Phenomenal experience for our goal in Chicago over the weekend. My 14 year old daughter had the greatest time at the Safehouse and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. It’s not just a themed restaurant, it’s an adventure for the entire family. We loved the video and viewing of antics when customers initially come through the door down to the final mission of searching for a way out. It was so amazing to find us in the lobby of our own Hotel - the magician was stupendous and extremely impressive. We will definitely be visiting the Safehouse during every future visit to Chicago.
It was a fun place for our kids ages 13,15 both boys. However we had a 5:30 reservation, our food never arrived at our table till 6:55. Over an hour wait to receive our food? No excuses for this.
Fabulous place!!! So entertaining and unique from the moment you open the red door. My teenagers got a kick out of everything. And our server Agent Vee was so enthusiastic and never broke character...so much fun for us! Food was delicious too. Highly recommend!!!
This place is SOOOO fun! The people who worked there were friendly and made the experience fun. And my food was really good. Had one kid who liked the Mac and cheese and another who didn’t. But my kids are still talking about how this was the best part of their Chicago vacation!
What a fabulous experience! From the get go there was excellent communication and a sense of excitement. My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our evening. The staff were great fun and fully in character, and the set up is amazing, right up until the moment you leave. The next time we are in Chicago, we’ll definitely be back!
Great place for families, kids 5-12 will love this restaurant
Very unique dining experience with lots of gags. Food was good. Men's bathroom was a little strange as toilet tried to flush but would not. Siren would go off every time you would try and flush the toilet which was funny but not very productive. Fake bathroom doors were also funny. Everyone was entertained. We had to do a ballerina dance to get in as we did not know the password. Good memories now on video.
It was okay... more of a place for kids than an adult date night. There were many children running around trying to do the scavenger hunt while we were dining. Also the food was okay, mainly burger and fry place.
I really love SafeHouse and had been before, but this visit was not up to my previous expectations. Service was rushed as our waiter was overloaded with tables, many aspects of the dining experience were shortened due to how overwhelmed he was. Leaving the restaurant, we were told to use the service elevator instead of the usual secret, fun exit. I was disappointed in this experience but I regarded it as a fluke in the system. Still a fun place to go, but there were minor issues that all seemed to pile up for us.
Fun place for kids. Food was good atmosphere Was amazing. A must go
I knew going to this restaurant meant it was going to be a tourist trap with mediocre food, but I expected the spy aspect to outweigh the bad food... nope. The spy decorations/lingo/missions were cute, but not fun enough to make up for the awful, bland food. The only person in our 7-person party that enjoyed the food was the 5 year old. Everyone else either got something that was seriously uninspired, had no taste at all, or was too salty. Our waiter was nice but forgot drinks and took a long time to check on us. He also forgot to bring us a prize for a mission we won, until we reminded him twice about it. Definitely would not go back and would never recommend to anyone else. Plenty of other fun restaurants in Chicago that also have great food.
This was such a fun place to take the kids, they had so much fun! And so did we.
Took my children there for my son's 6th birthday. They had a blast! Love how interactive it is and my kids loved the magician. The service was great - they all get into the spy theme. Food was good, my kids had the burgers and my husband and I shared some appetizers. I think you go there for the ambiance over the food though.
So much fun with little kids!!
It was everything that I'd expected. The place felt like neutral ground for spies and assassins. The service was fast and friendly and the wait staff did an excellent job of living into the world that the restaurant was portraying. I will definitely return for this mission!!
A fun place for families with elementary and older kids. Lots to see and keep the family entertained. The food was good. The kids meal price was a bit expensive as they are too busy to eat their food!!
Great food and awesome environment. We had 4 kids with us (ages-3, 6, 7, 8) and they all loved it. It was their favorite part of Chicago!
This was a nice family restaurant. My 8 year old daughter had a great time!!
This was a very cool concept. My boys, ages 2,5,and 9, LOVED being secret agents during this dining experience!
It's a really cool experience, the food was surprisingly good; you have to go ready to have fun and be a good sport; go once for the experience, go back with your cousin visiting from out of town!
Great atmosphere had a great time food could used a little more seasoning
Had a great time at SafeHouse. Amazing choice for a first date! When we arrived we did not know the password but easily passed the clearance test to prove we weren’t double agents. The spy theme is well thought out and executed throughout the entire experience. Friendly staff and servers who were helpful on our mission to explore the safe house to find out the password. The overall feel is very cool with both hidden and plain sight allusions to espionage. Will definitely be returning. Protect the password at all costs. ✌🏾
Great experience, visited with my family and my nephews, everyone had a fun and unique experience.
We had a great time. Fun for kids and adults! Food was good.
Second time and service took forever- ordered burger and fries and for broccoli- BROCCOLI! Understaffed.
Cute idea but the food wasn’t good at all! Worth seeing once but won’t go back.
Loved it. Great family place. Waiter was great
very fun! a nice interactive experience and a good value... buy the whole experience
Very fun for kids! Great atmosphere! The food was not great, I would not recommend the spy package for adult or kids for several reasons. Simply not worth it. Order your food ala cart. Souvenir cup included with spy kid package is nothing special. When we got my sons drink I thought it was just a kids cup at first and we missed the souvenir, but nope the traditional kids cup you’d expect to get is the souvenir cup. Kids are so preoccupied with the magician and everything else that they don’t care about the cup or even the food really. The spy meal package advertises bottomless sides but the staff never asked us once if we wanted to “refill” on a side. You also get an appetizer per adult with the spy package, again not worth it because you’re gonna be up walking around with your kids looking at everything that you won’t have time to eat an app. Our waiter got our drink order wrong and billed us for two cocktails when we only ordered one. We then waited 30 minutes for our waiter to check in on us after we were done eating to get our bill. I had to approach another staff member to get our bill (which was wrong due to the drink) so we waited even longer to get it corrected. I would definitely recommend this place as a fun place for kids, just don’t expect great service or food and do not pay for the spy package.
Fun for the kids! Front door guy was amazing! Food was meh, but you go for the experience!
Wow what a fun opportunity and experience! Affordable and a memory to cherish!
Birthday. Was fun
Excellent for a different fun night out with kids. I saw all adult tables, but really it seems geared for kids old enough to read, explore, and understand a bit about spy stuff. Fun night, would recommend for a unique fun evening!
Fun place to go but food was disappointing for the price.
Took my 8yo son for a “mom & son” dinner date. He absolutely LOVED it. So much to do, a the missions he was given to find clues were a blast. Personally, for the higher prices, food was nothing special. Service was a little slow, and my order was wrong twice, my sons food was brought out cold. But honestly, he didn’t care. Despite that, we’d go back for the experience alone. Very fun.
We love Safehouse. We came here last year for our rehearsal dinner, and returned on the very same day one year later to celebrate! The food was yummy and our server was very attentive and kind.
Food was cold and service was slow even though they werent busy
Crypto is the man
Had an excellent time. Laughing all night. Our server agent Polaroid was a hoot.
Unfortunately the service was not the best upon our visit. The food quality was mediocre. But the vibe is wonderful. Likely the only reason to really go back.
