For dinner, Saigon Sisters offers full-service dining experience with modern culinary flair to the classic Vietnamese street food recipes of owner Mary Nguyen Aregoni. With "downtown" hip, minimalist interior and walls exhibiting original works by local contemporary artists, the unique Asian dining spot goes one step further by offering an impressive beverage selection including wines, artisanal beers, sake and specialty signature cocktails.
Great Vietnamese food. Dan the owner came to our table to answer questions and talk. Great cocktails and food. Waitstaff was superb. Prices were fair. Can’t wait to go back!!
Really good and innovative food in a casual and friendly environment
Food was great, the waiter gave great recommendations when we asked.
This is our go-to restaurant. We live in the neighborhood, and all of Fulton/Randolph are at our call, but Saigon Sisters gets our vote: Best restaurant at any price in the city.

The food was absolutely wonderful. Every thing Pho Poached Dumplings Soup, Fried dumplings, Sriracha Wings, Cá Kho, Bo Luc Lac, and Vegetarian Curry Noodles was delicious and flavorful. I can't wait to go again. The service was excellent as well. I can't wait to go back.
My partner had enjoyed the food on a previous visit and we decided to come back for Restaurant Week. We were disappointed with the food and the service, however it was the food that has deterred future visits. Their Restaurant Week prix fixe menu offers an appetizer, entree and dessert for $36 with an optional coursed wine pairing for $22. We chose to do both and ended up with a $130 bill that was not at all worth it. The fried dumplings with jackfruit were tasty, but there were only 4 of them. I don't know if they adjusted the portions for Restaurant Week or if that's standard, but it was a small app. The veggie spring roll appetizer I'd advise against, it's boring and generic, as is the sweet chili sauce that comes with it. For dinner we had a braised catfish dish along with a prawn curry, both were good, however he catfish was very salty and tasted like a heavy hand of soy sauce. For dessert we chose the fried bao and the bread pudding, both served with a coffee caramel. The fried bao was not on their original Restaurant Week menu, it replaced a rice pudding dish and, in hindsight, I would have preferred the rice pudding and the flan that was also available. The fried bao dish was clearly a way to avoid waste. It was a poorly conceptualized dessert. They were "tossed" in cinnamon sugar which barely coated them and definitely didn't add flavor. The bread pudding was cut into pieces and was also fried.... Bread pudding should not be fried. In addition to the coffee caramel, it came with a side of cinnamon whipped cream that was terrible. There was so much cinnamon in it that you could feel the granules and taste the rawness of the spice. We left over half of the desserts on their plates and our server didn't ask if anything was wrong, which was a bummer. I mean, he was barely present throughout our meal (or the meal of the couple next to us) so we were not shocked by his lack of attention to detail. Perhaps the most frustrating part is had we ordered all of these t
We went to Saigon Sisters to try their restaurant week menu on a whim and we were glad that we went. This a small, intimate restaurant that seats 40 people at the most. Each dish that we had was great and the wine pairings offered were top notch and complimented each dish wonderfully. One of the owners, Dan, selected each wine pairing and for the price we paid, they were bargains. If you are expecting the typical Vietnamese cuisine you get at a restaurant on Argyle street, you will be pleasantly surprised. This is a step above most of the food that we usually have. The lady sitting at the table next to me had a bowl of Pho and it looked tempting. That is one dish that I will have to try on our next visit.
Great place, family that cooks together and shares the experience with the customers!
I don't know who are the people who give this place 4,7 stars?
Went last night exited about food ,Big Disappointment. Please, save your money, go somewhere else. Quality of food was really poor, no flavor with poor presentation as well.
I don't write reviews ,ever, this is my first just to let you know don't go there.
HI Nick we take review seriously so we can improve on anything that our customers suggest for improvements. is there a specific item that you ordered and did not like? We have over 30 menu items and pride on our high reviews and when 1 person out of 10 years in business give us a 1 star, it's concerning to us.
The food and service feel make you feel like home and is what makes this a must-visit place. Don't think about it, just go!
Thank you so much for coming in and we are glad you had a wonderful meal and experience. We will see you soon!
