Arrived at restaurant to be told they did not have our reservation and that they had closed their opentable account months ago. They did offer to seat us, however only had 3 entrees available. We declined and left. Not impressed at all.
Excellent food and service! Thoroughly enjoyed eating there and will be going back.
Glad we made reservations as the place was packed. My fourth visit over five years and the food remains terrific. Best eatery in either Inyo or Mono counties. If you are in Bishop at dinner time this is the place.
We always stay in Bishop on our trips north. The Creekside Inn, Sage & Shatt’s are our must go to places. The front staff are really nice and friendly which is welcome relief from the artificial welcomes of the big cities. For some reason our food was not as good as before. We will continue to make it our go to place. I’m sure next time will be better.
We were passing threw bishop great find. Except we had a very loud person next to us it was very difficult to talk to my husband. But it was probably not totally the restaurant fault
Absolutely delicious! Never miss an opportunity to dine at Sage when driving from Arizona to the Bay Area.
The food was delicious!!! We had the baked brie and the filet mignon
Used Open Table to locate. Awesome Going back tomorrow night. Best in Bishop by far.
The first bite of Caesar salad sold us. Everything else from the bread to dessert was so good. we are looking forward to our next fine dining experience at the best of the best.
A couple blocks off the beaten path but if you haven’t tried Sage for dinner on your way through Bishop then you’ve missed the finest secret for 200 miles in any direction.
The food is prepared impeccably and the service matches perfectly.
Don’t miss the opportunity!!
Wonderful find. Not expecting how good the food was. Would definitely come again. Already told our kids they must stop there if their passing thru Bishop.
As always, Sage was perfect. We took our son, who is a foodie that has worked with great chefs.
He appreciated everything, from the bread basket to the incredible desserts. One disappointment was that the salmon cakes (appetizers) were not available. We drove from our home in RIdgecrest just for a meal. The service is exccellent, the wine choices delicious.
Overall the best restaurant in Bishop California by far
Love Sage...we go there twice a year when we visit Bishop en route to Palm Springs from Canada.
Absolutely everything that I have read. Food was as delicious as the presentation.
I had Salmon and Polenta and my friend had the steak.... onebof the best ever he said!
This was our second visit to Sage while traveling thru the area.
Food is very good and is compatible with high end restaurants
in Palm Springs and San Francisco. Service was excellent and server was
very friendly. I highly recommend
Quite hidden place down in Bishop. Enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly!
We were a party of 6. We all enjoyed our dinners. We selected, duck, salmon, lamb shank and the steak and shrimp special.everyone was impressed with the flavor of the meal. Nice presentation, the plate size is smaller but
you get a good portion of food. It is. It is a jewel for Bishop residents.
Great food. A pleasant surprise in Bishop.
Fabulous! A real gem in Bishop, Ca. We love it and always dine there when we are in town. A truly tasty and lovely experience. Thank you!
Definitely one of the nicest, if not the nicest, places we've dined at in the area. Server was super-friendly and unpretentious, and the vegetarian dishes we ate were tasty. It can be challenging to make a plate of grilled vegetables delicious and satisfying, and our dish was just that. Mushroom appetizer was also very good. We were very impressed with the marshmallow strawberry dessert! A definite must-try. We always come here for dinner whenever we are in the area, and we highly recommend it.
Delicious meal and great service! Highly recommended!
Food is absolutely AMAZING, my wife and I were passing through town for night and found Sage on yelp. Great staff, the owner/chef is a great guy and he is truly a master of exquisite cousine. We are from San Diego where we find amazing food, Sage ranks up there with the best we have ever had....anywhere! A must go to spot!
Took my Fiance here for a date on 2/17/18. I had the braised lamb and she had the 8oz. steak. Both were absolutely fantastic! I've lived in Bishop my whole life and this is by far the best food in town!! Definitely worth the money! Great wine too.
Our Carmelized onion soup was OUTSTANDING!!! Bread was wonderful. . Vegetables cooked to perfection ( al dente ). . . & Filet Mignon delicious ~ my only very small complaint was that when I ordered the steak Med, it was so thick that it was too rare for me. But of course you took it back & re-cooked it for me, & you even added more vegetables.
We love SAGE ~~~~~
The quality and choice of foods was extremely good. Great find in a great city like Bishop.
We travel through Bishop several times each month depending on the snow conditions in Mammoth. Most of the time we stay with friends in Bishop and when we do, we have a date night at Sage. The food is excellent as is the service which is genuinely friendly.
Amazing food, presented beautifully!
We like Sage for better food, little nicer place when in Bishop. The dining room is so simple as the be bare, but functional. The service is good, but a little over stretched. There were two girls at a busy time waiting, running and busing all tables - so there were some slightly long waits at points, but not too bad -- the girls were going as fast as they could! the menu has a number of good selections, and the food is generally quite good.
The food, it's presentation, and service was outstanding. We travel through Bishop four or five times a year and always eat at the Sage Restaurant. We have never been disappointed with food or service.
We've been here a few times and we are always pleased with the food and the service. Shelby, our server was terrific. This is the only place in Bishop for fine dining.
Sage is wonderful food in a former bookstore? so the ambience is a bit plain, though nice paintings on the walls. Not really cozy, and can be a bit noisy - BUT - it's the best food in Bishop. Portions are on the small side, a good thing. Very inventive vegetable presentations, soup and salads very good. Menu not extensive, but what's there is different and delicious. Lovely experience.
We visit Sage twice a year...once on our way down to Palm Springs.....and on the payback to Canada.....a super little restaurant
Best restaurent in Bishop by far. Excellent and well presented dishes. Service very good. Room is plain and can be quite loud.
We had heard great things about Sage and decided ti check it out. We were not disaspointed! The buffalo meatloaf was delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked. We loved the vegetables and potatoes. Fun wines at reasonable prices! The service was perfect. We’ll be back. Best (only?) fine dining in Bishop!
Fabulous place, great service by Carly, food prepared to our liking. Homemade ice cream topped off a great dining experience
If it was closer, would be here more often. Came in from Michigan !
The highlight of our trip to Bishop! Amazing restaurant, excellent food and great service!
As always, we were not disappointed! Food was amazing and the service is outstanding!
We just happened upon Sage and were quite delighted with it. Tasty food, and pretty nice service. Not quite the ambiance as some places, but I'd most certainly return!
Nice restaurant in Bishop. Have been there several times. Food is mostly excellent, though this time my salmon was overcooked, soup or salad comes with entrees. Nice vegetables on the plate. My husband had a delicious chicken breast with mushroom mustard cream sauce, really excellent. Soups are some of the best we have ever had in a restaurant. The service tends to be on the slow to very slow side, though the servers are friendly. Had significant wait even though we had reservations.
