Rye - Diner and Drinks
food was pretty good! our server was AMAZING. forgot her name buuut brunette and hilarious, served the night we were in :)
We came to Rye for dinner and drinks with friends that we were looking forward to catching up with. There was live music getting setup. At first, I thought this cool that we didn't know and looked forward to it. But it was so incredibly loud we had to shout across a tiny table of 4 people. I am a massive music fan and actually enjoyed the music, but in a restaurant scene at 7pm (dinner time), I would have preferred it to be a bit more diner friendly. We ended up getting drinks and 2 apps and went somewhere else for dinner, unfortunately. That being said, the food was delicious and the drinks totally on point. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed by what appeared to be the bands' groupies, so it was also rather slow.
Food was great, place was too loud, terrible service..
Staff needs to be knowledgeable in vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options. Our waiter wasn’t sure about many things and also brought non-vegan sauces out when we ordered vegan fries.
Stopped by for lunch to catch up with a former colleague. Very pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Menu had a broad selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch items. I went the lunch route with a BLT & Salad, my friend went with the bacon hash, neither of us was disappointed.
Service was attentive without being obtrusive. Ambience & general noise level were sufficient for our conversations to feel private yet we didn't need to raise our voices over the hubbub.
Will definitely return (next Friday to be precise)
The place was pretty empty for 7pm on a Friday evening so I think it’s more popular for brunch. But that’s not a bad thing when you don’t have to worry about crowded parking and long waits. The food was excellent and the mixologist on staff was superb! Our server was great too so we’ll definitely be coming back.
