Sahara Middle Eastern Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The service was really slow this visit. The food took a very long time to come out and no one came over to say anything about the hold up. When the food did come out everyone’s dinner was cold. They didn’t seem very busy so I have no ideas what happened. The other times I have been have been fine. Food still tasted good even if it took forever and was cold. We had to go so couldn’t be bothered to send it back.
This was our second time dining at this location and experiencing Mediterranean food. Even though I had no idea of what it was that I was eating the flavors and smell of each item leaves you wanting more. Prices are reasonable and Saturday night Belly Dancing is an real treat and enhances the experience. We will be back again.
We had the lamb (Colorado Lamb), and it was melt in your mouth, fall off the bone delicious. The service was good. Ambiance could have been better. We could hear Middle Eastern music playing in one room, but we didn't get to hear it in the room we were placed in.
The only thing that disappointed me about this experience was the ambiance. It was described as being "decked out in traditional carpets and furnishings direct from Lebanon, recreating an authentic dining experience", so I expected it to be similar to other Mediterranean restaurants where I've been seated on pillows and that the ceiling and walls would be covered in beautiful linens, etc., but it was pretty much a traditional restaurant with some nice art on the walls.
So, if you go in knowing that, nothing else will disappoint you. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was really delicious and the service was very good. It's a long drive for us, but I would definitely go back!
The Sahara was great! Took the brother-in-law to his first ever middle-eastern meal. He's willing to try things, but was very unsure of this cuisine. They had him at the falafel! It was amazing; so crisp and light on the outside and perfect inside. Best I've ever had (and we have eaten at many Indian restaurants). When the meal was over, he thought he wanted to move to Denver (from central Washington state) just so he could eat here again. We will come back again and again (we are from Colorado Springs) ; this is an amazing find! I had the spicy chicken -- too much to eat in one sitting but the leftovers for lunch had my coworkers drooling!
This is our first experience at this restaurant but certainly not our first experience with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food. Having lived in Europe and the Middle East for a number of years, we can easily sort out the good restaurants from the bad. The restaurant is beautifully decorated to capture the essence of the menu. The staff was excellent. The appetizer and main course were served perfectly. The taste was really good. Portion size was good. We both had desert then followed with mint tea. A truly great experience. No doubt we will go back!
We were at the Sahara for Sr. Dining Out with our church. I was the one who selected the Sahara and the food was great, as usual. Everybody in the group spoke highly of their food. The service was great, as usual. I recommend the Sahara for anyone looking for good Middle Eastern food.
We have discovered this middle eastern restaurant by chance and after trying it out we would recommend it to anyone who likes different cultures and different food. The food is great, service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere there is very middle eastern. Decor is wonderful, love those tables. Try tajin lamb, you will not regret it.
I feel like I'm going home for lunch when I come here. I eat here on a regular basis and Lubna and Mo are great owners who make you feel special while keeping the food at the highest levels of quality and taste--our favorite Mediterranean restaurant anywhere--and we've been to many of them around the country.
Amazing food and excellent service. My fiancée has always been a bit wary of trying Mediterranean/middle eastern food, tried Sahara and absolutely loved it. The fresh pita bread they continually bring out is amazing, everything is fresh and delicious. Well be back again for sure. If it's your first time venturing into this cusinine or its your favorite, this is the place to come
