Sage Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Food quality very good. Meals made to order so great care taken for various dietary requirements! Service is attentive and friendly. Convenient location in Cape Canaveral with plenty of parking. Although it is not a “kids “ kind of place, there are children’s options.a solid place with reliably good food!
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Sage. There's a dearth of fine dining establishments in this area so we were happy to find Sage Bistro. Generous portions, well executed and well plated. Delicious duck rolls, fish croquettes and fish chowder (the soup of the day). Good salad with excellent dressing(s) (though salads should be tossed with dressing; if it MUST be served on the side, don't place the dressing dish on the salad plate!). We would highly recommend the chorizo-crusted fish and the pesto shrimp as well. A gem on beachside.
The great reviews on line are tue! This is by far one of the best restaurants in Brevard County. The experience surpassed our expectations with great tasting food and our awesome server, Linda. She made us feel very welcome and answered all of our many questions about the menu. Linda even opened the door for us on our way out to wish us s good night. The food that we ordered was cooked to perfection and REALLY delicious. The food is taste bud sensational! We appreciate the great quality food at such moderate pricing. You can taste the freshness and flavors from tapas to dessert. We won’t wait for a special occasion to return again. We will also be requesting to have Linda as our server when we return. Her smile and service was truly genuine. Thank you!
Was very surprised by how good the food was at the Cape Canaveral restaurant. I had the Caesar salad and shrimp with pesto on potato hash and my husband had the schnitzel. Both we excellent. Note out side sign on restaurant is very small and hard to see.
That being said this is a place we will revisit.
The food we ordered was excellent. My wife and I ordered 4 tapas to share and the other couple we were with ordered an appetizer and entrees. Each couple also split a cup of soup. Everyone was very happy with their food. Unfortunately they were out of the duck spring rolls which everyone wanted to try. We did have a little trouble with our server though. She seemed overwhelmed to start with, which was reasonable considering the busyness of the restaurant when we arrived. However, she never really recovered even when things slowed down. At one point we had to ask another employee to check on the soups, which she retrieved immediately. Overall we were very impressed and hope to return to try again.
It was my wife’s birthday and we wanted good food
I had check the reviews on open table. They were positive we were thrilled at the people who welcome us. I have been telling my neighbors about the food, service
This is a top shelf restaurant. A real keeper!
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner on New Years Eve. The veal schnitzel was the real cutlet, not the leg. Homemade spätzle, yum. I had the filet mignon with grilled asparagus. Also shared an order of the soup of the day. Can't remember the name but it was creamy with mushrooms and was mouth watering. We hope to be back soon to try other dishes.
The food is very good. Had the mussels for an appetizer and they were excellent. The mushroom soup was also excellent. I ordered the Sage Alfredo with chicken, it was a little salty but overall good and reheated the next day perfectly with a little chicken stock. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Only complaint would be our server was just fair. For a restaurant that is offering such good quality food I would expect a server that would be more top notch. She was not personable or informative of the food, specials, or drinks. Also never mentioned that the fish of the evening was Red Snapper. Almost felt as if we were just a ticket with a tip for her. Owner was present however only spent time at one table and felt the owner should have floated around a little more to the other tables. Chad the bartender definitely brings life to the restaurant and has a very upbeat presence. Makes fantastic drinks and is very accommodating. This was our third visit. We will return however would opt out sitting in the section that server is in.
We all loved our meals , even our 11 yr olds. The hardest part was figuring out what to order, it all looked so good. The service was informative, helpful and spot on. Loved everything about the restaurant but thought it could use a little more interior flare to match the quality of the food and service. I have been singing praises about Sage Bistro as soon as we got to our car.
Thank you and will return very soon
We went to Sage Bistro because of the reviews and were happy we did. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, sat and told the specials and who our server would be. Our server was quite busy and there appeared to be a good ratio of servers to tables.
For an appetizer I had the special soup, tomato. It was good - not the best but good. For our main meals my husband had the sea bass with asparagus and avocado mashed potatoes. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the special fish, grouper with rice and green beans. Again, perfectly cooked. I had a glass of the house Pinot noir and it was very good. The dining room is romantic and dimly lit. The tables are well spaced for holding private conversation. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. I wanted to try so many items on the menu which is always a good sign. Enjoy!!
