Chef Mohamed's creations are a real treat. They are truly unique so you are not going to get dishes you see anywhere else. Everyone I bring to Saha Lounge or his previous, Berkeley, restaurant is truly impressed with the whole meal. You can't go wrong.
Food was delicious. Server was warm and friendly. Chef came out to greet us. Overall, great dining experience!
Saha serves some of the best food in San Francisco. We brought friends who are foodies to introduce them to Saha and they loved every dish. We ordered 7 different dishes and that was just about right. The cost was surprisingly little, especially for the quality. Fresh ingredients, unusual flavors, and a terrific night!

Hands down one of the best taste experiences I’ve ever had. So glad Saha is back in SF. The staff is really approachable and knows the menu. We are already planning our next night out and who can handle all the taste without a category 5 meltdown. Zero chance you will disappointed.

Saha, located in the Carlton Hotel is one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in San Francisco. Every dish had us swooning in delight. I am so glad they returned to SF from the East Bay. All of our out if town guests want to go there when they return for a visit. Just delicious!!!
Limited time so a limited review. My first time here; my wife had been here several times before. I had a Yemeni salad with one of the nicest spicy dressings I have ever tasted. I had a vegan mushroom dish that was very nice with subtle spicing amidst layers of phyllo. The lamb curry had generous amounts of lamb but the sauce was a bit bland. More spice would have been to my taste. My wife had salmon amidst layers of phyllo; very nice and surprisingly large amount of salmon. Her scallop dish had 4 large scallops, beautifully prepared. Melted in the mouth. I cannot recall her last dish. She had a glass of wine. It was Tuesday evening so our 3 dish pre-fix dinners cost $35 each plus tip. Total was $123, including my latte and wife's glass of wine. A good value in a casual atmosphere where the service was excellent and the cooking reflecting of someone who cares about their cook craft.

This was our first visit to Saha and the food was outstanding - such delicious and interesting flavors, served piping hot. The seared octopus salad and salmon baklava were stand outs. The prix fixe menu was a good deal ($45 for 3 courses) and very filling. We left stuffed and happy.
My wife and I had a marvelous meal at Saha to celebrate our anniversary! This was our second visit, and we tried the 3-course prix fix menu this time, which was a $35 special during a weeknight. All of our selections were incredible! We enjoyed the soup of the day and the fattoush salad, which were brimming with freshness and flavor, a stuffed eggplant appetizer called maashi, filled with wild mushrooms and pine nuts, and the salmon baklava starter, which is one of the most unique and tasty salmon preparations we've ever eaten! Our entrees, the spicy seafood tagine and Saha yellow curry were silky and delicious. Our server was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and Chef Mohamed is a master of flavorful, healthy, and unforgettable cuisine, making for a truly memorable dining experience!
Always fantastic an experience of modern-Middle Eastern shared-plates dining at Saha, by talented chef Mohamed and his crew! This is one of our favorite places to dine in SF, and in fact anywhere in the US for that matter.
Saha should be one of the most poplar restaurants in San Francisco. The Yemeni food is unique and very tasty. The menu offers so many attractive dishes that we always end up sharing what everyone orders. The wine list is fine and service is attentive. The quality of food for the prices is what is especially unusual in San Francisco. This restaurant is a great bargain!
My wife and I visited Saha for the first time, and we were ecstatic about our dining experience! The menu was so varied and wonderful, with outstanding options for our interest in vegetarian and seafood choices. We had the salmon baklava and stuffed beets starters. These items were delicious, mouth-watering, and so different than anything we had ever tried before. Our entrees were the curried scallops with a silky cauliflower puree and a lovely lavender sauce, and the black mujadara, which was a delectably roasted combination of black lentils, tofu, rice, butternut squash, tahini, and Yemeni spices. The flavors of these entrees just jumped off of the plates, and melted in our mouths. Service was great, with a calming and comfortable atmosphere, and the chef, Mohamed, came by to chat with us, and he gave us a light and flaky pear and phyllo dough tart for dessert, which capped off a truly memorable meal! Chef Mohamed was so nice, that he even arranged for a taxi to meet us at the entrance so that we could finish our dessert and still make it in time to get to the theater to see Hamilton. We so much enjoyed everything about Saha, that we are planning to return in a week to celebrate our anniversary. This restaurant is an absolute gem!

