Italian
“Saba” (or vin cotto) is a syrup originating in Italy,
created by cooking down wine grape must. Saba
melds two ancient practices: wine making and
repurposing grapes that might otherwise be overlooked.

Saba Italian Bar + Kitchen showcases modern Italian dishes with an elevated twist in a casual atmosphere. Meant to be enjoyed family style, our menu features house-made pizzas, pastas, small plates and desserts, complementing an international wine list, unique & creative cocktails, and boozy Italian cream sodas.

The food and atmosphere were incredible. We went their for my wife and her best friend's joint birthday dinner. The only downside was the server was a bit inattentive and absent minded. There were several occasions in which he either took a really long time to bring something or totally forgot. BUT, the manager (possibly owner) came by to chat and make us feel welcomed. All in all it was a great time with great food!

We went there prior to a show at the Logan theater. The food was good, and so was the service. I thought the portions were a little skimpy on our calamari appetizer and on the lobster ravioli. I also think on a $280.00 dinner for 5 they could serve bread, which they don't do except with a few specific items. Would probably not return, but that is just personal preference. Would recommend ig looking for something in that exact area.

Great experience from start to finish. The staff and owner were so friendly and engaging that anything that otherwise could have been perceived as something to complain about wasn’t even mildly a for concern. The food and drinks were delicious and beautifully executed. It is clean and well decorated with an hipster chic vibe. The owner also owns “The Walk In” bar two doors down. It’s a great little place to stop for an after dinner drink if you’re not ready to end your night just yet. The choice music (in both spots!) was also great. Overall, Saba is a great date night or girls night spot. I will certainly be returning!

My wife and I came to Saba for Valentine’s Day. We didn’t take part in the prix fixe menú so I cannot comment on that. Our server, Alfredo, provided outstanding service and is an extremely valuable asset to the Saba team. He was professional, kind, and prompt with his service so we great appreciated that. Unfortunately, the food we ordered (carbonera pasta and mushroom pizza) just didn’t live up to our expectations. The pizza was actually quite tasty so not much to say there, I would probably order that pizza again. The pasta; however, was completely under seasoned and the noodle itself didn’t feel al dente when biting. The presentation of the food was fine, just the pasta didn’t deliver whatsoever unfortunately. Restaurant atmosphere is nice, decor is charming, and we definitely plan on returning again!

SABA was perfect for our Valentine’s Day date! The service was great and the cobonara was to die for. We also got the mushroom pizza and honey truffle bruschetta, both were light and flavorful

This was my husband and my first time at Saba. The place is very classy, great service. The cocktails were great. We ordered the mussels, I had the house salad and my husband ordered the beet salad. We loved the muscles in our salads. The bread just seemed like some warmed white bread. I ordered a pancetta wrapped chicken and my husband ordered the salmon. His salmon was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. My chicken on the other hand is very salty, I think it was the pancetta. The chicken was very tender. I was not able to eat the chicken. We will however give this restaurant another try, because overall we had a great time.

Made a reservation through Open Table for restaurant week. I chose this restaurant because it looked like we had the option of the prix fixe menu for brunch or lunch at 1:30 on a Saturday. When we arrived, only 1 of 7 wanted food from the brunch menu, but we were told by the waiter that we could order lunch, but not get the prix fixe lunch menu. So, we ordered from the lunch menu but did not get an appetizer or dessert included. The manager never came over to our table to explain. I almost walked out with 7 people on a rainy Saturday from an almost empty restaurant.

In the end it was their loss because instead of spending $24 per per person we only spent $14 on average.

Service was not great (brought appetizers and no plates, appetizers came out with the entrees). Some entrees were good but most of the food was not memorable and portions were average to small. Didn’t get any bread with my spaghetti and 2 meatballs for $14.

This is unfortunate because I was excited to try a new restaurant in the neighborhood.

Saba could practice better customer service, especially since the food and portions are not going to bring us back.

We enjoyed our food very much, and our server was extremely about and helpful. I only wish that the chairs were more comfortable and the noise level was lower, but I feel the same way about most restaurants.

Everything about Saba is great! The service was wonderful. The ambiance is good. Good cocktails.
The food is the star of the show - six of us had shared appetizers and different entrees and all were delicious. Highly recommend.

Food was good. Not traditional Italian, more modern. Service was terrible. My guess is because tip was already added to the bill since it was a larger group so the waitress only came twice out of the 2 hours we where there. Never asked if we needed additional drinks when glasses were empty and taken away or how the food was. Wish I could have tipped less considering this. Probably will not come back.

I was disappointed with our meals. There was a bright point with the bruschetta, but our entrees were poorly executed. The osso bucco was overwhelmed by lemon that made it unpalatable. The ribeye special was unseasoned and tough. The papardelle was flavorless, unseasoned, and cold. Similarly the lobster ravioli was unappetizing. A glass of wine we ordered tasted like raisins, not a cabarnet. Management did try to rectify some issues by providing another entree and a complimentary dessert. The restaurant has interesting ideas, but the execution was very poor and I will not return.

Restaurant in middle of town on the north side. Never been there before. I was done gone how nice the restaurant looked outside and inside. I came at lunch so it was a little quiet. The service was great and the food was delicious. For a party at 3 that goes in and out within an hour.

This was my first time visiting Saba for brunch, though I've been there several times for dinner which is always delicious. I had the frittata which was very fresh and the cheese was great. My friends were visiting from the suburbs and split the beet salad and a sandwich, which they said was great. We also had two children and a baby with us. The food came out promptly and the service was top notch. Always a good neighboorhood place to go that's a little more upscale than some of the other places nearby.

Great food and service. Our server Ashley? ..I think /. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. She was serving in bar area on 10/5 Bent over backwards to make sure we were happy! Even the owner stopped and chatted with us and told us the history of Logan Square. We took the blue line from downtown back instead of an Uber and it was super convenient It was a good find with so many choices in the City 👍
