I have had dinner, with friends, at the restaurant a number of times, and the food has always been extraordinary. When a group of 6 wanted a restaurant with excellent food and service, I immediately thought of St. Jacques. Five of the six of us had the St. Jacques seafood crepe, and it was quite spicy and salty. Four of the six diners had the profiteroles, and the pastry was over baked, and the ice cream was so hard it was difficult to cut into without the scoop skittering across the plate. Lunch was good, but not the quality I have come to expect from St. Jacques.
Everything was top notch, superb, wonderful, fantastic, etc. from the soup to the dessert and all the tastings in between.
It was everything we had hoped for! The food was delicious and the service was great!
Fantastic! Wonderful service and some of the most authentic French cuisine in the area. 10/10!
Awesome food and wine. We had a great meal and will be back.
My wife had the fish and I had the steak both were excellent. The service was outstanding as usual.
My wife and I have eaten at Saint Jacques three times now and will continue to frequent this lovely restaurant in the future. The cuisine reminds me of meals we have enjoyed in Europe and the atmosphere is very inviting. Chef Serge makes the entire dining experience very pleasurable.
Simply the only and MOST French place to feel exquisitely fed. The pate reminded me of pate I used to buy at the Paris farmer's market. The Coquille St. Jacques was better than kissing Nick Jonas and the duck was juicy, rare and divine. Great place to get engaged or divorced, either way the food will guide you to more heavenly float.
Our dining experience at Saint Jacques was nowhere near as exceptional as our past visit. M6 husband never received his second course, my main course (Duck) came overcooked. I very clearly and specifically requested medium rare and it came not even a little pink in the middle. His main course (short ribs) were a bit dry and oddly bland. The service was not particularly bad or good. The best part of the meal was the amazing amuse boush, brought to the table by the very pleasant chef.
The food here is just outstanding and the service impeccable. We went for New Years Eve so they had a set menu. I would say it wasn’t as good as their normal menu, but I think that is typical for any restaurant on such a busy special occasion night. The chef came out and spoke to every table which was amazing. They always have some kind of savory crime brûlée which is to die for.
We went here for New Year's Eve. While the food was nice, it wasn’t anything special; below our very high expectations for this restaurant. Given how expensive the meal was, the quality-price-ratio was not terribly high. It’s doubtful that we’ll return here.
Fabulous food in a romantic setting. The service was exceptional . A visit from the chef was a great touch. I'd recommend it to anyone who has a special occasion planned.
Favorite restaurant in the Triangle - love the atmosphere and the food!
Chef Serge is an outstanding chef! We thoroughly enjoyed the joyful flavors of every bite! We felt like we were wining and dining in downtown Paris. The decor, French and English speaking chef, excellent service, etc. They’ve thought of it all! I would highly recommend dining there so you can experience firsthand the empecible quality of food Chef Serge provides. What an experience. Thank you for the wonderful Parisian feel! Amazing!
Everything was top-notch. The food was excellent, with a nice mix of flavors and a twist on French classic dishes. The service was excellent. A lovely experience! We’ll be back.
We visited this restaurant for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! Dinner was served in courses over an hour and a half. Excellent!
Another lovely dinner. We really enjoyed the Salmon ravioli appetizer in the light cream sauce!!!!
Delicious food with amazing service! Everything was cooked to perfection and authentic French cuisine. This is our new favorite restaurant in Raleigh!
A calm in a storm of “get it done, let’s wrap this Christmas up”. Didn’t know of Saint Jacque picked it because 1. it was near by and 2. French Resturants are about cheif’s potentials and a dining experience. You will not be disappointed. Great atmosphere. No cackling groups on expense accounts since most of Raleigh’s fine dining as become entertainment. Good job kitchen and staff! Was a good find.
3rd time... we save for special occasions. Menu is varied and lots of local sourcing. Service is great... food is even better. We will return.
Amazing food. Will definitely be going back!! Our waitress was awesome!!
Excellent in every way. Whenever I go to Raleigh I make an effort to eat here. True French in a relaxed, white tablecloth, kind of way
This is by far the best French restaurant we've been to. The food and wine were amazing, and the chef was out visiting tables and serving the granite between courses as well as serving the lovely savory creme brulee before the dinner. It was such a great experience. Highly recommend.
It's become my spouse and my anniversary tradition. Takes me back to Paris. I'm continuously amazed that you can find french cuisine that good in Raleigh, NC.
I took my significant other to Saint Jacques before attending the ballet. If you are looking to set the mood for a romantic, luxurious evening, then this is the place to go. While the pricing definitely requires a “splurge”, it is my opinion that the food, atmosphere, and wait staff all make it entirely worthy.
Very good lunch menu with appropriate by the glass pairing. Mussels, torchon, crepes and dessert we're excellent. Definitely will return for dinner!
Chef came out and talked with us - felt very special for him to take time out of his busy kitchen duties
Every interaction with all staff made us feel welcome. The food and atmosphere are top notch!
Simply outstanding ... food is remarkable, and service world-class ... setting is a little humdrum (strip mall storefront) but in every other way this place is simply delightful.
Best desert I have ever had. Get the chocolate Smore
Food was very average. Frog legs appetizer was good. Main course was a total disappointment (tasteless). Dessert (profiteroles) was really bad. Service was good, but the waiter came to me at least four times asking me if everything was alright. I think a couple of times would be enough. Ambiance was good. The big minus was the food, it's just wasn't good for a French restaurant.
We dined here, a group of 4, during the Thanksgiving weekend, which may have impacted our experience negatively as business was slow and so was the energy level. The food was variable: mussels notably good, pastries below par and other dishes in between. Service was competent, atmosphere pleasant but lacking energy. All-in-all, the experience was not up to high prices.
A wonderful evening of excellent food, awesome service (Ryan is the best!), and great cocktails and wine! A must experience!
We went to celebrate our 35th anniversary and Saint Jacques did not disappoint. From the savory creme brullee starter through the sweet creme brullee dessert, each dish was expertly prepared and memorable. While the main dishes were the stars, the sides for each of our meals were particularly luscious - the sign of a true fine dining experience. Definitely a place to go when you want to celebrate a special occasion!
We’ve dined here several times and have throughly enjoyed the food. In addition the service is could not be better, attentive but not overwhelming.
There are not enough superlatives to describe the excellent food and dining experience. We will return again and again. Thanks very much.
Took my wife and in-laws there to celebrate her 40th birthday and we were all very satisfied with the food and service. Chef Serge Falcoz-Vigne came out to greet and present us with tasty dish, which was awesome. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting fine dining for a classy evening.
excellent restaurant, great food , good value
simply the best French cuisine in Raleigh, hands down. A great dining experience
One of the best fancy restaurants I've found in the triangle.
