Sage - A Plant Based Bistro
What Insiders Are Saying
Some of the best meatless food in the city.
Excellent food with a great atmosphere. Easily recommendable. Will be coming back again soon.
I just got home from dining at Sage when I got your nasty gram about not showing up. We did and we let them know that we made the reservation through open table. Don’t know whether the problem is with you or them but I really don’t like getting scolded for something I didn’t do! It really sours me on you both!!!
Love the cauliflower buffalo wings. Love this vegan gastro pub, everything is delish!!!
Great food but awful customer service
Loved the many options!
Food was great!
Christina was friendly and a great energy!
Maybe it was an off night. Maybe it was because it’s been raining so much everyone wanted to eat out. 3 of us were in the corner booth. The place was packed. The noise level was terrible. The music was unbelievably loud and with all the noise we couldn’t even talk. The fries came to the table ice cold. The waiter bought another hot order but by this time we were pretty much done with dinner. We will go back but maybe when they’re so busy the music should be low or off. Am I now sounding like my parents???
Food was great, ambiance was great, service was lacking. I think they just needed some more staff working the night we were there.
I'm still dreaming about the Cauliflower Steak and broccoli. It was outstanding. Thank you!
Our waiter was unprofessional and seemed to barely care. The food was too strong in umami flavor .
I love this place. Every time I go I am reminded of what a great lunch/brunch place this is. It was a great place for Valentine's day as they had roses for everyone. Their detail to attention and customer service is key.
Very diverse menu in the sense that even meat eaters can enjoy the vegan options such as the Cauliflower wings to their Coconut Calamari.
Amazing vegan restaurant and lively ambiance.
Nice alternative, I’m not vegan however I enjoyed my meal and will be back.
The food is always extremely fresh and delicious; can't go wrong!
One of my favorite restaurants! Love Sage
The vegan menu is outstanding. We had calamari and the texture mimicked real calamari and the sauces quite complementary. I've eaten here several times, as its in the neighborhood, and am never disappointed. The cocktails and beer offerings are great.
We ordered off the Dine LA menu.
My friend wanted lasagna, but they had run out and it was not available.
I ordered the only GF entree that was available. It was pasta that lacked flavor and sauce. The manager said it was not made properly, and they could remake it or delete it from the bill. I chose the latter, since we had already been there for 1 1/2 hours.
Sage has the best vegan food in LA! Everything is so flavorful and filling - we ordered only 3 plates for 2 people and left almost uncomfortably full but 100% satisfied! Their dessert is to die for. Would definitely come back.
The food is DELICIOUS! Our only problem was that we had a reservation and they did not have a table prepared for us and part of our order was not initially brought to the table. But the servers were wonderful and we loved everything we ordered.
A favorite Vegan restaurant in LA! A must for amazing vegan food.
Amazing food, serivce was okay, noise level was deafening. So difficult hearing my friend across the table. Why are all restaurants designed like this?!
I love this restaurant. The food is great. The drinks are wonderful.
We are vegetarians, and usually good vegetarian food is hard to find outside Indian restaurants, and some Italian, Middle Eastern and Thai places. Sage is an excellent American restaurant with delicious vegetarian and vegan options. The ambiance was excellent, the service impeccable and the food was fantastic.
It is not inexpensive, but for a nice meal the price is reasonable. We took our dog along since we were traveling with him. They accommodated us in the patio seating and it was very comfortable with a patio heater making the LA January cold even milder. :-)
Loved it, service is quite slow, but food was yummy and can’t wait to go back.
This was my first time dining at Sage, and the food was delicious. I had the Greek salad with quinoa, buffalo cauliflower and ginger tea. The most memorable part of my experience was our server, Mickie A. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very patient.
Love this place, the energy and homey environment. It was cute and the food was extremely flavorful and amazing !
This is the best restaurant in southern CA. The Buffalo wings are addicting!
I always enjoy coming to Sage. Wonderful food and service!!! Their restaurants have the best vegan food in LA!
We had an unusually wonderful server this time! She was very nice and lovely and classy :-) I don't usually find that at Sage. These marinara sauce for the artichoke has been watered down for the past several months which sucks but it used to be amazing. Buffalo cauliflower was amazing as always! A small portion for the price however. And finally the ambience was way too loud inside as usual so it's hard to sit and talk with friends. It is also very very cold and the server acknowledged that it's freezing there even when they have the heat on apparently so it seems like that's not really being addressed.
I have been enjoying this restaurant for about two years now. Amazing cuisine.
I am never disappointed with the food here. Drinks are pricey but strong so it’s worth it! Even my non vegan friends love the food!
I had the banh mi tacos, the entire dish was sour. It left a bad taste n my mouth, literally and figuratively.
I’m allergic to soy and my friend is vegan, so this was an amazing find for us.
The food was DELICIOUS! I am not a vegan or vegetarian and enjoyed every dish that was ordered. Service needs a little work, but overall a great experience.
I needed to bring the time of the reservation forward by 30 minutes but I couldn’t see a way to do it from your booking platform so I called & left a message. Someone called back & left a voicemail acknowledging receipt of my message, without confirming the requested change, & asked me to call again. I called several times & it went straight to voicemail each time.
We were celebrating my graduation, with family & friends who had flown in specifically for the event, & so we all needed to know what time to arrive at Sage. It was already a very stressful time for me, as I finished everything up before the commencement ceremony the same morning. Sage’s lack of communication just added to the anxiety.
We arrived at the restaurant not knowing for certain if my request had been accommodated.
We were seated without any problems when we showed up.
There were 9 of us so we spent a small fortune. Most of the food was over seasoned, had a strange aftertaste, my husband was very gracious, & relieved the drinks hadn’t spilled on clothing or bags, but the waiter barely managed to say sorry.
Such a disappointment. We will definitely not be back.
It’s better to go to a restaurant that’s not vegan or gluten free, but which has these options on the menu. Especially when there are carnivores in the party.
Sage is one of my favorite restaurants. I eat there at least twice a month. Tremendous variety and vegan options that even my carnivore friends love.
If I could cook like this, I might go vegan. My favorites are quinoa cakes and fried artichokes. The bowls are tasty and hearty. And treat yourself to salted chocolate caramel cheesecake. You won’t be disappointed;-)
I am so thankful for Sage! It has been very challenging to find a vegan restaurant with gluten free options that I would want to go to for a dress up or casual date. Sage is also very accommodating for groups. I am never disappointed with the food, atmosphere or service. My husband and I came the first time and met some friends and the second time celebrated our anniversary. We drive down from the SF Valley and it is absolutely worth the trip!
Great place close to the airport for me and my girlfriend to grab brunch before flying out. Love the location, the food, and the service. It’s a little pricey but well worth it.
