The restaurant was closed for NYE even though it stated it was open on open table. I was able to make a reservation on Open table which was confirmed but when we arrived to the restaurant for NYE, it was closed. Bc it was NYE it was very difficult to find a restaurant that was open and had availability for a party of 6. The trouble and inconvenience of the last minute change was very stressful for the night.
Their kitchen was closed this day due to Santa Con but they were still allowing reservations to be made on Open Table which just seemed very unprofessional to me
Sabrosa had a private event yesterday evening. Upon my arrival I was told this and told that they were unable to accommodate my 8pm dinner reservation. I then tried to cancel out my reservation on OpenTable, which I couldn’t because this app already thought I was dining at Sabrosa. This app told me to call Sabrosa and they didn’t answer. Terrible experience/ no restaurants open for reservations 8pm on a Friday
Very average. Quality has gone down since our last visit.
Great restaurant. Close to our hotel!
Dirty sticky seats and tables. So many better choices in SF.
Was a great place to have dinner with my friend - we enjoyed a few margaritas and some delicious food
Very average. We went for brunch and were the only people in there. The food was fine, but the place was empty so there was no atmosphere or ambiance. I think this is definitely somewhere that livens up towards the end of the day, and I'd avoid for brunch
Highlights | Cocktails + Music
- The Con Pasion cocktail is one of the best passion fruit cocktails I have ever had. The only issue is they do not serve their handcrafted cocktails later in the evening on Fridays or Saturdays.
- The music was on point and everyone was dancing / having a great time as the dance floor is quite large!
Downfall | Food
- The food was not flavorful at all, which is so strange because the cocktails had so many layers to them.
- The tacos were bland (meat was not seasoned), the salsa verde did not have any spice to it, and we only received a spoonful of guacamole that we paid $9 for.
- I would only recommend this place to a friend if they want well crafted cocktails or if they would like to dance the night away.
Our server was nice but there was only 1 server for the whole entire restaurant. Why would such a busy restaurant be understaffed on a Saturday?
Fun time! We were there for the Tuesday happy hour.
I organized a brunch there this past Sunday and the service was awful. The server asked surprised we asked for coffee with breakfast; she did not bring a spoon to mix in sugar; we had to ask for table settings; she charged us 20% gratuity - it was NOT an option even though the service was horrible.
Food was great; service was very poor. I did let one of the guys know. However nothing was changed or adjusted in our bill.
Ok food but seriously loud. Could not hear the others at my table!
Food was subpar
A group of friends and I went here for NYE, had a great dinner/drinks even thought it took forever to get our orders and one of them was wrong. It became a problem when we started to leave and my friend realized he was sitting in gum and it ruined his suit. We brought this to the restaurants attention and they originally offered $50 off our $350 bill. Less than my friends suit, but whatever. When we go to pay, the manager changed it to $25 off because "the gum could have come from anywhere" even though their staff cleaned it off the stool he was sitting on...
Food was great but this was just gross...we got this plate for appetizers.
The flavors were uninteresting. My companion had veggie tacos and I had carnitas, both equally bland. Only jars of generic hot sauce were offered until we inquired. At these prices, I would expect something special.
They refused to seat us and said that they canceled all reservations but never told us.
The food is overpriced and terrible. $12 for guac and SOGGY chips and you only get one scoop of guac, I don't understand how they can get away with charging $12 for one smashed up avocado and soggy chips. We also ordered the breakfast burrito and it was disgusting and oily. Yes, chorizo is oily but this was like dripping with oil and the only other thing that came in the burrito were eggs. No onion, no tomato, no potatoes, no beans... just oily chorizo and eggs. The Enchiladas were tiny and the sauce was way too salty. The bus boy hit on my friend asking her if her boobs were real. I will never come here again and will also make an effort to deter friends from coming here.
We decided to celebrate our birthdays here since one of us had been there before. The food was over priced and lacked authenticity considering what it claimed to be. The environment went from cozy brunch to wild party—with loud music, obnoxious patrons and the service disappeared.WE WILL NEVER RETURN. Waste of money
Service was great and drinks were good. Food was poor quality, surprised this is acceptable to anyone looking for Mexican food.
