We loved St. Jacques when M. Lil owned and ran it. Ignoring that missing personal connection, I would say this meal was just as amazing. Rack of lamb was just right and good flavors. Salmon ravioli for the wife was exquisite. Country pate is a bit stronger than before, but still very nice. They added rabbit. The wine list has undergone a transtion - larger and more varied, and no longer all French, although that is still the most prevelant. We will return soom.
The food is constantly exceptional, from appetizers to desserts.
The service is always welcoming and knowledgeable.
I have been to Saint Jaques many times over the last 3 years. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing. Everytime I go it is an incredible dining experience.
Excellent service, really good food. Medium rare lamb was a little too rare, but rest of the dinner was fine.
Best authenitic French Cuisine in Raleigh. Outrageously good French onion soup. Friendly, attentive and professional service. Outstanding chef, Serge. Creative, beautifully presented dishes.
The food was only outdone by the service. Our waiter was superb
Just great all around. Food cooked perfectly and service was outstanding.
Finest chef in the Triangle, without a doubt. Always amazingly creative dishes with authentic French flair. Have never had a sub-par dish at this restaurant.
We ate there last November/December time frame and this restaurant was great grime the service to the food. This time the food was just average. It all appeared to be bland. For a French restaurant, one would expect something really special. For the kind of money we spent. It was average and quite honestly tasteless.
Felt I was back in France! Food and service was outstanding. Expensive but worth every penny, I will be back!
Went for our anniversary and had a wonderful meal and experience. The food was outstanding and the service was great. The timing of the courses was perfect.
My first visit. Surprisingly, EVERYTHING I tried was amazing. Yes...that is the appropriate superlative - amazing. Presentation of food, portion size, complex flavors and proper temperature were all noted. Likewise, the dessert ess phenomenal. Instantly a favorite of mine and the wait staff was attentive, courteous, informative and pleasant to interact with. Especially the young lady from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I’ve been to St Jacques many times and always loved it. My last visit was very disappointing. Food was okay- not memorable. We were seated in the overflow room even though I made reservations weeks ago and the main dining room was pretty empty when we got there and left. For close to $300 I expect exceptional. I’m taking it off my list.
Excellent French food in the triangle.
Located in a strip mall.
Food was excellent.
Excellent dining experience from beginning to end. Service and food were outstanding. Three tank of lamb was prepared perfect and the salmon was very good. The profiteroles were there perfect ending to s lovely dinner.
Have lived within 3 miles of this restaurant for over 30 years but have never dined here. Went with my daughter and we had a great experience. Great food, quiet enough to talk, and wonderful service. Will definitely be returning.
I feel like I was put in coach rather than first class which was unexpected for this restaurant. I have to say that the service was the most disappointing in addition to having some food served colder than it should have been. So overall a disappointing visit as compared to prior times. The main room was not full and was seated in the overflow room with an inexperienced server.... sigh.
My husband & I dined at St. Jacques on Mother's Day this May. It was delightful & we wanted to share the St. Jacques experience with our son & his wife. So, the four of us had a special "date night" last Saturday. Both our son & his wife were as impressed as we had been during our visit in May. I was so glad that my impression was accurate & that both of "the kids" were raving about St. Jacques.
Reliably fabulous every time. It's also fun to go there on Bastille Day!
My husband and I really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We don't drink alcohol and are pescatarian, so we were worried about these things beforehand. The chef even brought out a special veggie amuse bouche and we were told about alcohol reductions up front. Most classy restaurants I've been to have great service, but these folks definitely just topped my list for anazing service to vegetarian and pescetarian tee-totallers.
We haven’t been to St Jacques for a while. Now that we live closer, we decided to give it a try. It was as awesome as always. Great French tastes and presentation. We can’t wait to go back.
Saint Jacques is my favorite French bistro in the triangle. The service is top notch. The owner/chef personally greets every guests. The food is simply tremendous. Nothing here is bad. The escargot is exceptional. This is without a doubt the premier French bistro in Raleigh
A lovely oasis of fine dining in Raleigh, North Carolina. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. I had the rack of lamb and it was delicious. There is plenty of parking which is always a nice thing to find at city restaurants. The chef came to table to see that everything was to our satisfaction and served a wonderful amuse-bouche. We had a lovely time.
We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at Saint Jacques. This was our first time at the restaurant, and the food and service were wonderful. The staff made the evening very memorable, enjoyable, and special.
Wonderful anniversary dinner. Staff was very attentive, food was amazing, and the overall experience is one not to be missed.
Really lovely venue. Traditional French food well prepared. They were so welcoming and the service was extremely professional. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening.
Our food has been great in the past, but was not good this visit. All proteins (4 of us) were over cooked. Sides were okay, but nothing special. Ice cream and sorbet for dessert was flavorless. Really disappointing visit since we took family from out of town as a treat.
There are several places around town that we like, but this is absolutely the best food we have found. It is a little pricey, but fantastic food.
We were very pleased at the service and food .
It was our 28th anniversary.
We told the waiter as much.
Whenour desert arrived the chef had written and chocolate and script around the edge of the plate happy 28th anniversary!
We r sorry we couldnt upload a foto of it
My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary and it was indeed a night to remember. From the minute we walked through the door until the time we left we were treated as special guests, not customers. I had indicated a specific wine I wanted waiting for us and...there it was, right beside our table! All of the wait staff were fantastic and anticipated our next move before we made it. Above all else, the food was flat-out fantastic. My wife looked at me after finishing her last sip of coffee before we left and said, "I think this might be the best meal I have ever had in my life!!" How's THAT for a review!!
I love fine dining, and this restaurant is amazing. The executive chef interacts with the guests, and the servers are very attentive to your needs. The food is presented well , it is authentic French cuisine and the food is delicious. I most definitely recommend this gem for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration for a friend!
The food, the wine, and the service were outstanding, as always. We and our friends have dined there many times over the years, and our experience has been consistently superb. Saint Jacques is our favorite place to spend a lovely evening!
Wonderful authentic French quisine best I experienced in the triangle area
First rate. Great staff, friendly and professional. Awesome food. Wonderful ambiance.
We were so pleased that the chef was able to deftly and patiently accomodate our dietary requests. Not only did he provide a special amuse bouche just for our table (out of this world!), but the restaurant gratiously allowed us to bring or own “keto” rolls to enjoy the garlic herb butter from their delicious escargot. We so appreciate being able to have a special occasion out, and our health as well. St. Jacques is always a pleasure, but this time even more so. We can’t say thank you enough!
Wonderful food fantastic waitress Merisol. She made the entire evening...pleasant, knowledgable and fun! We will definately go back!
Small and intimate restaurant and surprisingly good for being in a strip mall.
Took my fiancé here for our anniversary. From the decor to the menu, attention to detail stood out. The chef and the staff were very accommodating and gracious. Looking forward to many more moments there.
Took my dad here for his birthday dinner. Food was great. Service was great and well worth the 35min drive from Durham.
