Saint Jacques French Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our lunch at Saint Jacques. Their Orange Thyme Old Fashioned was very good, and the seafood crepes and salmon were cooked very well. The service was far more formal than what you can expect in even the nicest of restaurants around here. It's a rather small place, so it was not noisy at all, even as it filled up. This would be a great place for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
We went for New Year's Eve, to a 5 course meal, and of course we were NOT disappointed! No one could create a (NC) crab terrine like Serge can. The pork cheeks terrine was the other first course choice and was a grand way to taste pork cheeks (also locally sourced). Our group experienced both the lobster/butternut soup and the onion gratin' soups. Delicious! Then we had to choose between the shrimp and scallops St Jacques (wonderful) or a petite beef filet in a decadent burgundy sauce topped with a combination of buttered bread crumbs and blue cheese. Again, only by Serge! Dessert was a choice of vanilla crème brulee or a melt in your mouth apple/butter cookie delight. If you want to eat French food in Raleigh, this is the ultimate experience. Thanks to the chef and all his fantastic staff.
I never write OpenTable reviews, but I will for Saint Jacques.
We got a tip to head to Saint Jacques almost a year ago and it just completely slipped our minds. My girlfriend loves French food and we have been all over France, so we have some experience of authentic French cuisine. My girlfriend says that this was one of her best meals in her life.
The location is unusual as it is in a strip mall, but if that keeps away too many people, I hope it stays in its current spot. Great atmosphere, AMAZING food, super attentive service, Chef came out and greeted us.
This is a gem in Raleigh, and I hope you all give it a try, but don't go too many times, because we need a table too!
The food was amazing. The staff was very attentive. We were a bit disappointed with our server. We had over half our meal that we had asked to be boxed up to take home. We paid the bill and forgot about it until we got about half way home. That was disappointing,. Other than that, it was a lovely evening.
Over many visits, the cuisine, service, and overall experience at Saint Jacques have been consistently outstanding, and this evening was no exception. Our out-of-town guest was making her first visit, and she loved the restaurant. Our small party of three had three different entrees, each of which was done to perfection. It was a splendid evening, from start to finish!
An outstanding luncheon from beginning to end made possible through our lovely server Marielle who exuded the personality and class of this fine dining restaurant. All of our presentations from the kitchen were not only lovely to look at, but a treat for the our taste buds.
St. Jacques is truly a gem.
Saint Jacques is a local gem. Ignore the cheesy strip mall locale because once you're inside, it's an altogether different world; a warm, cozy, and quietly formal atmosphere that hints at the high quality of the food, wine, and service. Not a cheap date but highly recommended nonetheless.
St Jacques gives a true French dining experience without the travel trouble, time required and expense of travelling to France (although we love doing that also). The Chef came by, was very personable and interested in how much we enjoyed the experience. The food, presentation, service and ambiance were all outstanding! A lovely evening with friends.
The server, Caitlin, was outstanding with a great sensitivity to her customers and was thoroughly professional. She definitely gets 5 stars.
The food was very delicious and beautifully presented as usual with one small disappointment .
The pork chop on which the delectable grits rested was a bit touch.
WHen you enter, you have left Raleigh behind and entered a cafe in France. The soft French music, white table cloths, charming decor and wonderful smells set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable gastronomic experience. THe friendly and professional staff gave us the privacy we needed to enjoy our cocktails and meal, yet anticipated our every need keeping our water glasses full and our bread plates overflowing. The meals were mouth watering and were followed by a table side visit from the delightful French chef. We look forward to a return visit soon.
We were thrown off by the location. It's in a shopping strip with a Harris Teeter. However, once you go inside it's definitely a fine dining atmosphere. The food was exceptional, the service was perfect, and the atmosphere was lovely. The chef came around to each table personally. We really enjoyed our experience. Only negative is I felt the brown butter ice cream was a bit grainy. All the flavors and presentations were perfect.
My parents I went to Saint Jacques to celebrate my birthday. The entire night was delightful, from the orange blossom sorbet that came as a surprising palette cleanser, to the chef's gracious visit to our table to greet my parents. If you are looking for a wonderful meal served by a team that sincerely wants you to have a wonderful experience, then Saint Jacques is for you!
We have been fans of this restaurant for years. Since the change in ownership and chef, it has only gotten better! The new chef, Serge, is friendly , so very accommodating to his customers and extremely talented. His food is creative and authentic French. We had the onion soup, pate, mussels and rack of lamb and everything was exceptional. The wine list is also quite nice; they do also offer cocktails as well as French wine. I recommend this restaurant very highly.
