Fabulous dining experience. The service is impeccable. The assortment of fresh caught seafood is awesome. Will dine there again for special occasions.$$$
We weren’t sure what to expect
Excellent food excellent service very nice Decour
This was a special treat! Naples sorely needed this level of excellence! The owners are involved, the servers are all highly trained and team oriented. They don't. Miss anything! The fresh fish selection is out of the world. Please go!!
Tables very close together became so noisy could not hear my husband across the table
first-class menu & service with a beautiful European flair
I had my Birthday celebration there and it was wonderful! Food was fabulous and staff and owner were very friendly and made my experience very special! I will go back again!! They are one of Naples best restaurants in my book!
On Saturday we met our friends for dinner and had a marvelous dining experience. Outstanding food and service. We shared a few appetizers all were delicious especially the grilled octopus, whole fish crudo, grilled Tiger prawns, live grilled scallop to die for. We also shared 2nd course pasta - linguine ( must have ) and papardele with grilled Spanish live octopus. 4th whole turbot 3lb with artichokes( wooow sooo good ). 5th Aussi wagu - grilled on cherry wood my favorite.. Must have. Every dish was delicious, we also had great cocktails. Must have souffle in Greek cooper pot - Rock star. Our waiter, Marco ( Greek ) was fantastic. Restaurant has a nice lively ambiance. I highly recommend Sails, they have the freshest seafood and the beef is like butter.
I finally dined at Sails for the first time last night and what an amazing experience it was!
Each & everyone of the staff is so welcoming and really go above and beyond all expectations.
The food was incredibly tasty and perfectly priced for the outstanding quality.
And the decor and the ambiance really make it a beautiful restaurant.
If your look for fine dining, European flavors and true hospitality, then Sails is a must!
I can’t wait for my next visit
Superb restaurant, excellent wine service, beautiful setting, skilled staff
I consider myself a foodie and food was quite good, wild mushroom and artichoke side dish was excellent. But I didn't like feeling pressured to order up...other or more expensive dishes. If I ordered a glass of wine, they pushed a carafe. If I didn't order a salad, they suggested a salad. On the other hand, they then comp'd a salad for us to split just to try. That was nice. But I still felt pressured.
Waiters were gracious. But dining was very loud between the music and the bar crowd, there was little quiet for a relaxing dinner. They were gracious enough to move our table but probably will not go back. Very pricey.
Our first time there, but certainly not our last. Started with the Uni and the Octopus appetizers which were both good. One of the best octopus starters in Naples for sure. The fish selection is spectacular and obviously the menu printed on the site doesnt do that justice. John our server took us to the fish display to go through the options. We selected a Scorpina (from New Zealand) to share which was something special---dense fish, but wonderfully simply prepared. So many choices for sure. Probably 6 types of fish that can be grilled (using Japanese hardwood) which just creates a fantastic flavor, but many other choices including live scallops and many shellfish as well. Had artichokes and grilled vegetables to accompany. From our point of view, one of the best 5* dining experiences in Naples. And as such the prices are not cheap, but they are not outrageous either unless you are not used to restaurants of this caliber. Service was absolutely excellent and very anticipatory--again what you should expect from a $* restaurant. We look forward to our next visit!
The hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. They made the place, a former bank, beautiful. Enough with the positive...
I never saw such a blatant upsell. Ordered some wine, a few minutes later, “we are out of that, but we can recommend this (much higher priced bottle).”
Ordered small filet, again, a few minutes later, “we are out of that, but can offer you the (much more expensive) Wagu.”
Ordered the whole Snapper, AGAIN, “we don’t have enough for your table, but we can recommend this other larger (more expensive, priced by the pound) fish. Obviously on its way out and they needed to move it. NO THANKS!
They pride themselves on the fresh? Fish display. When you view the display and when they brought the platter to the table, smelled VERY, strongly fishy, I could smell it across the table. FRESH FISH SHOULD NOT SMELL.
I could go on about other things, let’s just say they need to stop with the attitude of taking advantage of dim witted rubes, AKA PT Barnum (“A fool and his money are soon parted”), and instead focus on building on the beautiful base of a gorgeous setting, otherwise pretty good service in a great location.
Work on The freshness if that’s what you want to be known for, reduce the varieties you offer if that’s what it takes to manage the quality.
People are not as clueless as you think, especially ones that can afford to pay for a meal at the prices you charge. Offer genuine advice without the bottom line so apparent and people will want to come back.
We are rooting for you, but really need to alter your approach.
Wonderful food. Sails is the best Naples has to offer. Lauren our server was superb.
Awesome service...wonderful food..we will be sure to dine there again. Very special! Jim and Donna
our waiter, Juan Carlos, was most attentive as was his assistant
Excellent service and delicious fish. But the tomato salad was not very good. The tomatoes and the plate were chilled to nearly freezing temp, making the tomatoes mushy and tasteless.
The service was above and beyond - like no other! And you can actually
choose your own fish/seafood.
Fabulous restaurant. The best in town and the food and service is superior. We love this restaurant - the staff treats everyone so special and caters to you. We went with a group of 10 friends and sat in the private room and had a terrific dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Sails is an excellent seafood restaurant. I went for the octopus items and my guest had excellent scallops. The presentation of the fresh seafood, and accompanying explanation, was well done.
Sails fully lived up to its glowing reviews in the newspaper. The food was delicious, and the service was at a high, more European standard. Highly recommended.
