Sage Vegan Bistro - Echo Park
Reservations are for Dinner service only.
Our Echo Park location is small and we do not have a full time reservationist. If you have a large party please call the restaurant and leave a message or email email@example.com.
We will do our best to accommodate you but you may want to try out our Pasadena Location for larger parties.
Really nice server named Candice! She is a true all star in the industry. Our host had a bit of an attitude but otherwise all was well. Nice menu variety with something for everybody. Filling portions. The ambience as nice because it felt like a normal restaurant - not "in your face plant-based" with a live plant wall or something, it just felt like a normal cute cafe. Another nice feature is that they have baked items and coffee to go in the front, or you can be seated for a full meal. Great Echo Park brunch spot! Vegan menu is a delightful plus. Again, Candice was great!
This place is delicious and I recommend to anyone if your experimenting with vegan food. The vibe is perfect and have delicious drinks and great tasting beers for any taste lovers.
Food was too salty and burnt in places. Avocado toast was very disappointing. Drinks were good but pricy. Too expensive for the quality of food. Server was fine but not attentive. Would have appreciated more water on the table.
Disappointing for the price.
the food taste like boxed food☹I didn't feel I was eating food freshly cooked
It Is exactly what you expect but over priced. Vegan / vegetarian food can and SHOULD be cheaper than the meat alternatives, not more expensive. A plate of maybe half a head of cauliflower with buffalo sauce should not cost more than the wings of half a dozen chickens. Don’t get me wrong, they are delicious cauliflower. But if you take a bottle of Franks, some clarified butter (or vegan alternative) you’ll find that you could create this dish easily for less than $4. I understand the economics of a restaurant, but still, £15-17 dollar ‘share plates’ feel overpriced. Nachos come with a generous helping of jackfruit ‘carnitas’ which is a popular draw at Sage, it’s good as far as jackfruit carnitas go, slightly under seasoned with a ‘liquid smoke’ aftertaste.
There is a good selection of drinks, in house microbrewery with changing featured beers, carafes of wine (I had a decent red at my last visit - full bodied and fruity Pinot Noir from Oregon)
I have visited the restaurant many times and tried various menu items, lots of friends seem to want to meet here and i’m always excited to eat at vegan spots, however, I tend to feel dissapointed at the end of each meal at Sage and nervous of the bill.
Loved it. Great food, really fantastic service
So amazing!!! Loved everything - the menu (drinks and food) are creative and delicious!
One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to in LA yet. There are so many options on the menu but you can't go wrong with whatever you choose.
I took some friends to Sage to celebrate someone's birthday. The menu was full of selections, something for everyone. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the dishes I tried - especially the jalapeno poppers!
Food was good, a lot of flavor.. They get you in and out, which I like because I hate waiting.. Our server was super nice. If you’re a vegan and love for food, give this place a shot.
Food was good, service was good, made this reservation last minute but was very happy with how it worked out. Definitely will be back
Our server Trina was awesome!
Wonderful experience celebrating my birthday. Excellent service, delicious food. Will definitely be coming back!❤️
Amazing vegan food and beer with many options. They were a bit slow on the service and forgot our espresso but otherwise awesome place!
Food was fine and a bit bland. Service was a bit slow but they were busy and we weren't in a hurry. Had we been trying to make a show it would have been stressful.
Favorite Vegan restaurant in Silverlake. I could go here every weekend.
The best food and such great service !!! Can’t wait to get back soon ! I had the raw tacos 🌮 so delishious !! ❤️❤️❤️
Delicious, outstanding vegan restaurant with a full, well-stocked bar. Check it out; you won't regret it.
Took my friend out for dinner before she left for New York and we had a great experience. Always love coming to Sage and already looking forward to our next meal there!
So delicious always! Consistently yummy and I know it’s good for me! Great place to linger with friends, chill on my own or even for a date- love this place
yes the place really lovely, staff super nice and very cool
I recommend this place but the portions for most dishes are too small I wish there could be a more filling serving portion.. Or the price should go down drastically.. The price for these dishes dont allow anyone of a single bohemian lifestyle much budget or for a family.
Very good food, slightly disappointed with portion size. Almost too much food to choose from!
I love the decor of this place! And the food is excellent - you can definitely take non-vegan folks.
Amazing food, great location!
Food was great, staff friendly and efficient. I've been seeking a spot near The Echo that suits me well and now I've found one for nights I'm attending shows at the venue.
I decided to try a vegan restaurant as I am not even a vegetarian- it was ok. I believe for me it’s a texture thing.
It was a bit salty which made it difficult to really taste the food.
Great rear and street parking, staff friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
Really amazing nachos
Kinda Pricey but quality food and every level of service I encountered was friendly and considerate. I go to the Sage in Pasadena and love it. I will definitely be back to this location when I’m in the area. Definitely recommend the cashew cheese, avocado smoothies and raw truffles (if you like the flavor of dates). Loved everything I had !
Once again, Sage is a hit! I brought a non-vegan friend who was unsure about having a vegan meal, he was extremely pleased.
This place is badass! From the decor, to the friendly staff, but especially the food, YUM!
Food was so salty and courses were not paced out, thus leaving us feeling rushed to eat and with an overcrowded (tiny) table.
I took a coworker from out of town here.
She is a meat-and-potatoes kinda girl.
So a vegan place that impressed her says a lot.
We were both in heaven with the Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza!
From the host to the server and bartender I’m just amazed how this place is in business. I’ve been to the other locations many times but the echo park location needs some service training.
The food was really great. We had tacos, pizza and ice cream. Very yummy.
Food was great, server could have had better menu knowledge, but considering it was the first night of Dine LA he gets a pass.
I had a reservation at 8pm on a Thursday for 5 adult male Co-workers and they said they had a table held for us. When they sat us, they sat us at a 4 top booth and expected us to squeeze 3 men on one side and 2 on the other. I asked if they could put us somewhere else with more room and they could not. I knew it would be busy, that is why I made a reservation the day before. Kind of disappointing.
The food was amazing. No complaints there.
Service was fine. I feel like our server was nervous because we had asked to be moved and the manager couldn’t accommodate us.
We made it work, however it was exactly the reason I made the reservation. I wanted it to be an easy hassle free semi casual business dinner and it def started rocky with everyone cramming into a small booth.
I have to add. We were all on the larger side of build, so it was extra awkward/annoying trying to cram into the booth.
I love sage in Culver City. The service was poor in echo park. The wrong items came to the table. The waitress was rude when I told her it was wrong. Very disappointing experience. The food got me sick. They had a problem that day with refrigeration and my whole family got sick.
Delicious and Amazing!
Great atmosphere and well balanced, creative menue with quality ingredients and concept.