Open ambience and friendly service. Food was excellent and timely. All in all a wonderfully delicious experience. Cant wait to go back and try some more different dishes....would highly recommend Sage Bistro as a quiet, comfortable, pleasant dining experience.
We used to frequent Izzy's when it was in this space. We noticed the Sage sign driving by, and wanted to check it out. We went on a Wednesday night, and it was packed. Had we not made a reservation, we would have been turned away. I had a variety of appetizers as my main course, and they were all delicious. My wife had the Wiener schnitzel which as also good, but we are used to larger portion sizes of this dish in Europe.
Sage has become our local favorite. Staff welcomes you and means it. Food is farm (or ocean) to table, always fresh, and absolutely delicious. I am GF with some other food concerns, and they easily accommodate me every time. Noise level is ambient, and easily allows conversation at the table or bar. Bartender is entertaining. For my husband’s birthday, they put a customized twist on one of their desserts and did not charge us for the dessert as their gift to him. We love going there with friends who have not been there before and see how many hidden images they can see in the tree of life painted on the back wall. Parking is free. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Our 2nd time at Sage Bistro & the food was just as good as the first time (and why we came back). Our waitress however was working in slo-mo and completely unable to multitask. She took 10 minutes to figure out we were there, then brought water, 10 minutes later took our drinks order... you get the idea. They weren't that busy and she only had 2 other tables that I could see. When we finally got to order (almost 45 minutes after we arrived) she double checked that the special that 2 of us were ordering was still available, it wasn't, fine we ordered something different. Then... 10 minutes later she came back and told us that the other special that 2 of us had ordered was also gone! So they had reorder "Oh let me get you menus... Should of brought that with you. Needless to say our reservation was for 6:45 - we didn't leave till 9pm.
My wife and I have made this our go to place in the Cocoa Beach area for a nice evening out. As usual, they did not disappoint. My wife had the schnitzel and it was perfect. I however, could not decide, so I put it to the chef to serve me his choice. What came was a wonderful Bison Shepherd's Pie! In my opinion, Sage is the ONLY upscale dining establishment in this area worthy of a visit.
Our evening started with a greeting from Sarah and a description of what the chef was preparing. We were celebrating a birthday - and Sarah went out of her way to ensure that it was a delightful event. The appetizers where plentiful and tasty, the entrée incredible.
Shared deserts followed and we were fortunate enough t have the pastry chef present and could give him our thanks.
This little gem is truly worth a drive for a wonderful evening of any kind.
Food was good once we got it. Service was lacking, because the server forget to reserve food (lobster pot pie) and it was given to other tables, so my spouse had to reorder, and then my food was wrong once it arrived. It took 75 minutes to get our food for a table of 2. They did NOT offer to reduce bill or give free items to make up for their mistakes. Rookies!!!!
Fabulous from start to finish! The food was fresh, made from scratch and creatively delicious. The service was exceptional, attentive but not intrusive. The two of us started with mouth watering hot bread straight from the oven, then shared an appetizer of tuna poke with seaweed salad over rice. I am not usually a fan of raw fish, but the tuna was so fresh and so well-prepared that I ate it with gusto. I had a side salad with rich, made-from-scratch chunky blue cheese dressing, and my husband had the Hungarian beef soup, which I tasted. The rich creamy paprika-flavored broth was inspired, and the beef was tender and abundant. For the main course I had shrimp with bacon in pesto cream sauce and my husband had sea bass. Both were absolutely wonderful--the chef knows how to season to perfection without overpowering the fresh taste of the ingredients. We drank a Hahn pinot noir that was suggested to us, and it was the perfect accompaniment to both dishes. We finished our meal with made-from-scratch desserts. My husband , who almost never orders dessert, loved his strawberry-rhubarb crisp, and I had the best chocolate mousse I've ever tasted, rich and light at the same time. All in all, a very memorable dining experience. I can't wait to go back!
I had the chorizo encrusted sea bass, it was outstanding. Overall great experience my mom had an issue with her meal but they fixed it and compensated the entire entree. My son may have a gluten allergy but they have a pretty extensive GF menu. My wife had the chicken pasta special and it was amazing.
This is a marvelous restaurant and an exceptional addition to the dining options in this area.
The standard menu is wonderfully complete, and the daily specials that are prepared by its outstanding chef are unique, extremely interesting and wonderfully tasty.
A visit here could disappoint no one...there is something yummy for everyone!