First time there. Food was good. Service was attentive. However they have a lot of seafood flown in by plan from Greece and the Mediterranean. None of it is on the menu so you have to go stand and listen to someone point and explain the seafood. The. Try to remember what they had. it needs to be a daily paper insert to the menus. Too much work and takes away from the relaxing environment. This is at the top of the price range.
The restaurant is very nice, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed at about 80% capacity. It is nicely decorated and our server was knowlegable and had nice ancillary help. My husband ordered the linguine w clams and was told it could be made as a “main” portion. In actuality, they gave him a little more of the pasta and doubled the price! There weren’t any discernable clams. I enjoyed the halibut, and the beef tartare was delicious (we shared). Also the soufflé was nice.
We may try again in the future, but tgere are other restaurants on 5th Ave South that are always sure-things.
Sails was so much better than we could have imagined and the impeccable service made it all the more. Our new favorite restaurant.
The meal and more importantly the entire experience was nothing less than spectacular. We were so pleasantly greeted at the door and offered our table immediately or a seat at the beautifully appointed bar for a pre-meal cocktail. The restaurant is magnificent. Every element of the decor and design is so elegant and thoughtful. We were escorted to our table where the leather felt like butter, the linens were crisp and bright of super high quality. Although the restaurant was quite filled we were tended to by a professional staff and made to feel as though we were the only patrons there without being overwhelmed. They had obviously been trained extensively, as I observed all guests were treated equally as well. Now the meal WOW What a meal. We had grilled octopus and heirloom tomatoes as appetizers. Followed by a perfectly cooked and presented sea scallop. Most in our party of four had the super fresh Mahi-mahi which was presented on their fresh seafood display centered in the restaurant for observing and selection and one of us had the sea bass. It was so well seasoned and grilled on their wood burning European grill. Equally impressive was the amazing purée of potatoes and sautéed artichoke and chard. We also ordered grilled vegetables for the table. A major part of the glorious experience is that the accompanying items with the main course had as much attention as the main item. They were not there just to fill the plate as experienced in most restaurants. Each and every element was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. All we could say is “OMG this is so good”. We were then served desert. The chocolate soufflé was perfect. The presentation was equally impressive. We also had a semi-fredo with pistachio which was the perfect pallet closer. We were provided with paired wines along the way which were great. Then came the bill. I was expecting a much higher bill. It was more than fair. Taking the quality and service into consideration it was a great deal.
Overall, Sails was a very good experience. The wine list was fairly extensive and not over-priced. The King Prawns as an appetizer were a bit overdone for my taste. My wife's risotto was perfectly done as were 5 of her 6 oyster appetizer - one tasted old and did not sit well. . The Veal Chop was excellent though a bit under-cooked for me. I ordered medium and it was more medium rare, though I enjoyed it nonetheless. The service was predictably good. Alex was attentive and anticipatory throughout the evening.
The atmosphere was elegant indoors, though a little crowded on a Friday night. We chose a less crowded outdoor table and enjoyed a far more relaxed meal.
The Souffle was wonderful but the real surprise was the Creme Freche Semi Freddo; by far the best dessert my wife and I have enjoyed in a long time.
With tip, a couple espressos and a bottle of wine, the tab neared $300 for the two of us which I thought was fair for the experience. I've had better but I've had much worse too. We will be back again soon.
Everything was first class. Service, food, ambience. Felt like personal service, because it was! Best meal and evening we have had all season! A little pricey, but well worth it. We’ll be baaack!
Freshest food in Naples, by far. Professional service knowledgeable staff. Food very well prepared.
Indicated I wanted indoor seating and hostess said no, would be outside, after some maneuvering was seated inside. Was seated in the back near the kitchen where waitstaff yelled orders to the chef. Fish was not as good as most Naples restaurants. Wine pricing about 20% above competitors for same wine. Beautiful decorating. Not going back. Cote D’Azur and Blue Provence better food and value.
It is a lovely little restaurant at 5th and 3rd, very modern and tastefully designed. It has a soothing feel about it, but seated next to the bar can be quite noisy. A very good guitarist played dinner music throughout dinner. Very nice touch.
The food and service were outstanding. We chose a wonderful snapper from the fresh fish display and it was prepared perfectly with minimal seasoning. The lobster gnocchi was superb.
My only complaint is that it is very pricey. But, for the usual Naples crowd, I imagine that is not a problem for most. For us, a special occasion only.
We were celebrating our anniversary! Upon arriving we were led to a small table for 2 near the door but the hostess quickly offered us a larger table. The evening started with outstanding service and continued that way throughout our experience. The food was outstanding! While pricey, I would always trade money for outstanding food and service. We will definitely return. Thank you for a fine evening.
Great service . Great food. Bring your credit card
I love the option to choose you own from a large selection of fresh fish. We chose a beautiful Dorado and it was out-of-this-world. Ended the evening with an amazing chocolate souffle. It was expensive but well worth it. Will definitely re-visit.
It was a wonderful evening. Thank you to Veljko and the entire crew that waited on us. The “bread lady” was super sweet and friendly. The food delicious.
You can see my review on Yelp, although you may not want to read it.
We ate outside. Lovely table, but located next to two busy roads. Traffic noise was annoying.
The service was terrific; you really could not ask for better.
Food quality was great, but the preparation needed more work. I had the Dover sole. It was well cooked but came without a lemon butter sauce. I did not ask for it. If it was available, I should have been told.
Prices are sky high.
Very good atmosphete,friendly personal.No 1 in Naples.This is candidate for Michelin’s stars!!!
Overpriced!!!!Overpriced!!!overpriced!!! Trying to get to 50 letters
