   We love the cuisines of India. So when we were in Montgomery, Alabama this week, we were thrilled to learn there was an excellent Indian restaurant there. It's always a good sign when you can choose from several kinds of naan, and Saffron didn't disappoint on that front--we enjoyed the aloo naan (a delicious Indian flatbread, this one is stuffed with potato and herbs). But oh my goodness, the saag paneer! (That's a creamy spinach dish with small cubes of fresh cheese). The gorgeous tandoori-cooked fish! The spicy eggplant! The perfect samosas--crispy on the outside and packed with buttery potato and peas inside! We didn't expect to find our favorite dishes in the Deep South, but here they are. Can't recommend Saffron enough.

   Delicious! Started with mixed veg bhajia, then for dinner enjoyed dal fry and Chana masala with naan. Enjoyed everything (and the mint chutney served with the bhajia was delicious too)! Service was really excellent. Ambiance was just ok. If they dimmed the bright lights, it would make an immense improvement. Also, owner (or manager?) should put his cell phone on silent; it kept ringing, and that made the meal less enjoyable as well.

   Great food - plenty of it, well prepared and tasted excellent. Always difficult to find decent Indian food anywhere across USA. Ambiance and decor need some work! Holes on the ceilings, untidy(dirty) restrooms and overall shabby. But, saw through that for the food. If you’re not into Indian foods, then the ambiance will put you off. We love Indian food and so can accept the place for the food, the warm greeting from the staff, and ability to eat what we like.

   Food and service were excellent. They had some Bollywood style music videos on TVs throughout the restaurant. Maybe a good fit for an Indian restaurant, but still distracting to me

   Enjoyed learning and tasting the different foods! Floor was extremely slippery.. but other than that it was good. I wish they had a guide for beginners.

    This was our first time visiting this restaurant. It was very good and the staff was welcoming. Just wish there were pictures of the menu items because it is very hard to know what dishes are if you have never had them before. We will definitely be returning soon with our entire family!

    Saffron is a delightful restaurant with a very happy, pleasant atmosphere, extremely attentive service and some of the best Indian food we’ve had in ages. I was thrilled they had Peshawari naan! The portions are so generous as is the gracious manner of everyone there. We can’t wait to return!

    Sunday buffet! Lots of interesting things that we tried. We asked for iced tea with our meal and received it but never got a refill and no offer of one. As we were leaving, we were told that they charge for each glass of tea (including refills). I'd have paid but never had the chance due to no server approaching table again. Lots of interesting and tasty food. Much was a little shy on heat (I suppose to cater to American palates). I'll go again but this restaurant does not follow typical protocol of refilling glasses, etc. I've never been to India, but I guess it's their way.
