French Native Serge Falcoz-Vigne is the Chef with 30+ years of experience in the hospitality business in both France and in North Carolina. Also as a General Manager of the restaurant, he can provide to the guest a total experience from the kitchen to the floor with renowned French food and service. Saint Jacques was voted one of the OpenTable Top 100 restaurants in the country for 2016.

We were thrown off by the location. It's in a shopping strip with a Harris Teeter. However, once you go inside it's definitely a fine dining atmosphere. The food was exceptional, the service was perfect, and the atmosphere was lovely. The chef came around to each table personally. We really enjoyed our experience. Only negative is I felt the brown butter ice cream was a bit grainy. All the flavors and presentations were perfect.
My parents I went to Saint Jacques to celebrate my birthday. The entire night was delightful, from the orange blossom sorbet that came as a surprising palette cleanser, to the chef's gracious visit to our table to greet my parents. If you are looking for a wonderful meal served by a team that sincerely wants you to have a wonderful experience, then Saint Jacques is for you!
We have been fans of this restaurant for years. Since the change in ownership and chef, it has only gotten better! The new chef, Serge, is friendly , so very accommodating to his customers and extremely talented. His food is creative and authentic French. We had the onion soup, pate, mussels and rack of lamb and everything was exceptional. The wine list is also quite nice; they do also offer cocktails as well as French wine. I recommend this restaurant very highly.
We went to Saint Jacques for the first time yesterday, from a distance away. Though it was a 1.5 hour drive in rush-hour traffic, we felt it was well worth the trip.
First, it was superb French cuisine, from the lobster and pumpkin bisque, all the way to the best chocolate mousse my wife has ever had. The Amouse Bouche before dinner is a nice touch, as is the sorbet between courses. Everything we ordered was as described in the menu, and cooked to perfection.
However, what really sealed the deal was the service. We went to our table, and the waiter immediately switched out the white napkins for dark ones, so we would not get lint on our dark clothes. I went to the restroom, and came back to find my napkin neatly folded at my place. When my wife put on a sweater, the waiter came by and asked if he could raise the temperature of the whole restaurant, even though there were many other patrons there. .. Who does this any more? For the first time in a long, long time, we left feeling like the staff was truly happy we came. Thanks to you all.
Chef/GM Serge Falcoz-Vigne and his extraordinary team continue to wow me. From the exemplary service to the superb cuisine, Saint Jacques makes quite an impression on anyone lucky enough to dine within its walls. It is so unfortunate in our busy lives that we forget to take time and enjoy this most sacred ritual of eating without rush or constant interruptions from work/phone/etc. But once you enter this restaurant, you are transported to a place that will feed your taste buds and your soul, so you had best leave all of those distractions aside.
1. I do not often dine at restaurants because I find restaurant food to be just average and full of empty calories. I can make average at home, and I don't have to pay for someone to cook and serve it to me.
2. Menus can make food sound delicious so I read them with a grain of salt. The proof is what is placed before the diner.
This occasion was my birthday so I was persuaded to make a restaurant choice. I would have to say that in the 22-plus years that I have lived here I have never dined at what I would really say was an excellent restaurant. My guests from the Boston area and I agreed we had never eaten as fine a meal in as relaxed an atmosphere. If you just look at cost, Saint Jacques is expensive. If you look at the meal as an evening out with friends and family, it is a worthy experience.
This is quite frankly one of the best French restaurants ever....the service is top notch. This is a dining experience more than a restaurant. Personal and caring service.
But then there is the food.....which is always perfect. Recommend the escargot and the scallops. Desserts are to die for as well. This is the place in Raleigh

When the chef comes out to your table multiple times to check on your food and pleasure, then you have a very unique dining experience. Every person is attentive to your needs and wants.
The food is so divine and seasonal that your palate is overwhelmed.
Can't rave highly enough every visit we make.
Small portions for price. Storefront strip mall with car headlights shining directly into dining room. Mussels were miniscule. Spouse not happy with one duck leg and small thigh, menu did not specify what type of portion. Should have asked. Did not live up to anticipated results indicated by online reviews.
There is no restaurant in many, many years that has captured and delighted a dining experience as has Saint Jacques. The food was not only heavenly, well prepared and presented, but outstandingly unique. The wait staff was extraordinarily attentive while not being intrusive. The atmosphere was quiet and you could actually hear your dinner companions speak. As an aside, I did not spot anyone wielding a cell phone!
The chef visited our table and explained some of the dishes we were eating in a wonderfully lilting authentic French accent. The food was reflected in his enthusiasm and loving care.
Dining experiences of this caliber are so rare. We will be visiting many times in the future.
What a wonderful experience!
We were celebrating my mom's 80th birthday. The food was outstanding, beef filets with potatoes, and salmon with polenta(?) or potatoes (not my meal). We both ordered filets medium-rare; one was perfectly medium-rare, the other was more on the rare-side. Both were delicious. The salmon was crunchy on the outside, creamy/flaky on the inside- heavenly! We loved the apple pastry dessert with ice cream, and the chocolate mousse.
All of the staff persons are extraordinarily polite and pleasant, but the chef and one or two of the wait staff seem to particularly enjoy interacting with diners. Their enthusiasm is quite charming. This is not our first special occasion here, and won't be our last.
