Nice flavor profiles on all dishes ordered: appetizer, entree and dessert. Staff was very attentive and it was an over all positive experience.
Food was OK, not authentic and small portions. High price. Wouldn’t go back
The baos are fantastic! We think this is a great place for lunch or dinner. We will go back soon and often. Conveniently located near the Clinton Green/Pink Line stop. Go! You won't be sorry.
Delicious food and great experience! Many options for vegetarians. Can't wait to go again!
Fantastic meal and quite out of the ordinary. Highly recommend the green papaya salad and brandino. Affordable enough to eat there regularly.
This was our first visit and we felt rewarded. Wonderful dishes. So much flavor! So many good options for even our special diets. We will return! The restaurant has that neighborhood secret vibe. The service was wonderful. Highly recommend
The food was amazing, everything we were looking for was on the menu and then some. The staff was very attentive and had good recommendations when asked.
Delicious first time and won’t be my last. Items that-are a MUST try... Papua Green Salad, the Octopus over black rice ( made with squid ink) and the beef with the oyster sauce!!
Service was excellent and owner chatted with us. Food was authentic and very good.
Not all dishes were equally excellent
The branzino was to die for!
Consistently excellent food and service.
Definitely a hidden gem.
From the time we booked the reservation until we left the restaurant, the service was impeccable. Our dinner brought back flavor memories from our trip to Southeast Asia in February. The papaya salad with shrimp was a great start to our entrees of grilled octopus served over black rice and barbecued eggplant. Good wine selection and Asian beers. One caution: the grilled octopus is highly recommended, but is closer to an appetizer portion than main entree size. One of the co-owners stopped by to chat and give us recommendations about a trip to Vietnam Nam. Also good place for lunch.
The staff was very friendly and quite accommodating for my friend’s dietary restrictions! The portions are generous almost everything in the item is easily split between two. Highly recommend The Thai iced tea—it was very refreshing!
Food and service are great, and this is one of our favorite places. But if it's cold, try to get a table away from the door. Cold wind rushes in whenever customers enter or leave. I give a low rating on ambiance only because of the boom-boom music, which is out of place in this cozy little room, and makes conversation difficult.
A warm and very filling lunch on a cold and snowy April day. The table by the window was chilly but the food warmed us up. Courteous waiter and did not rush us. Wonderful teas.
The management and service team know their stuff. The menu isn't over-complicated, and they are well mannered, attentive without being invasive in our space. Food is excellent, and that's the whole point.
This is a just-outside-the-neighborhood favorite for me. If once every month to six weeks makes me regular, then I'm a regular.
service is always attentive...food is always delicious....love this restaurant!
Staff was so friendly! Being pregnant they accommodated my cravings moreso then my dietary restrictions :) love this place!!!
Always happy with Saigon Sisters! The food is excellent and I’m always leaving happy and full.
We are always treated like family at Saigon Sisters! Everything was great!
Always have enjoyed Saigon Sisters. It is a unique experience in the downtown area, since it strikes a balance between elegant sit down and casual restaurant.
Great restaurant and great food! The beef pho was the best I’ve ever had. Fresh clean food.
Tasty menu and great staff... Wings, bbq eggplant and cocktails were wonderful.
Service and waitstaff are excellent - they explained the dishes, offered up some interesting options, and were there when we needed them. The food however was a 'miss'. We probably should have ordered the pho instead of the noodle and rice main dishes that we did order. The flavors and textures were just 'off' - not spoiled, not bad, not undercooked, not overly spicy - just 'off'. The salad and dessert were very good, however, and we would order them again. I've been there multiple times before this visit and have eaten at their other locations with no problem, so I can assume this experience was an outlier. However, I'm not going back until the next time they change the menu.
The sandwiches on the open faced buns were amazing, and the pho was very well prepared. The greeter even ran out to give us an earring that my girlfriend had accidentally lost without her knowing! Very nice ambiance in a quieter part of town but still near the center of the city!
Saigon Sisters was absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive, the restaurant was clean, and the food was amazing. We got the stir fry noodles with BBQ wagyu beef and the selection of 3 buns. The servings were large for their price. Will definitely go back here soon!
Wow! From the outside, Saigon Sisters looks like an everyday lunch spot -- but the amazing, fresh, creative Vietnamese food, craft cocktails, nice wine list and exceptional service will make it a regular dinner date for us. We want to try everything on their menu! The bar looks fun too. Wonderful food for a fair price. We'll be back. Matt and Vanessa were terrific! Thank you for a great pre-theater dinner!
It was fabulous!! Food was wonderful and the staff was awesome!! Can’t wait to go back!!
I wish the old manu would be there - specially the lobster spring roll
But the tocos addition were very good
Outstanding! Fourth visit and each one is great. Service is excellent.
Fabulous as always
Hands down my favorite neighborhood place. The food is always delicious, and Dan and Chris are incredibly welcoming. I have a wonderful experience every time I go there.
Most authentic Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam (2 visits) or "Little Saigon" in northern Virginia. Flavors are subtle and delicate, but blend exquisitely. Great Asian beer too.
Superb service. Very attentive staff from entry to exit. Excellent spicy beef noodle with egg entree -- absolutely DELECTABLE.
Have already recommended this venue to friends... Quite enjoyable dining experience. This was my first visit and I will absolutely fine there again. (I went based on recommendation from a business colleague)
Hadn’t been to downtown Chicago in over 10 months, so seeing that Saigon Sisters was going to open a new location, we made a trip into the city for dinner. There was a new menu since we last dined and they now serve their tasty popular sandwiches at dinner as well as lunch. Yet they retained the great food from their night menu as well. Had to have the Bahn Mi (classic), if only to take half for the next day. That was followed by a papaya salad and crispy spring rolls, which should have been enough food, but be the gourmands (gluttons with a little education) we are, we kept ordering. Chris is used to serving us excessive amounts, but knows we like to tasting everything. The whole fish and octopus were wonderful, the whole fish being a slightly new preparation (to us) and we loved it (as did another table). The food certainly isn’t suffering because of their expansion. We wish Mary and Dan the best for their new project on Lasalle Street. Our only complaint is that they are too far away from us to dine on a more regular basis. Maybe a Wisconsin location, or even in the UP? Still our “go to” restaurant in downtown Chicago.
Excellent option for Vietnamese and Thai from sister restaurant. Excellent taste profile. Would go again
Food and service was great. The host was rude. There were two four-tops, that could have been divided, available at the time of my reservation, but he made us wait and sit at the bar to avoid an even longer wait.
My friend was served the wrong entre. they took it back and offered to remake it--but it took them maybe 15 mins, so by the time she had her food, mine was nearly gone/cold. then they offered her a bit of extra wine to make up for the error...and after we paid and left, we realized we had been charged for an entire 2nd glass! The food we got was good, but as far as it being a good dining experience...no.
I had a reservation at 7:30, there weren’t any tables available so we sat at the bar and had some drinks. The place was packed! Drinks were delicious the Spicy Margarita hit the spot with some appetizers. We had the spring rolls which were absolutely amazing, they were so fresh!
We were finally seated ordered drinks which took forever. We all ordered something different. One had the spicy noodle that was in special which tasted great. The Pho as always was perfect and tasted authentic. The bowls were hearty with fresh food. All in all it was great the service could of been a bit better but he food is to die for. I’ll be heading back soon!
Shall I feel weird when I found out employees from Saigon Sisters searched me on LinkedIn?
