Saint Jacques restaurant at the historical Burke Manor Inn, located in the picturesque railway town of Gibsonville serves dinner Thursday through Saturday. Enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah then convene to the intimate dining room where a classic fine dining French meal will be offered. The owners of the Inn, Lil & Lori, previously owned Saint Jacques French Cuisine in Raleigh, which had been voted one of the top 100 restaurants in the US by OpenTable diners under their ownership from 2009-2014. They have brought those same standards they had applied in Raleigh for 10 years to the Inn.

This is a truly wonderful establishment which takes the time and care to ensure all guests feel special and have an outstanding experience! The food is the best around, the staff is so thoughtful and makes each person feel they are the only person there! Each and every time my family and I come to Saint Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn we leave full of joy and delicious food as well! Everything about this place is wonderful and anyone should treat themselves enough to go and enjoy! Gibsonville is truly blessed to have this in their town and the staff are beyond superb!
Everyone was friendly and professional. The food was well prepared and tasty. My husband is allergic to lobster but wanted the mac and cheese that was made with lobster that was accompanying the lamb. The chef was kind enough to make him the macaroni with clams (my husband's request) and even made a different cheese sauce to go with the clams! The menu items are pricey but wonderful for special occasions. A definite "go-to".
This was our first visit to your restaurant. We saw the restaurant review in our local Greensboro paper in the Fall 2017. We said that someday we might go there for a special occasion. We had recently moved to the Greensboro area from New York ( 1 hour from NYC). I had your salmon dish and my husband had your lamb puff pastry special. From the Rosemary fresh breads to the chocolate puff ball dessert, we loved our culinary experience. Plus your waitress Megan made our evening extra special. We very much enjoyed talking to her. Come to find out she was from Vermont and we both went to college near her hometown in Vt. We will return very soon. Maybe March 11 for your Irish dinner? And we will request Megan to be our waitress.

Visiting our daughter for Family Weekend at nearby Elon University, we were delighted with the chance to indulge her and a friend with the elegance and relaxed ambiance of this unique find in Gibsonville. Highlights: the gracious welcome of our young server, putting all of us at ease; the flawless service that made it all look simple; the fresh and creative food that celebrated both the season and the location; and the pleasure of the unexpected in finding a gem like this.
A fabulous tomato tarte with subtle herbs wrapped in puff pastry, savory salad alongside succulent salmon, cloud like homemade gnocchi with two sauces to choose from, pear and Gorgonzola fighting a palate dance — the menu was a delight to explore, and the wine list easily complimented the options.
I love the location in an old home. The food is mostly very traditional French; but, there are creative touches - and every dish I had was very well-prepared and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the wide selection of wines, which range in price from affordable to expensive.
Celebrated a birthday, had the scallop appetizer, my spouse had the chicken with spicy sausage, I had the salmon, the meal was quite rich and definitely French, I asked to take home more than 1/2 the salmon, and the waiter returned quickly due to the chef was worried I did not like the dish, I later realized this was equivalent to a insult, but at age 62 and needing to cut back when I could, I just saw myself eating the other portion for lunch the next day, which I did! No insult intended! The restaurant is beautiful, the staff very attentive, yes it's an expensive meal but worth it! Plus, we shared the dark, rich chocolate dessert, faboulous!
Our third visit to the Burke Manor Inn was a little disappointing. The food was not up to our expectations. The chicken roulade had a strange taste and one piece of fish in the seafood vol a vent tasted fishy. However, this is a wonderful restaurant for a quiet dinner, and the service was superb. If you like bittersweet chocolate desserts, you will be very pleased.
Went for Mother's Day; had a lovely brunch on a charming old style rambling porch. Food and service both excellent. I felt badly for our server; the pollen was giving her fits, but her co-workers backed her up nicely. Only one not-so-positive-after dessert coffee was lukewarm; strange ending to otherwise picture perfect dining experience. Will definitely go again.
The overall experience was beyond expectations. It's set in what appears to have been the parlor and dining rooms of a large and stately old home in Gibsonville. Very comfortable. Like being a guest in someone's home. The food is authentically French and nearly impeccable quality. If you ever dined at the top-rated St. Jacques in Raleigh, while this same chef, along with his wife, owed and operated it, you'll know just how good it is. The service and hospitality substantively enhanced the experience. As a suggestion, if you like French Onion soup, you'll be hard pressed to find one that's better prepared.
We had a lovely meal at St. Jacques at the Burke Manor this past weekend. The food was excellent from the gnocchi with chorizo appetizer, the salmon en croute and filet mignon main dishes, and the chocolate and cherry desserts. All were quite good. The highlight may have been the exceptionally well curated French wine menu - really interesting and reasonable offerings that paired very well with the food. The owners and staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly without interfering with the flow of the meal. They really went out of their way to make sure we were happy and it was much appreciated. I also appreciated the attention to detail - napkins to match our outfits so as to avoid lint, no clearing of empty plates until both parties were finished, etc. Since Bon Soiree and Four Square closed in Chapel Hill and Durham there are fewer and fewer options for a formal but not stuffy meal out, and I very much appreciate a focus on etiquette and the overall experience. The setting is very elegant as well in a 100+ year old house that is subtly yet beautifully decorated. We are looking forward to coming back to try Easter brunch on the porch.
We enjoyed a 4-top with good friends and found our first visit to Saint Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn a delight! Will return and introduce to other friends. The soupe a L'mignon Gratin joined other memorable offerings I have enjoyed in Aix Les Bains and the French Laundry. Another starter was a signature dish that everyone wished they would have gotten, their Burke Manor Tomato Pie. Their Old World Warm Goat Cheese Salad was very good and visually pleasing. Two of our guests enjoyed the Salmon en Croûte. I enjoyed an offering that was over the top with flavor . . . their Chicken and Spicy Sausage Roulade. Finished with fresh-brewed coffee and excellent Crème Brûlée and delightful Cherry Clafoutis that was a first for my wife. I must admit, they offered a wonderful surprise as I learned they had a couple of homemake ice cream and it was the BEST Rum Raisin I have ever enjoyed in 67-years!
Saint Jacques is an easy 30-minute drive from Greensboro. For the Greensboro natives, their history has a linking to the Cone Family! The home that is now The Burke Manor Inn, a historic North Carolina bed and breakfast, has been meticulously restored to its original 1906 grandeur as designed by the Cone family and later enhanced by the Burkes. Originally owned and built on the 303 Burke Street site by Caesar Cone, a textile magnate (Cone Mills), the Gibsonville, NC home was sold to J.W. Burke in 1911.
Saint Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn is a truly gastronomical experience. If this restaurant was in France, I'm sure it would have Michelin stars. It is obvious that food preparation has been elevated to an art form, and the dishes are masterpieces. The service was impeccable. The evening was a veritable dining experience like no other that we have had in North Carolina.
We enjoyed the food which was prepared excellently. The staff and service was exceptional. The St. Jacques is a beautiful historic house.
The heat was broken in the dinning room. The outside temperature was 25 degrees and inside was very cold and uncomfortable. The staff was apologetic and provided a space heater at our table.
Prior to the dinner, the St. Jacques had called to confirm the reservation time. I feel the St. Jacques should have informed me at that time the heat was not adequate. If I'd know in advance the heat was broken, I would have rescheduled my reservation.