They were in process of changing menu so that we were a little disappointed because their menu items were mostly not available.
Menu reduced to five bar items. Disgraceful.
Terrible service. On 10/22/2017 they were serving from a limited menu and the food we did receive, after waiting almost an hour, was awful. The manager did come out and apologize and comped our food, but what a waste of time!
IDK which was worst: the food or the time it took to get it! Which was OVER AN HOUR!!!!!!
When I called to check on my reservation, the lady who answered the phone at Sabrosa forgot to put me on hold while she yelled and cursed at her co-workers
Really good food! We were surprised by the quality of the food since we’d never been there but everything was delicious and healthy and creative.
Food was Great. It was a very hot day and our server was very attentive. She ensured we had ice cold water at all times. She also made recommendations for drinks that were nice and spicy :) Food was great as well.
Went here for dinner. Food was very good, cocktails were great too. The thing that does not make this a good dining experience is that the music in this place is so LOUD, me and my date had to yell at each other to converse. It was really distracting and hard to enjoy dinner. At about 10:15p, the servers started turning the tables over I guess to turn it into the bar-only place this becomes. Seemed a bit early to kick diners out and make room for the bar crowd, but whatever. Although the food was quite good, the noise level was too much. I wouldn't come back here for dinner, maybe just for drinks.
We wanted to try this neighborhood spot and were looking forward to it. There were 3 of us for an early dinner. The place was empty but service was still slow throughout. As for the food, we started with guacamole and well, like no other. Cucumbers?? The tacos were wet and sloppy made to look like street food with little flavor. I had the fajitas and once again, little flavor. We had really wanted to like this place as we love Mexican food. We dine at the sister restaurant, Belga, and we love it! We took their recommendation to try it and I will say, back to Belga!
We went when a game was on and it was self service - the wait for a drink was 40 minutes!!
Sabrosa had delicious food & margaritas. The background music was very loud. We got used to it- but loud.
They were out of several menu items and we had reservations at 5:30 pm.
The staff was friendly and again, food was delicious.
The music and drunk crowd were so loud, we had to yell to each other across a 4-person table to be heard. The guacamole portion is tiny and is full of cucumbers, which is odd and not on the menu. The food is decent, but not anything amazing - not worth dealing with that environment.
Made a reservation at Sabrosa for Cinco De Mayo. Upon arrival the entire restaurant had been turned into a bar with very loud music and dancing in the middle. There were a few dinner tables pushed to the sides that were reserved. One of these tables was ours (right next to a loud speaker). This made for a terrible experience of having to yell across the dinner table to friends, feeling rushed, and being ran into by drunk people dancing. It would have been nice to know when calling to make the reservation that they had plans to turn the restaurant into a full on bar/dance party by 745pm. I would have never gone there had I known.
We have dined here before and had a delicious dinner. This time however the food was slow to arrive, not very tasty and the service was sporadic. We were a party of six so the gratuity was automatically added to the bill. Maybe that is why the server didn't feel the need to be attentive to us.
I think they are more intere$ted with the cocktail crowd than the dinners. :-(
The service was so-so and the food was bland. Was expecting much more based upon previous reviews.
The cocktails were good and the food was okay but service ruined the experience for us. My friend ordered a gin martini and ended up with vodka. We ordered guac as an app, which never showed up. And when my fajitas came, I got a side dish of rice and beans dumped all over me. And throughout this whole process our server was super inattentive and we had to ask at the end he comp a couple things because of everything that happened.
We were very disappointed given open table ratings. While our server was super nice and friendly, the food just wasn't very good. The steak tacos were just plain bad. This is more a bar that serves food, evidenced by the huge tv that towers over all the seating.
At least they have a happy hour menu though dinner for 4 was still $100 including 1 beer. It didn't help that guac and chips was $11.
The food we were able to get was great, but I was looking forward to several dishes from the menu on their website. I wad told every dish I wanted was from LAST season. IF they're a seasonal restaurant they should update their website menu when seasonal menu changes.
Food is unique and absolutely wonderful I have not had a OK thing it's always been outstanding. Try the sangria everything is homemade
