This place had good reviews. Wife felt it would be a fun place to take the kids. Staff seemed to make a decent attempt to keep the theme and experience going. Waiter came to take are order and informed us they were out of burgers...1/3 of menu is burgers. We rolled with the punches and ordered other items. Daughter ordered a brocolini dish and they returned to say it was unavailable as well. I shared my ramen with her and we semt it back. The fish tacos and whatever my wife ordered seemed acceptable. I think this place turns into a nightclub in the evening? When we booked the reservation there wasnt much availability, but we were one of maybe 4 tables at 245 in the whole place. I felt like I was waiting for restaurant impossible to storm in at anytime.

Was fun for the kids, but we arrived at 4:30pm and our food (nachos and chicken tenders) didn’t not come out until 6pm, after we asked for an update. The nachos were missing part of the ingredients, and there were no dipping sauces offered with the chicken tenders and tater tots. Fun experience but we also didn’t get the final prize/ gift bag.

This was my first time at the Chicago location; having visited the original Safehouse Milwaukee in 1975 while visiting a friend who was attending Marquette University. I had very fond memories of my visit to the original, but was very disappointed with the Chicago location. The drinks were ok, but the appetizers our group ordered were mediocre and after ordering entrees our server informed two of us, ~ an hour later, that our orders could not be served due to a problem with the gas burners. I believe that this was a promising venue for Chicago, but probably never adequately recovered from the covid lockdown. I just received an email yesterday from the owners stating that they were closing this location permanently! A suggestion would be to convert the space into a spy-themed escape room attraction.

There are a lot of reviews complaining about the wait times and the food so I was skeptical. Honestly if you are in a hurry or want an amazing meal then this isn't the place for you. This is an ambiance place, an experience place. Getting in was fun! And our server was very attentive. There was an issue with the flat top so no burgers, but I had the fried fish and my husband had the curry and both were very good. Our kiddo had chicken fingers and fries. The drinks were good as well- recommend the Vesper Linde cocktail. You go on a mission while you wait so you aren't just sitting waiting for your food. Even leaving once you are done is fun. The lasers were no match for my big booty! We had fun, we got full, the kiddo has her mind blown . She's 8. This place is great for kids.

Place looked cool, took my 12 year old daughter and wife. The service was horrible. Took 15 min for a server to come over another 15 min to get drinks . Asked for water multiple times got after I had my food for 20 min. The food was trash and I mean trash . We ordered are food and appetizers, everything came out together , why? The food was cold and like I said trash. I asked for the check and left. Never got any name tag or book they were giving the kids to look for clues and stuff for whatever game the had. Best thing about the place is the walk out . Don’t waste your time .

We arrived at a red door that we were welcomed in had to play cool games and find our way to restaurant The front desk talked fast and greeted us in the theme of restaurant We were seated immediately. It was a small area, very tight and uncomfortable, in front of tv showing outside surveillance. Our hostess came over and let us know this small area was only place to sit because of one server. We were two adults and 2kids. We were served water with glass cups ? Even though we had two kids. We didn’t get our food until. He later we arrived at 5:20 I think. 6:05 we received food and we got our appetizer after food my sister didn’t get her Cesar salad until 15 mins after us. The restaurant is fun to explore. We took selfies but never received pictures. Drinks and food was amazing taste great !!! I think it was a slow night or low on staff but everyone was friendly and the food was awesome

Mediocre food but HORRIBLE service. Not crowded at all but we waited 20 minutes for apps, and then another 15 for the one that didn't arrive. We had been there 40 minutes and still didn't have drinks. Nobody cleaned used plates away and had to ask FOUR times for drink refills.

The entrance alone was intriguing! The food and drinks were amazing. I love how the staff and experience was interactive. The exit was different as well, I'm glad I'm an official operative and found my way out. It was definitely an unexpected twist. I will definitely be back!!! Fyi I think they messed up the doors in the bathroom though 🤣😂

This restaurant has a great concept but really needs to decide who it wants to appeal to. My kid and I went at 7:30 on a Wednesday, we started by having fun it was filled with families and we had a great time exploring. The waitresses were great and played along with the theme. Suddenly at 8 pm a gentleman came around and said at 8 pm we play explicit music. He wasn't kidding at 8pm sharp it went from fun to embarrassing. The families all tried to leave as fast as possible. The restaurant emptied out so Im not sure who they were catering to, especially on a weeknight. Families certainly didn't feel welcome at that point. I don't expect good food in a theme restaurant (and the food was pretty bad boarding on inedible) but why drive out your main customer base? I would not recommend this restaurant it definitely put a damper on my night.

The idea was neat and our kids were excited. The entrance and exit were fun. They were very understaffed and had poor communication. We had 3 different meals brought to us before they brought the correct one, and when it was correct, it was only 1 of our 4 meals, with 10 minutes between the rest being delivered. We ordered drinks and never got them. The scavenger hunt the kids do was not great-my kids were hoping for more of a spy experience, like decoding secret messages and such. One of the clues was to look at a map and name the southern most city marked. There were no names on the cities though, and regardless, my children are 6 and 3, so it’s not quite appropriate for younger kids.

