Love the new outdoor space. Makes dining out in these difficult times a more pleasurable experience.
This was our first outing since the pandemic . A get together with friends. We were very comfortable at our table of four. Expert safe service. Professional and cheerful service. It was a wonderful dining experience enjoyed by all. The food was outstanding. Buttered chicken to die for, lamb chops best in town, everything so fresh and tasty. Happy to see they added an outdoor dining area as well. Can’t wait to go back.
Love it! Reliable delicious and friendly!
We never expected to find great Indian food in southern Arizona, but we did. The food was very good as was the service. The quantities were larger than expected and the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The complimentary papadam was very good as was the plain naan with its fresh grilled flavor. The highlight was a unique mushroom dish: "Mushroom Do Pyaza". There are tons of vegan and vegetarian items to choose from. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for quality Indian cuisine.
Service and food were outstanding!!! We would highly recommend to all our friends!!
Food was great as always. But that night service was painfully slow. So slow that it caused us to have to modify our plans later with our out of town guests. I hope that doesn't keep up or it will affect how often we make the drive up north to dine there.
Our hostess and servers were welcoming and friendly. The food was the best Indian we’ve had in the states. Everyone was helpful and efficient and we loved the decor.
Always excellent. Chicken tika masala and lamb vindaloo.
Love this place!
Great modern ambiance. Excellent service. We came in on a local recommendation and were not disappointed. We will come back and try more dishes. Great find!
Delicious food! we were there at an odd time, 3:15pm -it was very quiet & took a while to get our food ...but def worth the wait!
The food is delicious and the service is great. Great atmosphere. I do recommend a reservation.
Staff was kind, personable and professional. Onion Bhakti and naan were disappointing. Our other dishes were excellent.
We were very pleased to find such a satisfying Indian meal in the Tucson area. I have tried a few places, and Saffron has been the best in terms of the food and the service. I wish they had another location in closer to central Tucson or further east. But we found it worth the 25 minute drive to Oro Valley to have such a good experience. Lots of options and everything the 4 of us had was quite delicious, and very fresh. We opted for "mild-plus" in terms of spiciness and we could have gone hotter. Saffron is willing to spice each dish according to the diner's preference. Highly recommended.
There was so many things wrong I am going to just write billet points:
• only one other table with customers, yet they sat us at a dirty booth, with no water goblets- we waited until someone finally came to clean off the rice all over the booth. (Though every other table had water goblets and looked clean)..
•we ordered samosas w/chutney which took a long while to come out- so we had already finished our water- the waiter said he’d come back with more water, but he didn’t.. we asked again when he brought the samosas and he said he would get water -but didn’t come back until the main course was being served
• I asked if he could please get us water and just leave the pitcher since it had been such trouble to get our waters refilled- the woman at bar seemed annoyed at the request and the waiter finally came back with two pitchers (not sure why- we could have only used the one with out Ice)..
• they were cleaning the floor while we were eating (I find this extremely rude for a restaurant to do this before the time they say they close (9pm) - then I understand it, but we were under served due to everyone mopping sweeping wiping ..
• this waiter seemed extremely new and was as least friendly as he could be - he didn’t return to our table to check on us I. A timely fashion..
And the food was okay- but not like it has been in the past- the samosas were over cooked .. the mango chutney is over-charged.. and when we took 1-2 the food back home, I must say your to-go cleat plastic containers are the worst! And giving plastic bags instead of a brown paper is a huge shame!
We have come in many times and enjoyed your restaurant- but this $82 + tip was not worth it at all!
Sorry to give such a bad review.. but it was sub-par!
Still the best Indian in Tucson for us. Service good but i wish they would acknowledge returning customers.
We were so excited to be eating at Saffron. I cook Indian food and have traveled there twice. I found the food very boring and blah. I have eaten at two food trucks in Tucson that are much better with very interesting flavors. I will try other Indian restaurants before going back to Saffron. The service was excellent.
The food was excellent as always and we had enough leftovers for a second meal. But the service was fairly slow, both to get our food initially and to get our checks when we wanted to leave.
We loved the food, the service was amazing, it was little too loud.
Some of the best Indian food I have ever had. The rice was fantastic. And the garlic naan is to die for! The service was great and very friendly.
Saffron is serving up some of the BEST Indian food in a contemporary, clean upbeat setting with a view of the Catalinas. I've lived in Burma and Malaysia and thought everything I tasted was superb. I've never had such excellent service when ordering the buffet lunch. Heather was very attentive and took time to tell me more about Saffron. I moved to Tucson 10 days ago and have dined there 3x. Heather recommended I also come for dinner because of the special lighting and plating for the unique dishes that are offered. I plan on doing just that and being a regular customer.
This place is amazing! The food is absolutely outstanding, everything very fresh and made to order with your desired heat level. We live in the DC area, where we have excellent Indian food, but this restaurant was easily on a par with the best DC has to offer. And the green chili pakoras—that’s something you don’t see on an east coast menu! The Vindaloo was the best we have ever had—very tangy and complex. We wish we were here longer so we could eat here again.
Nice place to try a new cuisine. Our waitress was very knowledgeable
and took time with us. Very good flavors...
One word of warning, anything with potatoes will be at least a two or three out of five stars for heat. One of our members wanted zero to very low spice, but the recommended dish had potatoes in it. She was miserable after dinner.
Delicious food and fabulous service. Highly recommend!
There is amazing service at Saffron. My favorite things to order are their delicious Tandoori options, curries, and breads. Just a great restaurant!
Oh what an amazing place. Food was really delicious. If I would live in Tucson I would return weekly. The best samosa ever!! Also the curry Mughlia and the biryani were great.
Yummy amazing experience.
Our server John was professional and although the restaurant was very busy, John made sure we didn’t lack his attention.
The Tika Masala is exquisite!
Came home to Tucson for the first time in 20 years. Brought my family to see the best of Tucson and the Saffron Bistro was an excellent experience! Food was excellent and the staff was very friendly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Birthday dinner! Wonderful service, friendly attentive and helpful. Food was superb as always. Great night with amazing food!
I highly recommend Saffron Indian Bistro for all of you Indian foods fans out there. I've been to a gazillion
Indian places in NJ but I've never tried one here in Tucson and I definitely made the right choice. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our server, Billy was a true professional. Make sure you order the garlic naan bread to have with your meal, it is delightful.
Best Indian food I've had in this state.
At least 50 characters in length yet?
Excellent service and food.
Will recommend highly
Great service, charming waitress, good food & excellent prices.
Service was amazing. Friendly and helpful. Water glass was Alaska’s full. Food was superb. Wonderful choices and fantastic tastes and experience.
This is without doubt the best Indian restaurant in Tucson. The food is outstanding and the service was professional. The place is obviously well managed and the staff is attentive yet not overbearing. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you try it once, you'll be back again and again. Worth a visit!
I’ve never had a bad experience at Saffron. Food and service are always first rate. One of my favorite restaurants in Tucson.
Love it! We always come here when we come to Tuscon!
