Saison is a two Michelin-starred, open wood fire restaurant under the leadership of Executive Chef Richard Lee, emphasizing the bounty of California’s evolving terroir and its incredible farmers, ranchers, and fishermen and women. Saison is driven by Lee’s dedication to purity and innovation, paired with a Grand Award-winning wine list in a dynamic space where guest and team celebrate an intimate, culture-shifting experience. Chef Lee builds upon Saison’s formidable foundation as the original fine dining establishment in the U.S. to use open hearth cooking, crafting nuanced flavors with intention that are inspired by the culinary diversity of Northern California.

Saison has one of the country’s largest and most remarkable selections of Old and New World wine, with a special emphasis on Burgundy, originally established by Saison Hospitality co-founder and Saison Winery winemaker Mark Bright and now curated by Beverage Director and Assistant General Manager Molly Greene.

    We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here and it was a perfect place for it - amazing food and service with many unique and beautiful small touches to make it a special evening.

    We are regular at Saison and even though I go quite often, the food is always different. For certain, the food quality is always top notched. Your palates will be pleased and teased with different texture, taste, and temperatures. Your eyes will be pleased with beautiful food presentations starting from plates, cups, knives, forks, and spoon. Your nose will be whipped by beautiful aroma of herbs and spices in the food. The service was excellent, attentive but not in your face. my glass is filled with water even though I was not aware of it being emptied. The servers knew and explained clearly where the food come from, how it is prepared. Chef Lee is the best chef ever. Saison should really be 3 Michelins.

    Dinner was amazing from start to finish. We got a tour of the kitchen. All of the staff from front of the house to back were impeccable. 100% recommend and will go back

    Saison is an absolutely top-shelf experience from beginning to end, starting with stunningly beautiful, surprising, and delicious ingredient combinations in their small bites and then continuing with every course thereafter. They spotlight small local producers and eclectic artisanal tableware and go out of their way to make your table feel like it's the only one in the restaurant. This is a marvelous place for a special occasion - or if you just want to feel special. We've been twice and will go again!

    completely uninspiring at $780 for two. had to wave down a waiter after 15 minutes.

    I gave myself the Bar Experience as a birthday gift. The appetizers (4 or 5 different ones) were all incredibly presented-akin to works of art and were SO tasty. We had 2 supplements, caviar and the waygu beef-I would definitely order these again. The dessert was a deliciously complex chocolate thingie. I had a cocktail with rye and also in incredibly smooth Japanese whisky, Hakashu, 12 yr. Next time I will come for the FULL experience (once I save up enuff ducats) Thank you, Saison (and Peter) for a lovely birthday celebration (the canelé to take-away was a lovely surprise!)

    Briefly, Saison was incredible. For sure an unforgettable dining experience. Even before our reservation, maybe a day or two before, the staff at Saison called us to confirm our dietary preferences/ restrictions in-depth. That was nice since they clarified what we meant in our reservation! On the reservation day, we were running a few minutes behind, so notified them via OpenTable . They responded immediately saying NBD! When we got there, we waited at the bar and were presented with a nice menu specifically for Mocktails. The bartender explained every nuance of the drinks we inquired about. Pretty cool. Even the water was refreshingly extra good. When we got to the actual table, the staff prepped it with a greeting card, enclosed in an envelope that was sealed with those old fashioned melted rubber things. They gave a knife with it so that we can open it. Of course we had no idea what the knife was for but we just tore it open 😅 Also, we were sat in front of the kitchen. It was cool to see the chefs doing their thing. Wasn’t stressful like the “The Bear”. The actual courses were insane. Each course preceded by a full in-depth explanation as to the sourcing and preparation of the course. I mean I can’t explain how good it was so I won’t try. I guess what I can say is that the food “flowed well”. We were stuffed by the end. We took pictures in the kitchen 😊. The staff gave us a goodie bag to take with us. So yes, my wife and I loved experiencing our first anniversary here and for sure will be coming back for more special events.

    Very good restaurant with a nice and seasonal food. The food is well equilibrated and the evolution of the plates are good. Correct equilibrium with wines (not all of them). The kitchen is open and you can visit it. The only thing that we have not really appreciated is that you have two aquarium with crabs, and fishes just close of you. Another small point is that, a gastronomical restaurant should have people that explain well the plates in different languages and was not exactly the case (we had somebody who treated to explain as well in spanish and french but, even, we learned some words to them)

    Great food, wonderful service, lots of fun. Not cheap. Awesome bathroom. The only complaint I had was the music playlist—didn’t really seem to go with the overall experience. Definitely worth it.
