Visited to celebrate my wife's birthday. They were very friendly and formal, and also decorated our desserts with a surprise birthday wish message. Our visit was at lunch, and it was very worth it considering the quality of food and its price.
Always a wonderful dining experience. My wife and I came for her birthday dinner. Our table was ready immediately. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was wonderfully prepared and delicious. We started with a cheese plate, with four varied cheese and accompanying fruit and nuts -- a very nice starter. My wife had the tile fish and enjoyed it immensely. I had the braised shortribs, which were delicious. Dessert was profiteroles and bourbon peach ice cream. It was a memorable dinner out and a perfect way to celebrate a birthday.
Most delightful night. Food was delicious. (duck, lamb chops, seafood special) Great bottle of wine. (Cote du Rhone) Service was impeccable. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Wine dinner was great
Great experience, wonderful meal, excellent wine pairing.
The food was an absolute delight - tasty and filling and beautifully rendered. The service was impeccable - Anthony did a wonderful job!
Great experience at St Jacques! Food was amazing, excellent wine choices. Chef had some great special taste treats too.
The food and service were excellent. We received a great explanation of the typical French menu and the meaning of les entrees and les plats. A wonderfully quiet and intimate restaurant.
Though it appears unassuming, this restaurant is amazing. Each visit is an experience, not just dinner. The chef visited our table, our servers have been wonderful, and the food is perfect. On top of everything, they are phenomenal about managing food allergies. This place is now one of my favorite restaurants.
Absolutely delicious. Unpretentious excellent French food. Absolutely reminiscent of Provence and the French Riviera. Started with the Pate which was flavorful with a nice mustard sauce. Rack of lamb was melt in your mouth perfection.
The restaurant was a little too warm for business casual - recommended attire light weight sport shirt and khakis or poplins. Really! way to much body heat, the a/c just couldn't keep up. Now, for the food: from the fog legs & escargot to the entrees everything was very good. The Chef came out to our table with something interesting to eat. The little things served to us (that were not ordered) provided an element of surprise and prepped our taste buds for what came next. Overall, I'd say we had a very good first experience there. Last, but not least, the young woman serving us was as beautiful as she was competent. Definitely recommended.
I've dined in fine restaurants all over the world - this is one of them. Excellent menu, food and service. A lovely evening with many elegant touches.
I didn't give five stars to service because the waiter chatted up my husband too much, but he was very good otherwise. I ordered the veal sweetbreads, which i have had many times in many restaurants, but this preparation was my least favorite. The sweet breads were in a vegetable ragout heavily sauced with a demi-glace that was too strong for their delicate nature to shine. They were in small pieces, as in a stir fry. We ordered profiteroles for dessert. Ice cream was rock hard. Puff pastry was dry. Rack of lamb however was cooked perfectly though, and enjoyed by other two guest at the table.
I hadn't been to Saint Jacques in a while as we typically have been dining at the more contemporary restaurants in downtown Raleigh or Durham. That said, it was refreshing to have a true fine dining experience with some outstanding food. The fish and creme brulee were both the best I have had globally. The pallet cleansers between each course were both delicious and added to the mean. The waits staff was outstanding. With each service they took care to serve my Mother, my wife and then my father first. Across the board they delivered a first class dining and service experience.
We have been to St. Jacques multiple times over the past year. We find it to be one of the best restaurants in the area. The food, service and ambiance are wonderful. It is worth the expense.
We were celebrating our 40th anniversary so we hoped for a special time and weren’t disappointed. Food was excellent!! Ken’s service was spot on - there when we needed something, but not obtrusive, knowledgeable, and with genuine (not forced) pleasantness and humor.
One of the best dinner we ever had, not just in this country but anywhere around the world.
The chef, Serge is simply « fantastique », is passion is reflected in all he does and in all the details.
For a memorable experience this is the best and a place to go back on a regular basis.
Merci et à très bientôt
Thank you for offering a special Mother’s Day event. Very attentive service, and exclusive experience.
Loved everything about This very special hidden gem!!
Classical French cuisine cooked to perfection. I will definitely return.
Dinner was amazing! The chef came to the table and was very personable and fun to talk to!
Excellent food & service.. A very special evening... They never disappoint... thanks so much!
Saint Jaques was more than incredible food, it was an amazing experience. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you've been transported to France. The wait staff was nice, fun and happy, and getting to meet the chef as he came to each table was icing on the cake.
Not what we expected. On a scale of 1-10, it was at best a 6.
Quaint place with great food. Wine list is small but well chosen. Service was excellent and owner made a stop by every table. Very nice touch!
Having eaten at Saint Jacques before, we wanted to do something special for our daughter in law's birthday. Our son was out of town on a golf outing (that rascal), so we invited Emily & our granddaughter, Sadie. Everyone was so sweet & accommodating to Sadie who is almost 8. She had a wonderful time trying out French food. Sadie is going to Paris with her Mom, Emily, her other grandmother, Lynn, and myself on May 12, so Saturday's dinner was very special practice! The food was superb, as usual. Our server, William, was very helpful & courteous. A most wonderful evening for all of us!
St Jacques is the best restaurant in N C! I think Serge is the Paul Bocuse or Alain,Ducasse of the US. Food .service is outstanding and is an authentic French experience!
Excellent experience. Food was fantastic. Will go again.
All courses were delicious. The chef was very engaging and clearly made every effort to ensure we had a 1st class experience in all aspects of our dining.
Exceptional service. Food was magnificent!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. The food was absolutely fantastic!
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Raleigh! Service was exceptional, food was outstanding and wine selection excellent. Serge, the owner and chef came out throughout the evening and spoke to us on what we liked, even servubg us a pre-appetizer treat. The wait staff was attentive yet not bothersome and food was served perfectly timed to allow previous course to be enjoyed and not rushed. It was a wonderful evening and definitely a place to go for a nice date or special occasion.
Service was excellent food really good excellent value
First time here. Exceptional service and food. Cant wait to go back!!!
outstanding meal, authentic french cuisine, friendly excellent wine
The beef bourginone (don't know if I spelled that correctly) was exquisite. I always love the escargot. This was our second time there and we absolutely loved the experience each time. We will be back.
We had an AMAZING experience! I had the pleasure of working with Chef Serge on a gala event 3 years ago, so I knew to expect a terrific feast. Our dining experience far surpassed my expectations! The only time that I have ever had food as exquisite is when I have been in Europe. The service is also immeasurably fabulous. We will be back for certain.
The bride and I dined on a Tuesday evening recently for our anniversary with 6:30 pm reservations. We were greeted, seated immediately at a nice table, and things got better from there. The restaurant never became crowed or noisy .
The service and the meal was delightful in all aspects, but the special part was that we could hear each other easily.
Enjoyed our anniversary celebration at Saint Jacques. Good food meant for dining with good service provided by Master Jared.
Dining to impress my date for her birthday. Perfect.
