey. It also took a long time for food to be served.
Great wait staff and a special shout out to Andre and his exceptional customer service!!!
The food and drinks were good but the bill was absolutely ridiculously outstanding. Two apps (cheese board and brussel sprouts), a couple drinks and a $130 bill?! *Not* including a tip! Nope. The service was amazing and on point though…appreciated the manager (or host?) approaching and asking how things were. Would recommend but only for a drink and as long as they bring $$$
Our first time at Saje was November 2020 - it was our first restaurant experience since covid and it was amazing! The drinks were tasty and strong, the 2000s hip hop made us want to dance and the food was on point. We've tried to get back several times but plans kept falling through, till now...
We went on NYE Friday, for dinner before a party. The staff are all very friendly, the drinks were good and the setting is nice with blue mood lighting. The music though... It was mostly 80s-early 90s soul love songs, which I LOVE but not when it's NYE, but I digress cuz I still liked it LOL The food was great again - we actually got the same thing as last time cuz it was so bomb: shrimp & grits and chicken & waffles. Here's the only downside - the prices were outrageous!! $34 for chicken and waffles, $18 for an app of street corn, $59 for a sirloin steak, $15 for mixed drinks! OMG these are higher than some of the best Italian restaurants in PVD!!! We honestly skipped apps and dessert because of the prices. Two drinks and two entrees = $106
We dine out alot, everything from wieners to Mills Tavern or Camille's so, it's not the cost of the tab, it's just that we shouldn't be paying double what they charged a year ago for the same things. We really like Saje but, with these prices, we literally weren't even out the door before we said we won't be back. Sorry guys.
Aside from them changing the one menu item to something I can no longer eat, it was a pricey meal, with slow service.
This place is by far the worst eatery on federal hill. The food was rubbery, the service was below par and the drinks were awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In addition to this the food was highly priced. Overall 1/10
The food was overpriced for the quantity and quality. There were a total of six people in the restaurant, yet they managed to forget to make chicken for one of our salads and served the one of us while we waited for the second. I understand that accidents happen, but with no one in the place, and $55 for two salads, one would think they’d have it together in the kitchen. The atmosphere wasn’t to my liking. The music was way too loud and very dark.
Get together and birthday celebration! Fantastic experience highly recommend!
We went to celebrate a birthday, it came highly recommended as a venue. Our hostess was absolutely lovely. The kitchen sent out a beautiful birthday dessert. The downside was that they were out of several of the menu items that were listed for the evening… And it was still very early into dinner service. We left after one round of drinks and appetizers in order to go someplace to actually eat dinner.
The food was amazing especially the wings, chicken & waffles. Great service and ambiance. I look forward to visiting again!
Had heard great things but ultimately not impressed. The bartender was great but drinks were so so as was the food. The atmosphere was lacking; barley any music and although it’s nice inside it was boring. We won’t be back
Saje has been on my list of places to visit and the 45mins drive from Boston was definitely worth it! It was my goddaughter’s 14th birthday and we had Sunday brunch at Saje. Our waitress Azariah was AMAZING!!! Very pleasant, cheerful and accommodating! The cheesy grits were delicious and you can never go wrong with bottomless mimosas! The passion fruit mimosa was soooo good!!! My sister had the chicken & waffles and it was totally drool worthy! Azariah was very kind and helped surprise my goddaughter with a slice of red velvet cake. It was the perfect Sunday brunch and I will definitely be back! Thank you for bringing great vibes and I am super proud of this black owned restaurant!
My new favorite spot
Always a hit! With large floor-to-ceiling window treatments at the front of the establishment, the atmosphere is something you feel BEFORE you even enter the restaurant. The cool aesthetic meets you at the door and welcomes you into what is sure to be a night of great food, fun with friends or family, and music. Not one single detail is overlooked, from the menu to the quality of food and drinks...and someone is putting love in to the "sounds". More than once, I caught myself swaying to the music selection as I anticipated my next bite of the tangy, but sweet Hennessy wings or perfectly grilled salmon. I'm sure it also had something to do with the Cinderella Story cocktails or Lychee martinis. Dinner at Saje is always a win/win for me and I will continue to bring out-of-town guests here when I want to show them the best that Providence has to offer on Atwells.
