We like to eat here after a movie. Very convenient. Good food, quiet atmosphere. A nice wine list.
Saffron is definitely an Indian Bistro. I wanted to take my son, who was visiting from the D.C. area, and celebrating his birthday to a unique Indian restaurant. Saffron fit the bill. The real problem was me because I could not eat spicy, any, spicy foods. But Saffron came to the rescue sending one of their more experienced waiters over to our table to explain the dishes I might be able to enjoy and why. He kindly and patiently named the different ingredients in each. By working with us, I decided on the chicken in a cream sauce that was outstanding, and I was able to tolerate the spices this dish contained. In the future, when my son visits, we can both enjoy a wonderful evening at Saffrons.
Thank you again.
This is our third visit to Saffron. We really love their food, it's always delicious and served just right.
Our meal was Butter Chicken with naan bread.
Saffron is always consistently excellent with wonderfully spiced selections.
This was the first time that we had visited Saffron although several of our friends had recommended the food. As we come from UK, Indian food is a great favorite. The first impression was not great, although the main dining room was fine, and the service was a little slow, even though the place was not full. Unfortunately, the menus had large pieces of food on them and there was no bartender to make non-alcoholic drinks for my daughter....so not a great start to the meal. When the food did arrive the portions were excellent and the food tasted great.....if only the restaurant was as good as the food!
Service was nothing to write home about, but this place has the best Indian food around. Good location with lots of free parking. Always our stop when we come to VB Town Center.
Good food, but [inexplicably] not as good as their sister restaurant, Monsoon. They do have a lunch buffet, which Monsoon doesn't have. Their service leaves a lot to be desired.
We enjoyed the variety of food. There was a language barrier with some of the servers. It was very clean and had a great view of the park. This restaurant has the potential to be an upscale Indian food restaurant.
Good curry in a fancy establishment with linen tablecloths and comfortable seating. They have quite a bit of upscale competition in this neighborhood.
Chili garlic naan for the win. Sure, there's naan. And then there's garlic naan. But have you ever had a naan with garlic and cilantro and green chilies? Try it, you'll love it.
I had a simple chicken korma in a medium spice and it was tasty with plenty of flavor and lots of chicken. Scooped onto the rice, it was an excellent and quite filling meal. Not quite enough to share between two but enough to take home for lunch.
The food has such an amazing level of spices and unique flavors. I will go several times a month for lunch.
The food was excellent, enjoyed my appetizers and main meal. If you are looking for good Indian food, thats the place to go.
We love the Virginia Beach Saffron location and eat there quite regularly.
The food quality is amazing and so is the selection. Portion sizes are large enough to share one dish between two people and still get a full meal.
You MUST get the Gobi Manchurian appetizer! It's so fabulous that you'll end up getting that dish every time you back.. and you WILL go back! Lol
Great vegetarian options that are packed with flavor and texture.
You'll love it :)
service was extremely slow. It was a bit busy for a Saturday night. The restaurant should be prepared to accommodate larger crowds on the weekends and have more staff. We waited over an hour and a half for our food.
We dined with a large group and the service was decent. Though my glass of wine was cleared from the table before I finished it, I still enjoyed the dining experience. The food was fantastic and very flavorful. I would absolutely go back again!
It's been a while since we visited Saffron for dinner, but went there on a Friday night with another couple. Many of the tables were filled when we arrived at 6:30 so we were taken to the "back room". Service was great throughout the night, food was great as it always has been and even with a full restaurant the noise was minimal.
Our server recommended a veggie appetizer, something I hadn't considered, and everyone enjoyed it. And there is always too much to eat in one sitting, so we each had enough to take home for a light lunch.
Seated for 10 minutes before any service at our table of 3 on a January Monday 6pm, 38 minutes for our order to get to the table with no staff attention at our table during the wait-very poor service-the food itself was very good and I would enjoy eating it again but only as a carry out order. There were only a handful of other tables to be waited on and yet there were 4 visible staff, no excuse for such poor service.
way too much delicious food....not that that is a problem. Mixed grill and butter chicken made a fabulous pair that served as 2 dinners. nothing to want for...delicious.
Food was fantastic and so was the service. Our waiter made some great recommendations and seemed to enjoy serving us as much as we enjoyed the food.
Rude and/or indifferent service ruined this experience. I'll stick with Nawab or Rajput for Indian cuisine.
Very tasty! Great service! Going to go back for sure.
The food was amazing and the service was top notch. The only con I would say is that we did wait longer than expected to be seated. This will in no way hinder me from coming back.
This was the first time we tried an Indian restaurant. I must say it was amazing. When we first walked in the door, the smells were wonderful! I am not a fan of spicy foods, but the mild variety was ok. The portions were huge! We had enough leftovers for dinner the next night. I look forward to returning to try something else new.
We had company from NYC visit lately. We wanted to take them somewhere with an interesting menu. Saffron is it! The menu has loads of choices of beautifully prepared indian food. Everything was outstanding-from drinks to dessert. Great place and the free parking next door makes it very easy.
i have eaten here twice, and both times the food was excellent. a wide variety of foods: some traditional, some modern, but all delicious. i highly recommend the crab biryani.
They appeared to be overwhelmed with too many diners and not enough servers. We watched a guy clean off a table while we were sitting there waiting to be noticed! When we finally were approached by a waiter, the food was very good and hot!
So, great food, poor service…by the way, this is not the first time this has happened to us here….unfortunately!
We dined at saffron on sat with a group of 8 people. We tried a variety of dishes and especially loved the lintels, rogan josh, and butter chicken. We had great service, and even my 3 year old loved it. Our server brought her fig and cashew ice cream as a treat. It was a really fun night.
Food was good. Atmosphere and overall experience has been lost since the restaurant was made bigger. When restaurant was smaller, more individual attention was received. That no longer applies.
