For a unique dining experience, the Sahara Middle Eastern Restaurant is a venue worth visiting. This is authentic Moroccan and Lebanese food the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else in the Denver area. The hummus and couscous taste just like one would find in North Africa and Middle East, while the freshly basked naan complements both perfectly.
Sahara Middle Eastern Restaurant is decked out in traditional carpets and furnishings direct from Lebanon, recreating an authentic dining experience. The range of menu items personally created by chefs at Sahara Middle Eastern Restaurant keep guests coming back for more.
Food was excellent!! The prices for both the food and wine are very reasonable.
overall great service and great number of choices from the menu. There were 7 of us and it was a terrific experience. We will be going back mnay times
Food was good. Short pour on the wine....my perception maybe.
This is our first experience at this restaurant but certainly not our first experience with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food. Having lived in Europe and the Middle East for a number of years, we can easily sort out the good restaurants from the bad. The restaurant is beautifully decorated to capture the essence of the menu. The staff was excellent. The appetizer and main course were served perfectly. The taste was really good. Portion size was good. We both had desert then followed with mint tea. A truly great experience. No doubt we will go back!
We were at the Sahara for Sr. Dining Out with our church. I was the one who selected the Sahara and the food was great, as usual. Everybody in the group spoke highly of their food. The service was great, as usual. I recommend the Sahara for anyone looking for good Middle Eastern food.
Love everything about this place and it has great owners who still participate in the day to day activities at the restaurant.
Highly recommend. Food was very tasty. Appetizer sampler was our favorite. Lebanese Wine was recommended and very tasty.
We have discovered this middle eastern restaurant by chance and after trying it out we would recommend it to anyone who likes different cultures and different food. The food is great, service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere there is very middle eastern. Decor is wonderful, love those tables. Try tajin lamb, you will not regret it.
I found the service and the food AWESOME! My friend and I had the works... app/drinks/main dish/desert. I will most definitely be going back to try other dishes on the menu. The whole menu looked good!
I feel like I'm going home for lunch when I come here. I eat here on a regular basis and Lubna and Mo are great owners who make you feel special while keeping the food at the highest levels of quality and taste--our favorite Mediterranean restaurant anywhere--and we've been to many of them around the country.
Amazing food and excellent service. My fiancée has always been a bit wary of trying Mediterranean/middle eastern food, tried Sahara and absolutely loved it. The fresh pita bread they continually bring out is amazing, everything is fresh and delicious. Well be back again for sure. If it's your first time venturing into this cusinine or its your favorite, this is the place to come
We were seven in number and got a round table in a corner near the window, which was ideal for our group. The special needs of some of our group were met without hesitation and graciously. Thank you!
Took our grandkids and we had a great meal with very attentive service and excellent menu choices expertly prepared. You can't go wrong with Sahara.
This quaint gem tucked in a shopping center is a wonderful find if you enjoy Middle Eastern food. The service was most attentive and the food delicious! After a selection of appetizers, we had the apricot lamb tagine which was a perfect blend of savory sweet. Our meal ended with mint tea and a fantastic baklava! I'm already looking forward to a return visit to try other dishes.
Both my husband and I love middle eastern food and culture, and were very pleased to find this gem. Food was delicious, belly dancer was great, service was quick and professional. Lamb was wonderful, fell off the bone!!!
Food: Excellent mediterranean/middle eastern food - Their lamb shank is always outstanding and will melt in your mouth. All the appetizers are worth trying, especially their pastilla (a Moroccan specialty) combining a range of sweet and not sweet flavors including cinamon, honey, powdered sugar, filo dough and minced meat.
Staff: Very friendly and efficient
Restaurant: Clean, nicely furnished and decorated, located in a non-descript strip mall.
Would I go again? Many times
Would I recommend it? Definitely;
Other: Great place to have a nice (out of the beaten path) dinner with friends, business associates or family.
The food was amazing! We will be going back soon! The belly dancer was
Quality of food and presentation were excellent. Surprise (at least for me) visit by a belly dancer which added to the exotic, unusual, fun atmosphere. Not too crazy or loud, though. The menu is not overwhelmingly large, either, and was a special print for Valentine's Day. Staff dressed up in Valentine's ties also, a humorous touch. Overall it had innovation and tradition.
Besides, you just can't get better hummus. Reason enough.