I’m so happy I found this spot with my bf. The food was incredibly delicious! Everything we tried was amazing: salmon baklava, okra, and back mujadara! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Nob Hill. I will be coming back here soon!
I've been visiting Saha for the past 5 years and the food is always top notch. Fresh, clean and flavorful, as each dish has it's own uniqueness. The variety of having meat, vegetarian or vegan allows me to bring friends or family without worry of their eating habits.
We went to Saha shortly after it returned to the Hotel Carlton with a full menu. Saha had spent a few years in Berkeley and our Nob Hill neighborhood missed its hidden gem. The restaurant and the room have gone through a few iterations since it left.
The room is now brighter and more hotel-like, although we preferred the old, darker and more intimate look and feel.
The food is just as good as we remembered it to be. And, just as good a value.
We'll return soon and often.

Really delicious. I'm vegan and there were so many options. The mushroom terrine special was off the chain, as well as, the vegan knaffe dessert. Servers were super lovely, too. I would definitely go back.
We were a party of four the other night and we had a lovely experience. First of all, entering the Carlton hotel was a pleasure as the lobby is filled with eclectic art from around the world and we were greeted with a String Quartet.
Then we passed the curtains into the restaurant to a warm welcoming and exotic atmosphere. The menu is filled with wonderful choices and reinterpretations of classic Middle Eastern cuisine.
This time, we had stuffed eggplant, lamb meatballs, duck pastilla, prawns in rosewater, salmon baklava, and okra. All dishes were delicious and distinctive from each other.
I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to return visits!
Great to have Saha back in the neighborhood. A fantastic menu filled with interesting and inventive dishes (the salmon baklava is terrific). Take your food fussy friends - vegans, gluten-free, fish only or meat-eaters - everyone will find something delicious. The wait staff knows the menu, the wine list is well priced for glasses and the ambiance lovely.
Great food by an amazing Chef!!
Almost everything we ate was subliminal. Two full dinners (3 different plates) could probably feed four plus maybe one or two other plates. We really liked the eggplant appetizer, the octopus salad, whatever the vegetarian entree option was, and the entree scallop dish. Affable waiter and cook. Once the two giant parties dining there when we arrived departed, we could have a conversation without yelling. But noise level even in a fairly empty restaurant was high.
If you go and need to use restroom, be aware that you need to ask for card key from reception. Nobody tells you that!
Saha is back and it is even better than before. Mohamed the chef and owner is a magician in the kitchen. The food is delicious and absolutely divine.
Saha is our favorite place to eat in San Francisco. The food is fabulous, fresh and artfully prepared with the finest ingredients. Each dish is unique and all dishes have incredible flavor. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The quality is superb.
We were heartbroken when the Berkeley location closed, so we made the trek to SF for the first time. It was well worth the trip, as the food was as good or better than at the Berkeley location. We have a person with celiac and a vegan in our family, and it is very hard to find places that have many options for both. We will definitely be back!
Fabulous food in a great atmosphere. It is clear the chef/owner cares about what is served and takes pride in serving fresh food with wonderful flavor.

The food is a sort of Arab fusion cuisine invented by the chef, who seems to be a self-taught genius. Every dish we tried was excellent, including soup and dessert.
Everything was delicious. We enjoyed meeting the chef.

Saha is a hidden gem, tucked inside the Hotel Carlton. I had dined there several times before they closed back in 2016. And it was a nice surprise that they reopened in the same location in 2018. This time around they offer small plates to share. Each one we selected was delicious. Beautiful presentation. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. For three of us, the total was $ 130 before tip -- two of us had a drink (beer, prosecco) and we shared: Cheese Board, Lobster Tail Farina Cake, Chicken Bastilla, Pizza, Curried Scallops, and for dessert a Pear Tart and Banana Baklava. Will definitely be back.
So happy to see this wonderful gem back in SF where it belongs. The food was fantastic along with excellent service. It all made for a perfect evening !
Great food. Amazing flavors that you would not find in most cuisines. There are a variety of dishes from lamb to vegan dishes. The desserts were incredible too.
The food here is so good. Seriously good. We went for a preconcert dinner at the Masonic (quick walk). The fatoush salad was delish. My husband doesn't usually like lamb, but loved the dish we ordered. I am still obsessing about the chicken bistaya. I'll probably go back soon just for that dish. Our server was excellent - gave great recommendations on dishes and wine. The only less than stellar dish was the chocolate pudding. My bad - should have noticed it was vegan. Oh, and not a full bar, but a nice and interesting selection of wines and beers - not the usual stuff. Nice cozy atmosphere for date night. Will go back soon.
I randomly booked this spot using open table, and the options for a late dinner with vegan options was limited. BUT WOW.... did it surpass our expectations! every single thing we ordered was AMAZING and delicious. I can't wait to go there again!
Nice to see Saha return to Hotel Carleton in SF. Really love Chef Mohammad's dishes and was really sad when they moved. Saha brings wine, Yemeni food, and a California influence together for a fantastic combination. Highly recommend making this restaurant part of your regular rotation.
