Sagano - Clarkston Ratings and Reviews
We were immediately greeted by a not so friendly bartender who was extremely rude. For a $7 drink, it was made very poorly.
Our waitress seemed nice, at first. Our chef was extremely hard to understand and did not cook our food as requested. 5/7 of our group ordered steak. It was extremely chewy and everyone's over cooked, even when we checked with the chef several times what type of cook we wanted. We very politely told the waitress about the steaks, who was less than helpful. When paying that much for food/experience, I expect more than mediocore- which is what I would rate my experience overall. We will not be returning.
Started out rocky, as our party of 7 was crammed elbow to elbow with another group. Also the ceiling was dripping on a member of our party. We requested another table and after 20 minutes were moved to a table less crowded. The rest of the evening was great! Will definitely return.
Although the food and the chef were fantastic, I will not go back because of the rude behavior of our server. From the moment we sat down he made us feel very rushed, like he just wanted to turn tables as fast as he could. We barely sat down and he wanted to take our drink orders. He brought the soup and salad out at the same time, and delivered the bill right when we started eating. We hadn't eaten half of our meal and he was handing us boxes for our leftovers. When we spend $160 on dinner, we expect much better service.
Our chef wasn't as fun as the others.. we had several kids of all ages at our table and noticed the other chef's were more engaging with the kids..I think he was upset because our group didnt want "grill butter" and that complicates things . There was a metal latch under the table by where the kids were sitted that fell off and kept hitting their legs. thank goodness they were kids and handles it well
Love going to this Saganos because compared to the others around you get sat and fed a lot faster. They have some new chefs it seems so it's not as entertaining as the other saganos we've been to because of the lack of experience so if you are just going for the entertainment then I would say go to a different location or just give the new chefs a little time to get more experience.
Had to wait about 25 minutes though we had 7pm reservations. The Hibachi Chef that we had was very entertaining. The food was very good and you get a lot . We all took leftovers home. It is pricey but I would go back . They need to work on the decor- needs some updating.
The food is outstanding! Same with the service. Highly recommmed Saganos to any and all. I really like the opentable option because I can make reservations any time of the day or night. There isn't anything I personally would change. Five star!!!
The overall experience was ok. We had a 7:00pm reservation and was told there would be a 30 minute wait. What was the point in making a reservation? We were then told there were only 2 chefs working. Once we were sat ended up sitting there for about 20 minutes before a chef was at our table. Everyone but 2 of us ordered white rice. We never ended up getting our rice from the chef. Had to ask the waiter for it, took another 10 minutes. We as for drink refills where 2 of the drinks never came. We were given our bill and carry out containers before we had even finished our meal or asked for containers. My husband asked if we could wait to get the containers or put them at another table as we had no room on the table to put the containers. The waiter seemed ticked that we asked. I'm making another reservation for tomorrow in hopes of a better experience. If not, I think we're done with this location. :(
Our whole family usually gets together at some resturant for someones birthday. I have to say this was the best place we have been to. It was so much fun and the price was perfect. We will deffenitly come back here often. I'm so glad I decided to have my grandsons birthday at Sagano's. Thanks for the great time..
Very entertaining, Prices are reasonable, Food is very good. Staff is very attentive and friendly.
Drink menu is mainline with some keeping with the atmosphere. Chefs are friendly, very experienced and talented. Be prepared to play the popcorn "Toss & Catch", except with meat!!, Your prize is the exceptional food prepared by talented Chefs. Arrive with fun and conversation in mind.
We were all impressed, my two teenage girls were less than thrilled to go and ended up with smiles the entire time. Both picky eaters loved the food and the chef. All I can say is 8 thumbs up from all of us! The Chef was so talented and funny we will be going back.
