Food and service outstanding. Spanish style octopus one of if the best dishes ever. Also not your typical offering.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our Anniversary Tuesday night.
The food was amazing; the waitress was kind and attentive; and the manager made us feel welcome as well.
Excellent dining experience every time. This dinner we had the octopus and beef cheeks and they were delicious. They also gave us a special desert for my birthday. Service was friendly and professional. I look forward to our next visit.
We wanted a nice experience for New Years Eve and Saint Jacques was an excellent choice. They had a three course meal I had the scallops appetizer, the steak au poivre, and the creme broulee while my wife had the winter salad, the beef Bourguignon, and the sorbet. We were both very pleased with our excellent food choices.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Very enjoyable restaurant that I am planning to visit often.
While we expected the meal to be good, they exceeded our expectations. The food was great and so was the service. In these trying times it was good to see that the staff not only wore masks correctly they also wore gloves and were very concerned with our safety.
We have eaten at this restaurant for many years(22yrs) and it has always been all around excellent. This was a fixed menu for New Years eve and was prepaid with a 20% gratuity included. The food was excellent as usual but, the service was not up to Saint Jacques standard, at all. My husband had to ask for bread twice. I had to flag the waiter down several times to ask for wine. He never came back to our table at dessert service to ask if we wanted coffee. I finally had to flag him down and ask. We then had our bill for drinks, at the end, to find that portion, as well, had a 20% gratuity added in. This was not up to a 20% gratuity standard. We spent over $290 for the two of us. At that level the service should be held to their normal standard. I am not sure if we would do this again next year.
New Years Eve meal was a limited menu, but was exceptional, none the less. Best restaurant in Raleigh.
Absolutely fabulous, as usual! Every meal at St. Jacques is delicious work of art and lovely experience!
Absolutely Wonderful!! The service was impeccable and the food was so delicious. We had heard so many wonderful things about St. Jacques from friends and neighbors that we made a reservation (highly recommend) and went for our first time this past Saturday. Anthony helped us with our wine and food selection (he was spot on)! The trout feature was something from out of this world and so good! I had the salmon and the romesco sauce was extraordinary! Eyed a few of the dessert go past our table but we decided “next time” we are there, we’ll order dessert.
Drinks were ample and the duck breast was done just as we ordered.
Desert was enough for both off us.
Bit pricey, not some place you drop in for a quick snack! But for a special event, can't be beat!
Fantastic. Everything about the place
Absolutely incredible, quality is enduring (last visited several years ago). An open mind and willingness to take a culinary journey results in a truly one of a kind experience. Thanks for marking our anniversary with an exceedingly special evening.
Excellent Service and atmosphere. We went out for an Anniversary dinner and were treated like royalty!
Fabulous food and service. Anthony our server was exceptional. We also had the honor to meet Chef Aaron. Wonderful experience. Will return.
What a truly lovely experience. I have been wanting to dine here for awhile, and finally got the chance, and it was truly wonderful. The food was amazing, the service impeccable. Will definitely return, and soon!
40th Birthday dinner
Such a nice quiet French restaurant for celebrations
Best French restaurant in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area in my opinion. I lived in France for a year and am pretty picky.
We enjoyed celebrating our one year anniversary with a superb meal. Hope to be back soon!
Perfect food every time, I am never disappointed by them. Favorite restaurant ever!
We celebrated a birthday here and the chef kindly gave us a complimentary plate. Love my experience here. Will come back again!
We always enjoy our experience at St. Jacques! The service is impeccable and the food is always exceptional.
Outstanding, fine-dining experience. The service, ambiance, and food was simply amazing.
Biggest secret in Raleigh! Phenomenal food, next-level service!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening cooking class! The chef is extremely entertaining and informative in cooking methods as well as preparation. The menu was incredible and the duck was cooked to perfection. The arrangement was lovely under COVID regulations but we cannot wait for more normal times to be able to mingle with everyone.
Oh, and the pastry chef was terrific!! We look so forward to attending several more.
Thank you, The O’Boyle’s
This was our second adventure to Saint Jacques. This time was to celebrate my wife's birthday. As was our initial visit, everything was outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the inventive menu.
It was so good, the server was nice and poured our drinks. The food was so good and great. It’s #1 restaurant in Raleigh for me!
We have celebrated our anniversary 2 years in a row here and had a great experience and fun time both visits. The staff is very friendly. The food is delicious. It was a little loud this time around but you can’t really control people chatting all at the same time unless the tables were really far apart which would be a loss for business and that would just be silly. The Sparkling French Martini was the best cocktail I’ve ever had and the wine list is full of great choices. I highly recommend having dinner. If you haven’t been here. GO!
Overall, we had an excellent time. Our server was great, not outstanding because we felt a little big neglected at times. For example, we wanted more butter for the bread, but had to wait for some time before we could attract the attention of our waitress even though the place was small and not too busy. And my wife mentioned that she sat there a long time before they cleared her plate. But again, these were two minor things and overall we really liked our server.
The food was excellent. The soup of the day a salmon/corn chowder was outstanding, bread was good, creme brûlée for desert was superb. My wife loved her Filet Mignon. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 for the food was that I didn't absolutely love my duck. The sauce and vegetables it came with were great, but the duck itself was just "okay".
The other thing is this really is a restaurant where you need to spend money. I was expecting to spend about $120 with the tip for the two of us (neither of us drink alcohol) and my bill with the tip came to about $185. This seemed very excessive to me and while I thought the place was great, the food excellent, and a very good dine in experience; I believe there are places where I can get the same thing for less money (i.e. Second Empire, Death and Taxes, Crawford and Son, etc.).
Everything about the experience makes me want to go back, but based on how much the food cost, we will probably try other restaurants in the future.
If money is no object for you, I definitely recommend this location.
Good dining experience overall. Food and service were excellent. Regretfully, one table was extremely (I meant "extremely"!) loud. For that reason, I couldn't give ambience a good rating. I realized that the restaurant didn't have control there. However, this restaurant used to be among the very few fine dining spots in Raleigh. I think the now "casual" dress code might have something to do with it. Yes, I will come back hoping that the unpleasant encounter was simply a rare bad luck.
Attended a wine dinner with excellent and creative food, paired with boutique wines!
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Our server Alex was the best too. My wife and I will definitely be back!
The food and service was wonderful as usual. This has been our favorite restaurant, in Raleigh, for the past 22 years. It never disappoints!
The food was extraordinary and the staff made our wedding anniversary delightfully memorable.
I have been going to Saint Jacques for years and it's my favorite restaurant around. The quality of food and the experience are unbeatable. Tonight, that experience was further elevated by Anthony. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing per usual, but the service was superb. Anthony was the perfect compliment to a pristine dinner. I look forward to many more memories at Saint Jacques!
The food is very good, but has a limited menu. The wine list is uneventful.
Perfect meal to celebrate a birthday!
Waiter was a complete idiot. Kept telling us how he was a bartender not a waiter. Guy would not stop talking, right in our faces, always reaching over us to point to the menu. Sounded like he had a cold. Very hard to get him away so we could enjoy our meal.
This restaurant is $100+ per person high end restaurant. They hired a $10 bartender. Makes no sense to me. Won't be back here for a long time.