The service really put it over the top. Food was delicious. Vegan options too!! Highly recommend the brussel sprouts
A vibe and Providence gem. A hint of NYC!
The food was decent but overpriced, we sat at the bar and it was really hard to get the bartender to serve us. The music was loud which I didn’t mind but personally I wouldn’t go back.
Parents weekend. Great brunch.
I literally try go to Saje AT LEAST once every 1-2 weeks it’s one of my favorite places I brought my best friend there for dinner last night and he loved it as much as I do every time. The food is amazing and the ambiance is really chill but it’s the people who work there that do it for me they’re all really nice it’s always a 10/10 for me!
Wonderful staff great food drinks & hookah ❤️
The servers were very good, food taste really good, music is popping.
Not what it looks like in the photos, it was an overwhelming experience + not so great food.
The food was fantastic! Great service too!
Horrible experience worst service and overpriced for quality.
Great food - a little loud
Amazing , outstanding !!! The food was great, the music was great, the waitress and owner were so pleasant, 10/10 highly recommended
I went to Saje with a couple of my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday and the experience exceeded our expectations! First of all, the interior decor and the bar are beautifully appointed and very welcoming. Overall, it’s a modern aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. Our server, Etta, was very attentive and friendly. She made great recommendations for cocktails, appetizers, and main dishes. The owners, Andre and Ian, came to our table and greeted us personally…making the experience even more fun and enjoyable. All of the dishes appeared just like the images we saw online and everything tasted wonderful. We are planning to go again soon, probably on a Thursday night, when Saje offers half-priced cocktail pitchers.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend so we gave it a try. We were seated immediately upon arrival and greeted by the waitress who was very nice. We ordered drinks and appetizers but the wait was unusually long for both even though there was only one other table that was occupied by another party.
After a long wait the appetizers came out but were cold.
The Calamari was sparse and contained more peppers than squid. It was probably less than a half order. The only highlight for me were the chicken skewers until I had to pull a long hair out of my mouth and at that point lost my appetite.
We were not charged for that appetizer but the bill was still over $200 for 3 appetizers, 2 burger entrees, 1 lobster Mac and Cheese for$35 and 1 BLT entree.
The entree’s did not come out together and were bland so we asked for boxes to take them home.
Overall, to be completely honest I would not go back to this restaurant based on this first visit with my family.
Additionally, if you are looking for a good reasonably priced restaurant in the Atwells Ave area that serves great food at great prices there are many but based on this first visit Sage Kitchen is not one of them. Just my opinion.
Great experience! I will be coming back very soon!
It was a really disappointing experience. The music was so loud we could not hear the waitress and it was impossible to hear each other across the table. The quality of the food was not worth the price - grits was clumpy and shrimp over cooked. My husband ordered a “loaded burger” that was beyond well done that it was “crispy” and most of the loaded items missing. When he brought it to the waitress’s attention she said “ok” and disappeared. We will not be returning.
Menu completely changed from what is posted online. Walked out. Caused us to waste an hour looking for somewhere decent to eat.
Awesome food! Great service! Took my partner out for her birthday, and she enjoyed herself.
Amazing food, nice atmosphere, perfect music…. Food and drink times are alittle too long on both occasions that’s the only not so nice thing about this place but if they could work on that it would be top tier !!!!
Nice location. Wine selection by the glass was limited. Food was average. Nothing really stood out for me…except for the very loud music playing.
I went out for a date, & Saje Kitchen ended up being more than what I expected. From the welcoming host to the comforting r&b music, everything was a 15/10. I am excited to return whenever I am around Providence! It will definitely be on my “To-do” list, as it checks off all of the boxes.
Enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere, and the staff are polite and friendly. Just be aware that they are a craft kitchen, so everything is made from scratch and takes a while to cook. Our food took 1.5 hours to come out for a group of 5.
We went to Saje Kitchen for Father’s Day brunch and it blew our minds. The decor was lovely and modern, but still cozy. They had the best playlist, RnB vibes. The staff was so nice and accommodating. They pride themselves on their expertise with southern cuisine and they really deliver. Amazing food and craft cocktails. Can’t wait to go back!
Beyond my expectations! Everything was just amazing !!
Food was fantastic, highly recommend, and came out very fast. Our service was awful though, we had to go searching for our waitress for drinks, water, the tab, it was frustrating.