Great food and service. Go on Saturyday night to get the full experience.
The lamb dishes were just excellent. Even my 6 and 16 year old devoured everything on their plates.
This was worth the drive for us coming from Littleton....
The decor was nice and cozy.... And felt clean .... This is a great place for any occasion.
The music for the belly dancing was too loud and interfered with our conversation. Otherwise the food was great and the service was good too.
The food was very good. Our friend who loves middle eastern food thought it was very good. I would definitely go again. I would not give it an outstanding, but satisfying enough for a taste of the middle east.
My family loves Sahara. We have been coming here for years. Favorite entrees include Sahen Lamb with Pine Nuts, Mustard Chicken and Sahara Vegetarian Combination. Among the appetizers, try the Pastilla (shredded chicken wrapped in phyllo dough and sprinkled with cinnamon), the little spinach turnovers, and the grape leaves. The ambiance is casual and warm. Nice lighting and décor. This is a great spot to relax and linger over a good meal - especially during the week. Weekends are more energetic, especially if you get to see the belly dancing.
The food and service are excellent and consistent. Babe been going there for years and it never fails to be terrific they make you feel like you are part of the family when they great you. The restaurant is welcoming and warm and comfortable with amazing food. We go there frequently.
It was my wife's birthday, and also the day before her final Chemo infusion. It was great restaurant to celebrate this two occasions. We both had lamb dishes, which are on their normal menu. The meats were cooked to almost perfection, and the spice blends I do not think we could duplicate. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any of our friends.
Nice decor and great food.
Thanks for Making this a great birthday party
Party of 10 and they were readyet is bring a cake and I hired a belly dancer.
The owners are so nice and very chill. Good came out perfectly and a appropriate time.
The food is phenomonal. Wil be back again. Service and ambience excellent. A rare find in a strip mall
Above average Moroccan food. Middle east dishes are superior to most middle east restaurants
The food was very authentic, the service was exceptional! I was very impressed with the entire restaurant. We were with a large party with children and they were able to accommodate us with ease. So glad we found it, we will return!!
Sahara is always a consistently a delicious restaurant that we continue to visit and bring new guests to enjoy. We have celebrated a variety of special occasions at Sahara & most recently my family chose to surprise me for Mother's Day! I don't believe they were expecting such a June turn out, as there were only two servers. Thankfully we arrived early, but by the time we left the place was almost completely full! Great atmosphere, staff, but even better, their delicious fare! We love it! Try the garlic chicken but ask for it to be spicy! Also the vegetarian sitter to start is the perfect way to experience Sahara!
We can always count on a great meal from Sahara. The wait staff is friendly and the food is always delicious. Their lamb shank fell off the bone and their falafel was perfectly cooked (not overly fried as to become too crusty). The stuffed grape leaves appetizer was just right for the 4 of us. The food comes out quickly, but you'll still feel very comfortable lingering over a glass of wine well after your meal is finished.
We've been to most of the Middle Eastern restaurants in Denver and this one blows them all out of the water! Such rich flavor and high quality meats!
We had a group of 11 including 5 kids when we dined at Sahara. The staff had the table ready when we arrived and they were very attentive throughout. The Hummus and Baba Ganoush was really good. Everyone's main dish was very good as well. The standout of the evening was the Honey Apricot Lamb Tajine. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the belly dancer (Saturday night) was fun for everyone as well. I would definitely recommend them.
While spending a significant time in the Gulf region, I discovered a real penchant for Middle Eastern food. Since then, I've been looking for a good Middle Eastern restaurant in the South side of Denver, and it looks like I've finally found one! The food was excellent and authentic, and the menu provided a large number of choices for every palate. The belly dancer was an interesting touch, as well.
We purposely schedule dinner for a Saturday night so we could see the belly dancer. She was awesome! She took the time to take pictures with the kids and even gave them a lesson on how to belly dance. The entire group loved their food choices. A great evening had by all.
I eat here frequently and recently took several people from my office to lunch and they all loved it as well.
Always excellent middle eastern cuisine, very flavorful and well presented.
Great service and delicious Midle Eastern cuisine.
The wine selection was extremely limited. All of the selections were dry wines.
The meat was not very tender.
I love this place. The food is fantastic. The owners are wonderful. My husband and I like to go there just for dinner or a special occasion. One fun thing is that there is sometimes a belly dancer.
