    We entered and were seated right away at our high table near the bar. They had a great selection of wines and craft cocktails as well as a full bar. We were told that it was a shared style of eating, so we ordered a few appetizers (Cesar salad, chicken karage, and the seasonal sashimi) and all were amazing. Main dishes were portioned perfectly and the timing of each dish was perfect. Such a great experience. Thanks!

    The menu is creative and the food is flavorful. I especially enjoyed the oysters and the eggplant.  Cocktails were delicious and the service was excellent!

    Made a last minute dinner plan to come here, and didn’t know what to expect. In my experience, fusion restaurants and a hit or miss. Ryla was a MAJOR HIT! I wasn’t sure what to order off the menu because everything looked and sounded great! We settled for the Caesar salad, the Korean ribs, the corn salad, and the duck breast. Everything was phenomenal and every dish was perfectly executed. We also got the honeydew panna cotta dessert, and it was possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had. Perfectly sweet from the honeydew and tart from the yogurt based sorbet. Can’t go wrong with coming here!

    My fav brunch in the southbay. Everything hits every time. Breakfast sandwich, Taiwanese crepe, Japanese pancakes and both ramens are ordered every time we go. Great wine list and amazing bottomless mimosas. The best start to Sunday Funday.

    Food and ambiance were great. Celebrated multiple birthdays at RYLA for brunch, service was excellent and menu was unique, nice selection. Everything tasted fantastic. We had a wonderful time celebrating with family. Nice vibe at the restaurant.

    Good food with punchy flavours and nice ambiance and good wine. Ordered the truffle fried rice, the cod, and a smattering of appetisers. We had a tuna tostada off their tiki menu which was also delicious. Had dinner with my girlfriends and will be back with my husband.

    All the food tasted impeccable. We came at 12pm, which was just before they switched over to the lunch menu. I noted my disappointment that I wanted something from the lunch menu and the waiter was kind enough to have the kitchen bring it out to me early. Food arrived at the table and extremely fast and portion sizes were generous as well. I will definitely come back - next time to try the dinner menu!

    I made a reservation at RYLA for a birthday brunch and they exceeded my expectations. The food and ambiance was amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious and were shareable portions. They also had a Y2K themed brunch that day which made the experience more fun. Definitely worth it and will be coming back again!

    Such a fun spot in Hermosa! We attended a special brunch event with a DJ, decorations and a decked-out staff. Super fun. Everyone was friendly and efficient, the bottomless mimosas were indeed free-flowing, the food was inventive and the outdoor seating made perfect use of a gorgeous sunny day while still providing good shade. While we weren't blown away by the cuisine, it certainly made for a fun meal.

    First time here. There was a Y2K theme with a DJ, which was nice. Sat at the bar and the bartender and servers and hosts were all super friendly. Good vibe. Food was pretty good. Fried chicken app was good, but wish it was a little crispier. We got the crepe and cold noodles. Both were pretty unique and quite tasty.

    Amazing quality of food and cocktails. Our server was friendly, attentive and radiating enthusiasm. She made great recommendations we asked for. Loved the Tiki themed cocktails and glasses that night, with good-vibe reggae/island beats at just the right volume. They get the lighting and mood right too.

    Used the valet parking. Staff were pleasant effective and efficient. We had a toddler with us, they have high chairs to accommodate. Cuisine was excellent, as were the cocktails we tried. Tough to comment on acoustics (which are important to me) since we dined outside, but easy to make conversation and hear other in midst of other diners, traffic, etc. Looking forward to visiting another time for a themed event (like Y2K brunch). Sounds super fun.

    Food was fabulous! Sadly, our server was not hospitable…. Maybe she was having a bad day. While we were pleasant and excited to be there, she was almost annoyed with her responsibilities and couldn’t have cared less about our table. Definitely a bad attitude. We’ll go back, but I will avoid her station.

    I was pretty disappointed to book a table for a large group for a ‘90s Brunch’ only to be told on arrival we had missed the brunch menu. I think if you’re holding a brunch event you need to serve that menu through to 4pm when the Brunch finishes. When I asked the server she said we will have to come back next weekend instead and was quite cold. The majority of our group had come from an hour away because we had talked so highly of the brunch menu from a previous trip. I found the lunch menu to be quite overpriced, the egg and avo toast was served on bread so hard it was really difficult to eat! Really disappointed and I felt a bit embarrassing to have brought our friends from so far! At the end of the meal all the lights were turned off while we were finishing our drinks so we didn’t feel super welcome. Would have been avoided if it had been made clear at the time of booking… :(

    I came with my friends later in the night, our first time here, and it was fantastic! The staff is friendly and welcoming, had great recommendations and very attentive. The food was delicious, I recommend ordering a few things and sharing. Left satisfied and delighted.

    My husbands first time going, we went for our anniversary. We had a wonderful experience. Great food, service, and ambiance. They offered us a complimentary desert to celebrate our anniversary as well as a signed card by the whole staff, such. Sweet gesture to make a memorable anniversary. We will be going back! Highly recommend!

    Great restaurant near the ocean in Hermosa Beach. Everything was great. Creative approach with a lot of Japanese / Asian cuisine influences. Pork buns, spare ribs, fish, seasonal salads (tomato / melon) and vegetables all very good. Great cocktails too. Very nice outdoor patio.

    Had a lovely brunch at Ryla this morning. Service was friendly and accommodating. Very restful ambiance though I imagine that it could be noisy on a busy evening. The peach "bellini" that the bartender created was delicious. Our pork belly eggs Benedict was good but needed more pork belly. Coffe was tasty and abundant. We'll be back.

    Tried Ryla for the first time last night. I made an error in the reservation which should have been for 3 but the default of 2 is what got booked. They were unable to accomodate us for inside seating and we had to sit on the patio. There was a service dog at another table that barked several times during the meal. We tried many of the small dishes and the rock fish and cocktails. Bill was $250 for the 3 of us so not bad. We enjoyed Spicy Eggplant the best. I would try again if seated indoors because it looks like a lovely atmosphere. Service was outstanding.