Great experience! The food is always outstanding.
Small space with good food and great service. About $40 pp for dinner and 1 drink each.
Everything we ate was delicious!! Bao buns, spring rolls, fried rice, Curry..... Couldn't stop eating!! The tea was great too. They didn't miss a beat here. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent food and service, and I really appreciate that Saigon Sisters participates in the Chicago Passport program!
Saigon Sisters was a great dining experience. Appetizers, Main courses and desserts are all authentic
and made with fresh ingredients. Service makes you feel at home and so welcomed.
I'd particularly recommend the fish(deboned and served in a great broth/sauce) and the beef dishes.
The homemade desserts, especially the bread pudding(sauce out of this world) was A+.
Overall, highly recommended....we'll be back.
Plenty of reasonable on street parking ,at the lake Street location, used with our Parking app.
It was freezing inside. Business lunch and everyone had to keep their winter coats on. Not the first time. I’ll come back in the spring.
The branzino is delicious. Dont miss it!
We went here on a girls night out and absolutely loved the restaurant- food was great , ambience was lovely and to top it all the owner was such a friendly host- we felt like he had invited us warmly into his home and not his restaurant. We will be going back.
So good. Every time.
Fantastic food and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back before long.
Excellent food (especially specialty menu) with warm friendly service.
Wonderful night with exceptional food! Such an great atmosphere and the food is delicious- make sure you try the bread pudding!!
Lovely food. Great service. Relatively unassuming locale but the food is really good.
The fish was excellent. It’s a very small space, and they’ve maximized it with the tables close together. It’s definitely a good idea to have reservations in the evening to ensure a table. I was impressed that they offered both white & brown rice.
Great food and service.
A hidden gem in the Fulton River District of downtown Chicago. Guests can choose from Vietnamese staples like Banh Mi, or discover dinner specialities like their signature branzino- prepared as whole fish intricately flavored with dill and turmeric. We have been multiple times for dinner and the owner is always present and attentive, working with the staff to ensure each guest has an outstanding experience. The meal winner at our table this visit was the baby octopus served over squid ink jasmine rice. A standing favorite is the Chicken Curry (Ca Ri Ga) soup with a remarkable flavor complexity.
Highly recommend Saigon Sisters and look forward to our next visit!
Great Vietnamese casual eating and not too far from downtown.
Perfection in every way ! Ambience, cuisine, service
Delicious food and fun craft cocktails in a pretty, calming environment! Wish we had gone with a bigger group so we could have shared more dishes.
LOVE this place! Dan, the owner, is so personable. He remembered us after the first visit. The imperial rolls are as fantastic as the “nems” in Paris and Paris has a lot of awesome Vietnamese restaurants!!
Great family restaurant ... food was very good and I loved their options for Vietnamese beers. The staff was extremely nice and friendly.
Excellent meal and dining experience. The food is fresh and of high quality and the service is excellent. Great if you're looking for a lunch spot or something a bit different for date night.
Very tasty, well prepared food
Pleasant dining experience, friendly helpful staff.
This was our second time there and the food was fabulous both times. Vegetarian diners in our group loved the vegetarian spring rolls as an app. I had the fried chicken entree with rice, egg and salad, and it was fabulous!
Food and service are always excellent, but we would rather that they turn off the "music."
We have visited Saigon Sisters a few times over the years, and happy to report it is as good as ever.
Dan was very welcoming and personable. Food was delicious.
Ate the curry noodle soup and a fish special.
The fish special was good, but not $30 for three bites of fish good. I felt like a sucker for allowing the manager to up-sell me on that.
That might have ruined the meal overall, but my wife ordered the curry noodles. The noodle bowl was so large she had to share 1/2 of it with me. And it was GOOD. Good enough to make me forget about the overpriced fish dish.
So my recommendation is this: Don't go with what they suggest for you. Stick to what your instinct tells you to order, on the main menu.
I'll most likely be dining here again next time I'm in Chicago.
Loved the size of this restaurant. It was cozy, warm, well-lit, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had the fish special that was fantastic. I generally love salmon over any white fish, but the sea bass was amazing. I would have liked dinner to be served with some veggies.
