Place is very nice , we went for happy hour which had awful selection of food and way overpriced . Very disappointing, service was average . Nothing special , even regular menu overpriced as the food is very average . I can see why it’s only half empty . Most people are right across at Earls for a good reason !!

I keep wanting to give. S and L another chance. And every time i am disappointed in the steaks. For being known for their steaks , the meat is either poor quality cut or is cooked poorly. It was undercooked, and so chewy. I sent it back and it came even chewier. Maybe this restaurant should just be an appy and drinks kinda restaurant.

We were there for Happy Hour last evening with friends and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress Natasha was a bright, cheery and most attentive server with a smile and personality that is an asset to the establishment. House white wine was tasteful and great food options for all palates were on the menu. The chickpea fries are always amazing. The attention shown by a personal visit from one of the managers, Amber, was also a nice treat after our dinner. I definitely recommend a visit to S&L Grandview Corners, South Surrey soon. You won’t be disappointed!! Thank you again Natasha, we will be back to see you 😊

Mel, our server was awesome. Gracious and professional. Loved her. I asked about the personalized steak knives but was told by the hostess that they were for recognized customers. We are regular customers and didn’t get a good answer on why we didn’t qualify. No big deal.

Love the live music last night! Would come back just to hear him play thought I think I’d rather be sat at the back end of the restaurant as it was at times quite loud. Such a great bonus to have live music though. Would love to know his name. He did not introduce himself

Halibut was tiny and very expensive. Prawn raviolis were cold. Overall this dish wasn’t good. We sent it back. Got a salmon bowl. The salmon was good but the rest of the bowl was ok, not great. Didn’t finish it. The rice wasn’t good. Lobster roll was on a piece of bread and wasn’t on a roll. It was ok but not great. Rasp tequila drink was very good. House white wine was good. Service was ok. We won’t be back. Also, 4/6 of us got their dinners and 2 of us had to wait for the ravioli and then it was cold. Everyone else finished their dinners and we had to wait for the replacements.

Honestly I’m not one to normally write reviews but the service there was so bad, we had 2 different waitresses neither of them asked how the food was never mind checking up on us. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants and It was just not a good experience. Although the entertainment was great!

My dining partner and I both had the Wild Halibut. The halibut was overcooked, the potatoes were very undercooked, and the corn puree had a burned taste to it. Presentation was messy, and the recipe was obviously not composed well. The service was great, but the food is what we're there for.

We arrived to learn that Happy Hour was active for another half hour. We ordered a lovely wine and a number of food items that were all tasty and very nicely priced, Our server was a delightful young lady who looked after us very appropriately and explained food items and suggestions. It was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a signed congratulatory card, and received a complimentary dessert, We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We highly recommend S&L Kitchen and Bar to anyone looking for a very pleasant eating experience.

We got off to a rough start. First after 10 minutes I had to go ask the hostess if anyone was going to come by. She sent a waitress over who was very apologetic, she poured us water and took our drink orders. Over 20 minutes we sat with only water. It is the second time we have been ignored in there. Once the food came it was good except they screwed up giving my daughter my husband’s rare fillet and gave him her medium well one. We got it sorted out. Food was tasty but they need more staff and some with experience. Hard to come by these days I guess

We went for Happy hour but wanted something substantial to eat. There is a great menu, both regular and Happy hour menu. The burgers are exceptional, especially with added crispy bacon. Great fries and Cesar salad. Good prices for drinks and food. The food is served hot and on hot plates which is usually not the case at other brand restaurants. SnL is clearly making an effort to stand above their competitors.

Such a nice experience to come back to dining out with friends on a Friday night. We haven’t been back since the renovations and it looks super cute, warm and inviting with all the extra seating and green decor. Fridays and Saturdays they have live music to enjoy. Our waitress was very friendly and service was fantastic. The staff was attentive and our meals were delicious. We started out with a couple of drinks. I tried the Orange Blossom Mule and it was very tasty and refreshing. Shared some Salt Spring Island Mussels, delicious . For our entrees I had the Harvest Chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly, paired with light , fluffy gnocchi together with fresh spring vegetables. The brown butter truffle au jus is simply my favourite. My friends had the steak and frites which they enjoyed very much. Overall we have been coming here and enjoying this gem in South Surrey since they opened. Their food and service are always consistent and great for small and large groups. Would highly recommend.

Everything was great but our server could have been a little less pushy. We asked her to give us some time to go through the menu and she was back like 5 mins later, we asked for more time and again she was back shortly after. We left pressures to quickly pick what we were drinking or eating.Other than that we enjoyed our time very much and the server was nice and polite just a little pushy. We will definitely return and recommend.

The service and ambiance was very good, and so were the main courses, however, the appetizers were below par IMHO. especially the calamari which was very salty.