The overall theming and experience sets up for this to be a very fun place dinner. The night we were there they were experiencing issues with the "kitchen staff" which meant service was painfully slow. We waited 45 minutes at our table just for drinks and an appetizer. When we heard the people next to us had waited 90 minutes for their food, we cashed out and left. Might try it again hoping for regular service, but there are so many other cool places to eat in Chicago it's not gonna be at the top of our list.

After an hour being seated, the kitchen manager came to tell us the kitchen had a mess up and food would be out shortly. After another 30 minutes, it still wasn’t out. After we asked for literally anything for 2 very agitated kids to snack on, a hostess brought fruit out and let us know the kitchen manager would be back to talk to us. Runner finally brought our food out a few minutes later. Kitchen manager never returned to the table. All the while, our waiter didn’t refill drinks. At all. For over 2 hours.

Not the best for young children (my kids are 5 and 1.5). We were there for about an hour before we got our food. Food was mediocre at best. It took about 15 minutes before we even were able to place a drink order. Incredibly loud environment. I ended up leaving early with my 1.5 yo because he was over tired and over hungry by the time the food was served.

First time visit, had read some reviews which I don't always take to heart but it was mentioned about lack of staff and time waiting to be seated and served. Our waitress was great the night we were there, it did take a bit for us to get seated with reservations. The overall experience was good, things that maybe could be better is the lack of selection on the menu however this may be a spot that is not to have a big variety. Second as popular as it seemed of an establishment it could be staffed better.

Honestly it started off strong, the entrance is fun and not the typical restaurant welcome. But once inside things dropped off. 1. We waited for a while (after being sent in) for a woman to take a phone call before being seated and she looked at us like why were we standing there. And literally asked us why we were standing there to which I said , “ we are waiting to be seated.” And she said “oh” no acknowledgement of what happened at all. 2. The decor and theme are fun but if you go on a night with lots of little kids get ready. depending on where you are sitting you are an active participant in their efforts to solve the scavenger hunt. As a mom, I get it. But kids were laying on the floor and servers couldn’t get by. it was a lot.

We had a reservation and were told we could be accommodated at the bar instead of a table. When I asked for a table I was met with a lot of confusion and frustration. After arriving at our table, it took our server 20 minutes to come over to our table for the first time. While in that period of time, we were overwhelmed by the loud noises and ambience of the place giving off a very “chuck-e-cheese” vibe. After receiving our drinks 35 minutes after arriving, we decided to not even attempt to order our dinner and left to go elsewhere for the night. Not worth your time unless you’re going with small children.

Everyone was very nice, and the food was good. But I made this reservation as a birthday surprise and the host confirmed they would send out a dessert with a sparkler. We got there at 6:30 and it took 45minutes for a burger to come out so I had to ask for the check as soon as the burger came so we could make it to a theater show in the loop. We sat in the bar area and the server was very nice but clearly a bit spread thin, so I think they should have staffed another person in that section. At one point they blasted the music up to a nightclub level, other people around us seemed surprised too. We had to bring our empty plates and glasses up to the bar even though a busser came up to us several times… Had to go up to the bar to pay to make sure we can leave on time. We still had a good time but seems like they were maybe short staffed with kitchen and servers since we spent over two hours there for an appetizer and a burger. By the time the food came, we had to eat it quickly, and pay and leave 10min later. Birthday dessert never came/we didn’t have time to wait for anything else. Still a fun place, but go when you have lots of time.

Server was great. My son and I had fun doing the missions. My tacos were good and huge and his meal was great. Boyfriend was disappointed with the mission impossible burger, much smaller than he expected especially for the money but it tasted good. It was a lot of fun and it's definitely different and that's what drew us to it.

The food was extremely salty, we ordered the Fouches fries & there were barely any cheese curds & we asked for extra cheese sauce, fries were extremely salty. Then we tried bird watcher, which was so salty we couldn’t finish one piece. The MOAB burger was amazing and the tots are average. It cost about $30/per person. I think other tables were solving missions but we didn’t receive. It would be best to just go for a drink and a larger crowd.

I took a group of 9 to this restaurant after we did the Escape Room next door. I have been here before and knew that it wasn't the best food but I figured they would enjoy the experience. Which they did. The food was mediocre and definitely NOT worth the price you pay. $25 for a Mac & Cheese, you would expect that you would have some to take home. Not so. They will not split the check and you are left with figuring out who owes what. I didn't realize until we got home but we were charged $2.30 for R&M. I have no idea what this was for. They did not have 3 or 4 of the beers requested. They advised supplier didn't deliver. Staff and manager were very pleasant but if you are expecting a great meal move on.

The first time we went to this restaurant, we loved it. But when we went back, our waiter barely checked on us and got our order wrong - we had to ask for something to write on our name tags, he didn’t give us the scavenger hunt, and he added bbq chicken to a Caesar salad that we’d ordered. We had to wait over 20 minutes to order our food and we waited so long after paying that we had to ask one of the hosts to lead us out. Our second experience was so bad that I don’t know if we’ll ever come back.
