Dining at Saint Jacques French Restaurant was extraordinary. The ambiance was evident when we first entered the restaurant. The waitress and other staff were responsive, and engaging as people, not just our wait staff. Even so, the service was excellent. The food also was extraordinarily delicious. From the onion soup and mussels to the filet mignon, our enjoyment was evident. My guess would be that there are some wonderful parallels between dining here and dining in a fine Parisian restaurant. Merci !
Once again St. Jacques did not disappoint us for our wedding anniversary meal. We were very pleased with our attentive and humorous server. The recently redecorated restaurant seemed more spacious. We loved the new color scheme. We will absolutely be back as soon as we have another occasion.
We live in VA but love to come to St. Jacques for special occasions. The food is outstanding and the service is wonderful. A perfect 10 year anniversary!
It's not often you come across authentic French Cuisine having distinct Vegetarian options. The chef has put a lot of thought into creating good vegetarian menu with vegan variants. Their service is impeccable and they are very accommodating with dietary restrictions. Don't miss out on the desserts. This place is quaint and comfortable. If you are looking for a fine French restaurant for a date-night or a special occasion, this is the place to be.
This was my second time here, and the food does not disappoint. I would highly recommend!
This restaurant never disappoints! The cuisine far surpasses any other in Raleigh. The staff is knowledgeable and have great attention to detail. I cannot say enough of Saint Jacques, it is a must for anyone who wants the perfect, delicious dinning experience
Food was wonderful. My wife who lived in Paris, said it was very authentic. Would go back the next time we were in Raleigh.
Our dining experience at Saint Jacques was top notch. Our wine recommendation was superb. The food was exquisite. The service was professional & warm. A slice of heaven in a busy location.
Superb food, served perfectly in elegant surroundings.
We were looking for a affordable fine dinning birthday dinner, this place was perfect on all counts. We loved it!
Saint Jacques is a classy place with excellent service and superb French dishes. Tout était délicieux!
Great experience overall! Worth the hour drive! From the moment we walked in was like being transported to France. The food was delicious and service was outstanding!
Great food everything was so delightful and authentic French
Location is in strip mall, which adds some noise/traffic and, at times, bright headlights thru the store front if you sit towards the parking lot. Not your romantic type evening environment, but is okay for a nice dinner with others.
Food is good and of high quality. Tables seemed a bit small for 3-4 people to sit at.
I would go again.
This restaurant was small and cozy. The food was prepared very well. It is a very formal restaurant which I am sure some people would really enjoy but I found it to be a little stuffy for my personal preference.
Some items are overpriced for what it is as well as very little accompaniments. the sweetbreads were not very appetizing and not very good or prepared for a French restaurant.
The food is delicious. The service even better! Great wine selection. I would definitely go back.
Our second visit to St. Jacques and this time we brought our teenage sons, who always appreciate fine food. The meal was excellent, as expected, and the boys were sure that this had to have been their best dining experience in Raleigh, if not anywhere. Highly recommended for a special occassion.
The food was superb. There were unusual selections including the frog legs that they made to taste just like lobster. I loved the lamb. My wife had the salmon. Delicious. The waiter was awesome. He really knew how to pamper the customers. Sorbet and creme brulee were spread out between the courses. Oh, and the bread, so tasty and unique! Very interesting and fun evening.
Service was absolutely incredible! The food was marvelous!
We started with the cheese platter delivered by Chef Serge himself. Each cheese was better than the last!
Then we tried Escargot and Mussels for hot appetizer. They were both flavorful and delicious.
I ordered the Fillet de Boeuf. It was perfectly medium rare and all the components on the plate were made for each other, specially the black truffle sauce!
For dessert, you need to try the S’mores version they have! It was incredible!
What a superb dinner! Well done Saint Jacques!
Everything was amazing - we could not have had a better meal or better service.
Our evening at Saint Jacques was perfect in every way. The food was outstanding, the wines were absolutely for our meals, and the service was throughly professional. We look forward to our next visit, confident that it too will be up to the high standards that Saint Jacques consistently maintains.
Wow, fabulous food, great service and a wonderful dining experience. We will go back and enjoy this fine restaurant again
Absolutely astounding first French cuisine experience! Especially the bread! Expensive, yes. Worth it? Yes! For a special occasion, prepare to be spoiled (great waitstaff), surprised (small samples from the chef) and immersed in a gorgeously presented, perfectly cooked, delicious delight! We loved it!
Fantastic meal and great service! Great restaurant for a nice meal or a special occasion!
We went after Valentines Day for a nice dinner and the experience was better than anticipated. The food was excellent, deserts were great, and the staff did a nice job of being attentive without being obtrusive. I wanted to go here for a long time and I am glad we did. We will be back again soon.
The best quality of food and service in the local area. So pleased! Highly recommend.
The sweetbreads were amazing. We got our picky eater friends to try and the loved. Duck was terrific as were braised short ribs bourginon. Flounder special side sosh very good but sauce on fish not as good as meat dishes. This is such a good French restaurant
Always spectacular - everything delicious - bread, appetizer, salad, entrée, dessert, complimentary cookies...never a disappointment. Serge comes out to ask about your meal. Our go-to for special occasions and romantic dates. Bon Appetit!
Very overrated. The decor is dated, service was lacking, and food was mediocre. Don’t forget very overpriced. My recommendation, go somewhere else and enjoy better food at a cheaper price.
Food was great, service was great. We especially loved the personal touch from the chef who presented guests with an amuse bouche. Great experience!
This was our first time at Saint Jaques. We were greated at the door and the hostess offered to take our coats. It was still early in the day and there were only a few tables occupied.
We had the soup du jour which was a delicious cream of cauliflower with mushrooms. The entrees were very good (oh, and the breads were tasty) and my wife loved the creme brulee and I had the chocolate mouse. We will be back!
These days, this is just about the top restaurant in the Triangle. It's real-deal French cooking done with consummate elegance and flair. If you haven't been here for dinner, it's overdue to rectify that mistake. Bon Appetit!
The service and food was outstanding. The attention to detail at this restaurant was top-notch.
Wow- what a great little find in North Raleigh. The service was impeccable, the food was to die for and overall, this was a great experience. I wish this was in a stand alone building or some place besides a small shopping center- the Girl Scouts selling cookies directly outside the window was the only thing that reminded us that we were not actually in France. Pricey, but perfect for a special occasion. We will be back!
A lovely evening. Attentive staff, exquisite food. We especially enjoyed "the extras": an amuse-bouche, the granite, the birthday dessert in the shape of a swan. Attentive staff, lovely cozy atmosphere. Fantastique!!
Don't judge a book by its cover. Once inside you'll be impressed by the great food and cozy environment. Good service. Pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
First time here and it was worth it. Outstanding food and service.
Having spent some time working in France I was interested to know if this restaurant in NC, USA would be authentic. I was not disappointed. From the actual food and presentation to the small touches eg complimentary starters. C'est fantastique.
Saint Jacques is a dining experience - not just a great dinner.
The appetizer, entree, and dessert choices are excellent offering various freshly prepared culinary selections.
Make reservations in advance to secure the time you'd like; by design Saint Jacques does not fill their restaurant - I understand each order is prepared from scratch - giving the chef the time and individual attention needed to create a delectable meal.
Periodic visits from management is also a nice touch.
In between courses we enjoyed the savory bread selections, a glass of wine, and at times little treats via compliments of the chef.
